Anybody else like the TFLR DVD (besides me)?
I actually love it - it was the first DVD I got about anything overall (I've posted the full story earlier on this thread, if I remember correctly) and while it was a bit of a weird experience for me as a four-year-old, around 2011-12 it started to grow on me and nowadays it's one of my favorite concert films of all time. The versions of Bad Name, Prayer, IML, Saturday Night, Bad Medicine, BTBMB and BOB are chilling. |
I enjoy watching two or three songs of it occasionally, but as a full concert I don't like it at all.
|
The only thing that I remember right now is Love For Sale being a very nice opening song for that concert; I never liked those “instruments and sounds” of TLFR...

Jovi Moment: During a Heavy Metal Concert?
When I mentioned that my replacement Bon Jovi Slippery When Wet T-shirt had been delivered, and that I was planning to attend a daytime metal show at a Jersey shore bar, I was dared to wear the shirt to the show. I said, "Okay -- but on the condition that you pay me what I paid for the ticket!"
But I knew there wouldn't be any problem, even a with lineup consisting of unsigned bands and underground band members: they know that Bon Jovi's success helped lay the foundation for what's left of the new Jersey's rock scene. For proof, all you had to do was look on the walls of the bar, where Bon Jovi's name is painted among dozens of bands. And somebody bragged to me that they had grown up in Jon's home town of Sayreville, while somebody else told me that "Tico is such a good guy!" Now, here's the very best part -- the concert was a benefit, sponsored by brothers who made their debut on the Jerry Lewis muscular dystrophy telethons, and who DJ the online heavy rock show Bullspike Radio. Allow me to introduce Turbo and Jay Scorpion: http://yourhhrsnews.com/wp-content/u...CliftonDjs.jpg And now that I've collected what I paid for the ticket, all that's left to do is come up with the right charity to donate it to, LOL! |

I love this show, especially the versions of Prayer, BTBMB, and Last Man Standing, among others. I like the version of Bad Name as well, but I feel they did it better during the Unplugged thing in 2007. |

TLFR concert is very bourgeois for my taste. And in general, even if they are pleasant at times, those shiny acoustic versions of '00 lack much of the passion and coolness of the 90's acoustic sets... As with all band material. In the 90s, even if it was partly an attempt to follow the "alternative" and "grunge" fashions, there was some very pleasant laid back character to the band's overall output (includong the solo projects).
When they started trying to imitate Backstreet Boys or Avril Lavigne... that had a dire effect on the sound and image of BJ. It became too forced in my opinion. And the TLFR concert is so not rock.. And so staged.. They were good musicians still , but it justs ammounted to talent wasted. More or less. |
Is it me or has the past year and half been the most boring time period ever to be a Bon Jovi fan?
After the THINFS album dropped and they released all the SBD shows from that first leg, there has been nothing... Maybe I'm just spoiled but I feel like in this gap of the past year and a half, there has been nothing really exciting for fans... I'm not just talking from the official Bon Jovi camp either... Nothing new from fan edits, bootlegs, leaks... there is just nothing going on and nothing to search for anymore... Sure Jon did the two short legs after and we got a handful of the usual songs from that... Rio was cool... The four songs from Philly were just okay. It would have been better if we got more from other shows like they did during The Circle tour (and other songs than just the usual) The Hall of Fame was a fun one week window for fans but again, the usual 4 songs were played... Finally the two new songs from the re-release were just okay... We're approaching the two year mark since THINFS was released and hopefully something exciting gets released or announced soon... The period from mid-2011 up until late 2012/early 2013 was about as boring as this.
However, in terms of fan edits, I can only speak on behalf of two of us Youtubers who have actually become a bit bored of everything and hence aren't doing much anymore. |
And latest posts on Bon Jovi social media bores me to tears...
Come on Rachel, be a little more creative! hihih (I don't like Born Again Tomorrow!!! lol) and even when fans paid some money for being members in Backstage, there's absolutely NOTHING on there. |
I don't see much of interesting news, etc from Bon Jovi nowadays except the concerts (For example Australia), some private performanes, etc.
The wine stuff, etc are the same and boring. It seems like there hasn't been much material, etc at all these 3 - 4 years. After 2004 - 2006 the interviews got less and less interesting in my opinion. For Jon himself it might be better like what it is right now in terms of normal life, spending more time outside of music business, etc. He has spent so much of his life with music. I have only been a fan since very early 2017 though (Seems like I know a lot about the band, performances, songs, etc even after such a short time). |

I wish Outlaws Of Love had better instrumental and vocal (Not in terms of lyrics ) parts for verses. The chorus both vocally and instrumentally is very good.
