...I still hope his voice will improve until the 2017 tour starts. With this voice we won't be getting any performances of ITA, Always, BOR, Dry County, These Days or any rarities like Hey God, TAALS, I Believe, Damned etc.
The setlist will probably stay the same as the ones from 2015 mini tour and which will consist of 2 parts that will alternate: the new songs like WSYCGH, LH, TWTWMM, BWC, in which Jon whispers pretty much during the whole song while the band members back him up, and the second one KTF, Sleep, Bad Medicine, Bad Name, Prayer which consists of Jon's constant whining "owww we're efwy thiiieaaa, livin on a prayer, take my yeeeen we'll make it i swiaaa", |
I've certainly heard worse performances but his upper range is gone and I don't think it'll come back.
Listen to the start of Bad Name. It sounds like he has something down his throat and his voice is weird! |
Unfortunately I dont think it will improve, touring will only make things worse. If he struggles with acoustic versions belting out on stage 4 times a week will not be a good thing.

I didn't think his vocals were bad. BWC was a mess because of the timing between him and the back up but other than that for the type of show thought it was fine.

"I ain't gonna live forever, ..., like Frankie said i did it my way" He couldn't hit any notes that correspond with my underlined words. Whenever the pitch goes even remotely higher, he is unable to hit these notes. It doesn't sound that horrific in a vacuum listening to these recordings, but it does horrify me in terms of next tour, considering how low these notes are compared to the average Bon Jovi song. I really can't understand how can anyone defend this. |
