Even if the song was written in 2005, it could still work lyrically (Hard life doesn't have to necessarily be about any type of rehab). Or the song could have started in 2005 and finished in 2014. Lyrically, it does feel like two songs in one... The lyrics do tell a story about someone missing someone deeply and the term "sleepyhead" is usually associated with a child. |

"Sit at the counter counting tips Can't count on nothing else these days" and "Get out of bed now sleepy head You'd give an arm to hear him say" I think it's just more than a song for his daughter. |
To me Blind Love is a love story kinda like the Because We Can videos but more romantic, HAND song but recorded in 2015 to my ear
|
The Blind Love vocal was definitely recorded for BB, the way he nasally sings "till I find my way..." gives it away, the 2005 Jon would've sounded much better on that part especially.
|
Hmm maybe. I was just listening to It's My Life from Borgata '03 and it was pretty frigging nasally. '05 was when his voice started getting ultra processed on albums by John Shanks and Blind Love sounds pretty underproduced. I'm of the camp that the older songs weren't touched much, unless it was old to the point of Richie's guitar needs removing.

Was anyone else here like "Bon Jovi only has 3 good songs, those are LOAP, WDOA, IML" before becoming a Bon Jovi fan.
I was one of those and then I am listening to so many Bon Jovi songs that are great. I never thought I would become a fan of Bon Jovi actually. Much better than I first thought. |

Then around 2007-2008 I surprisingly heard the TLFR version of IML on the radio and thought "what a great cover, I have to find it online" and I saw that it was Bon Jovi too! And the second step was, being a huge GNR fan, I was reading on November Rain Wikipedia page how the song is a grand epic power ballad of sorts, similar to Stairway To Heaven by Led Zeppelin and Dry County by Bon Jovi. I had obviously never heard of Dry County before, looked it up and rest is history. |
The first songs I listened to were LOAP, Bad Name and I think IBTFY.
I am one of those that only like WDOA before the solo and the last verse. WDOA that ends after the second verse basically. |
I heard Wanted Dead Or Alive is about Being loved (Alive) Or hated (Dead).
I used to hear this song every single morning getting ready for school and university, rest is history. |

This was the only time being bullied worked in my favor. It’s okay. I paid my friends back in spades because I rambled on about Bon Jovi until we graduated... and to this day. Last laugh is mine. Haha |
Actually, the first I ever heard of BJ was Keep The Faith on MTV at the end of '92 or the beginning of '93 (can't remember exactly ;-)), and I thought "Hey this is cool, who's that?". Then bought the record, the records before that, and stuck to it ;-)
That's why Blame It On The Love Of Rock'N'Roll still has a special meaning to me. I was 15/16, had long hair, my teachers didn't like me, I started to play guitar, and my parents thought I'd stop listening to that rock stuff soon after. "They said it won't last, but they misunderstood" :-D |
The first BJ song I heard was Prayer, back in the mid-2000s when I was obsessed with guitar hero (for those out of the loop, it's a video game where you push buttons on a fake guitar in rhythm with real songs). I was already into rock, and always forced my parents to tune into my city's classic rock station, which had a few BJ songs in rotation, when we had to drive somewhere. Prayer was the most common song BJ song on this station, and I would occasionally hear it played. One day, however, a very similar-sounding song was played, which I later found out was called "You Give Love a Bad Name". As time went on, I would also hear Runaway, Wanted, IBTFY, and Blood on Blood on this station. Then one day, while listening to my city's pop station, the announcer said "here's Bon Jovi", and I was like "huh? on this station? I thought they were an old rock band!" The song that was played sounded like a more modern version of the songs I'd heard on the classic rock station, which I later found out was called "It's My Life". In 2009, I watched them perform on the grammys for the first time ever, where I heard WWBTF and Who Says for the first time. Back then, my family and I used to watch American Idol together, and BJ came on the show one day and performed Superman Tonight. This was the first time I had ever heard the song, and I fell in love with it instantly. It was at that moment where I really became a fan, even though that particular performance was subpar by TC-era standards. After that I dove headfirst into the band's catalog, and the rest is history!

I really like Jon's work with Aldo Nova. I'm a huge Aldo Nova fan. I wish they would both go on tour together. I've never seen either one of them live. That would be a real treat.

KTF video was the first BJ video clip I ever saw!

okay, everytime I read this forum you all always make me laugh but after that I picked up the newspaper and started to read a little, until I found the news about Heather... U_U

Compare this:
Bryan Adams - Run To You Bon Jovi - Borderline They sound way too similar for it to be a coincidence. Run To You is from 1984. Borderline is from 1986. Good thing Bon Jovi did not release the song. Especially the choruses. |
