Any idea tl what show Mike Shinoda is referring to?? I vaguely remember something similar but not sure when it took place. I remember them playing Captain Crash in a parking lot show for some reason but Bon Jovi promo shows are easy to mix up....

I randomly was going through live videos on Facebook and this show was playing. It's not Vegas but I think this is the show that I had in mind when I read the interview. LOL!!!

Very strange list. Anni-Frid Lyngstad from ABBA on No. 14 but Bennie and Björn, who wrote all those hits, don't even appear on it?
And Jon making more money than Mick?
Seems like bogus from start to finish.

Yeah I wouldn't put much faith in it. It's pretty clickbaity "The data has been taken from Forbes, Wealthy Gorilla, Celebrity Net Worth, and The Richest" and a lot of those sites are just guesses.

We want to know where Jon buys his clothes now? Sorry, but that's getting a bit stalker-ish isn't it!?

Can anybody break this down into English for me? I've read it a couple of times and still don't understand what they're saying. :(

I really don't have time for reading again but I think it's related with this video where Jon was talking about PROs: that means, license fees for public performances ("and pay royalties to songwriters")
from radio stations, TV broadcasts, internet streaming, social events, restaurants, public buildings, stadiums, etc.

Great interview. When he talks about how if two songs are for an album and both are good but they have the same lyrical theme you can't use both. Cripes. Wish he'd listen to himself.

What's wrong with that? It seems like a reasonable thing to say.

Oh no, it is! It's the fact that he used to believe it and completely abandoned it as the years went on.

I've been listening to an artist named Johnny Lima a lot in the past couple of months. Some of you know probably know him, he's a great singer/songwriter with a very similar style and voice as JBJ used to have especially in the 80s and 90s.

That said, the guy flat out copies quite many things (and occasionally even complete songs) from Jon EXTREMELY blatantly. For example, this song is so close to Bang A Drum that I honestly think, if Lima were any more famous, he probably would've ended up in the court because of it:

Hallelujah (What's It to Ya?) - YouTube

Oh boy, that really does sound A LOT like Bang A Drum 😅

If that guy were more famous, I could certainly see him ending up in court because of this.

Although I'm not sure if Jon would care enough to sue, since Bang A Drum isn't exactly a super well-known hit song and Jon himself probably doesn't spend much time thinking about that song either.

There's a guy in Argentina who copies Bon Jovi/Jon quite a lot, but I forget his name. Some of his songs are very similar.

JBJ:Every kid dreams of hearing his song on the radio… in 1983 I took it to another level by taking Runaway to a radio station. It was a brand new station located just outside of New York City called WAPP… they were so new they didn’t have a receptionist to stop me from getting the attention of DJ Chip Hobart. I hung around after his shift to tell him my story. We played the song, Chip said the song sounded like a hit and committed to getting Runaway on the radio… he did…

I’ve thanked him a thousand times for that day. This week I reached out to my old friend to ask him to play Runaway on a very special project we’ve been working on. I found out that Chip Hobart had passed away in March... thank you my friend, for the 1001st time.

We’ll dedicate the first spin to him.
Love to his family.
