you dont have to follow this board regularly to see something new-because you wont, some things never change, same people, same negativity, same words but I think positivity prevailed.

well thank you but I dont need corrections. I dont see any problem in same songs, same themes, same chords. I am just happy they record new stuff no matter if I hear something similar to the previus records. They are in the stage when they cant record anything that could surprise me.

Word. How ironic that she makes this statement when she is easily the most "excessively negative" person on this board when it comes to Richie lol.

I pulled up all my post history.

The most recent post I made about Richie was New Year’s Eve, that “tomorrow is 2019 and you’re all still arguing about Richie.”

That wasn’t negative about Richie, that was negative about the repetitive discussions.

Prior to that, my most recent post about Richie was made on July 15, 2018 and it said that in one of the HOF interviews Richie said the first thing Jon said to him when they saw each other was “I love you.” Not negative. EIGHT MONTHS AGO.

So, not excessive posting. See, I figured out about 12-18 months ago that I don’t have to participate in the misery. I have made 5 posts that mention Richie since July and only the 12/31/18 post had anything to do with his departure.

I’m done. I used to love this website. I come here out of obligation now. So I gave up the obligation.

Goodbye and Good Riddance. There are alternative outlets where I can discuss my interests.

If anyone wants to stay in touch, you can find me on Twitter.

To be fair you haven't really been posting here much at all in recent months, and there has been very little Richie discussion as he hasn't really been up to much, so comparing recent comments is kinda null and void. I was more talking about the previous 15 years of comments... :p

I'm truly sorry you feel that way...we all get people having a go at us or disagreeing with us at times, it's all part of it, you take it for what it is - an internet forum of people that don't really know us. If you can't handle that then maybe a forum that only loves everything that Jon and the current line up are doing is more suited to you....

Have a seat, Thinny. I’ve been part of this community for at least 20 years, through several incarnations of the board. Over the years, I’ve had FAR more heated discussions with people who were just as passionate as I was, but there was usually more respect shown toward others, even in disagreements. Most of those people left. I can certainly hold my own in a discussion or disagreement, if I care to. Dry County has always had a contingent of negativity and I do not need to be surrounded by people who like everything. *I* don’t like everything. The difference now is, everyone who actually likes the band or something they do is attacked. So, I have LOST INTEREST in discussing this band here and since the discussion doesn’t interest me any longer, I have no reason to pour through the miserable posts almost everyone else is making. This is not about like-mindedness. This is about realizing I don’t have to put time and effort into something that brings me no joy anymore. That’s why I have posted so little in the last year compared to the 20 before. I have lost interest in participating in this community. The contempt for the band and the moderating team is ridiculous, especially since you don’t know what we deal with now or have dealt with in years past, including vague restrictions/instructions on exactly how to follow the vision of the webmaster.

Now, that just isn't true I'm afraid.

Ok, well, I'm still sorry you see it that way. Personally, I see plenty of positivity here, as well as the negativity (sometimes valid, sometimes not). Like I said, it needs to be taken for what it is. It's a message board - not real life. As far as respect goes, whilst I absolutely respect the opinions of everyone that posts here, it's something that the internet doesn't do well, so I don't go to message boards looking for it from random strangers with similar interests. I, like many here, enjoy the debates we have, even when some of us get a little over-excited.

I hope you find what you are looking for elsewhere and I completely agree, if you feel no joy at being here anymore, then there is absolutely no point.

All the best.
