No, I never believed that. I really think One Step Closer from Lost Highway was registered as "Closer", it's the same three writers.

https://www.ascap.com/repertory#/ace...rkID/451284414 Ok, it's the same three writers but Closer instead says: performers: Westlife. https://www.ascap.com/repertory#/ace...ter=SVW&page=1 |

Shanks, John Reid, Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan, Feehily, Shane Filan https://www.ascap.com/repertory#/ace...rkID/909288302 This would be the correct listing for the Westlife song. I'm not ruling out it being a grand coincidence that the same three people also wrote an unreleased song the same name as a song that made the album that shares a very close name to their own but it feels like a registering error to me,. |

Has anyone heard Story of Love on the radio yet?
Also, BBC4 here in the UK are repeating Top of the Pops from 1990 on Friday nights, Blaze of Glory charted the previous week, unsure if Jon performs in the studio on one of the 2 episodes airing this Friday |
Save a Prayer is not a song I listen to very often but man, I forgot how amazing this one is.

About 6 months ago I bought the In These Arms 7” for Save A Prayer as I was disappointed to see the song not only missing from the KTF vinyl in the box set but also the bonus LP of other songs. It’s a great track and one of the best on KTF. Defo in my top 3 from that album. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |
Do we know anything about this? Aldo states that Richie and Obie came to his studio do do overdubs for a live album. However he doesn't say when. We can assume it was for OWN but who knows. I don't like hearing that they overdubbed live recordings though. |

At the end of that interview it sounds like some bad shit went down between Jon and Aldo...

The live album was going to be released in 1990, it was almost ready... Jon and Obie picked from over 40-50 hours of music.
|
I wonder how far they got before it was scrapped, i.e how many tracks were 'prepated' for the release.

The last 2 weeks I somehow fell for Bullet.
I think it's a good song with some nice lyrics. "How does money lead to greed, when there's still hungry mouth to feed" is along Jon's best lines, in my opinion. Musical-wise, it's somehow the 2000s equivalent to 90s Fear or 80s Roulette. I think all 3 songs are good ones, with verses that work quite well. But it's the chorus in all 3 songs that misses something which leaves you with the feeling that the songs had more potential if they would have worked out the chorus properly. |

My comparison "musical-wise" wasn't meant the way that the songs sound alike, but that the verses work while the choruses don't. |

Any idea tl what show Mike Shinoda is referring to?? I vaguely remember something similar but not sure when it took place. I remember them playing Captain Crash in a parking lot show for some reason but Bon Jovi promo shows are easy to mix up.... |
This would be fun to piece together but man it's all over the place in what he remembers shoved into one interview haha. Like....
" ‘Hey, Richie [Sambora, guitar]!’ ‘Yeah, Jon?’ ‘You remember when we used to take the girls out to the back of the parking lot and…’ “They’re in the middle of a song and they’re doing this monologue, and then Richie busts into one of his ‘wow-wow-wow’ guitar parts and Jon Bon Jovi sets his microphone aside, and turns around, and shakes his ass at the crowd." I can't think of a single song that would have that in it with a monologue about girls and go into a talk box while Jon dances haha. |
It sounds like the into of Yankee Rose more so than anything! MAYBE the breakdown of In & Out Of Love? Although I doubt they played that live anymore by the time Linkin Park were a thing.

Guess which music video i'm talking about... |
The video for Everyday?
|
Remember when this song used to make rounds as the "new Bon Jovi single" around the release of WAN? The singer really does sound similar to Jon at many points:

Can someone identify the guy playing the NJ guitar in this picture? Or happen to know which show it's from?

looks like Steve Vai to me, but don't recall him ever appearing with the band though, I might be wrong |

Here's another photo. Im running it through a reverse image search to try and track it down. |
That's most likely Billy Squier. He also played with the band during Wild Thing at Giants Stadium (2:49 in here):
These pictures are most likely from San Diego (April 21st, 1989). |
Thanks muchly, guys!
At first, I didn't think the guy in Capt Jovi's picture looked like the same guy bc the facial features look totally different to me. But the shirt's the same; and when I compared a screenshot from Dominick's video with the picture Matt Posted I could see the resemblance. So I guess Billy Squier it is! (I gotta say, though, that I agree with Nige. In the picture I posted he looks a LOT like Scott Bakula - with Joe Perry hair!!) :D Thanks to all! |

A random question for fellow guitar players:
I listened to the Circle today and realized I've never played Learn To Love on guitar (by the way, I love the song). It's not a technically tough song, but I have trouble with getting the chords right for that intro/verse. I know it starts on C and goes down from there. It almost sounds like the second chord is a Cmaj7 but it doesn't feel quite right. Anyone who have gotten that intro right?? :) |
