Live Song that Eludes You

What's the ONE (okay, you can name more than one) song that you always really, really, really wanted to hear live IN PERSON but you never got the chance?

The top of my list is Mystery Train.

bonjovi90 07-08-2016 09:34 PM

Never Say Goodbye. There were a lot on my list, but I've chosen my shows wisely - or simply was lucky to attend the right ones :D

Captain_jovi 07-08-2016 09:35 PM

Hard Letting you go.

Oh yeah, that's one I've missed out on as well.

Javier 07-08-2016 10:24 PM

This ain't a love song, Story of my life, I believe, Stick to your guns (even if just a small sample of it) and Fast cars (yeah yeah I know, never played live and never will be but it would make an awesome song with Jon out on the crowd).

Bounce7800 07-08-2016 10:29 PM

Of ones that are actually played occasionally Wild Is The Wind, Something To Believe In & This Aint A Love Song

Becky 07-08-2016 11:15 PM

Oh yeah, Wild is the Wind goes on my list too! Especially since they actually play it sometimes! Also I Am.

Me too - but lucky for me most of the rarities that I was dying to hear, I heard on the European trip I took in 2011. Even luckier for me, Jon could still sing them. It was a once in a lifetime experience that turned out perfectly for us setlist junkies :)

Faceman 07-09-2016 12:56 AM

Something To Believe In, Hard Letting You Go and I Believe.
Never Say Goodbye would have been great, too.

united17 07-09-2016 04:04 AM

Oh man, so many. If I had to pick one it'd be: I Want to be Loved.

I'm torn because I'd love to hear Misunderstood live but not with Jon's vocals during the Iiiii's in the chorus. I guess they could use a backing track but I dunno how good it would sound.

Others:
Story of My Life
Brokenpromiseland
Love's the Only Rule
Superman Tonight
Summertime
Bells of Freedom
Thorn in My Side
I'd Die For You
Hey God
Something to Believe In

Kev 07-09-2016 11:23 AM

I've been extremely fortunate to pick the right shows, where the majority of the rarities have been played. The big ones for me that are still missing from my list are Let It Rock, Stick To Your Guns, Mystery Train and Thank You For Loving Me. Pretty much, everything else I've heard now. There's just the above super rare ones, that I have to accept that I will probably never get to hear! One can only live in hope :)

Fly over for a Bounce show someday and we might get all these covered :D

I'm not sure I understand your question /topic????? Are you using the right word? Eludes????

When Jon plays Bad Name, I run to the bathroom to escape...

1. to avoid capture or escape detection by; evade.
2. to escape the perception or comprehension of:

1.elude - escape, either physically or mentally elude - escape, either physically or mentally; "The thief eluded the police"; "This difficult idea seems to evade her"; "The event evades explanation"

2. elude - be incomprehensible to; escape understanding by; "What you are seeing in him eludes me"

3. elude - avoid or try to avoid fulfilling, answering, or performing (duties, questions, or issues); "He dodged the issue"; "she skirted the problem"; "They tend to evade their responsibilities"; "he evaded the questions skillfully"

Each member in this thread (of which 90% probably don't have English as their native language) understood what this is about :p

Instead of being a picky ... you should have just read the first post:

Eludes = Escapes. Of course, as the post above says, had you read the first post, you would have gotten it.

Rdkopper 07-09-2016 03:33 PM

This is a tough question...

A. There are a bunch of songs I've never heard because Jon never payed them. (But I'll stick to the ones I know they / he did at least once)

B. Hearing your favorite 80's/90's song in 2013 doesn't count.

C. I've sen this band live countless times and because of that, the only songs that move me now, are the rarities...

There are some songs from the first two albums that I'd love to hear live...

King Of The Mountain
Hardest Pat Is The Night
Silent Night
Shot Through The Heart

And then moving onto an album like KTF

Fear
I Want You
Blame It On The Love Of RnR

I could probably go through every album from Bon Jovi to TD and pull out a few but my only issue is, hearing Jon do them now is pointless...

ezearis 07-09-2016 04:22 PM

This Ain't A Love Song, without a doubt.

rolo_tomachi 07-09-2016 05:22 PM

My Guitar Lies Bleeding In My Arms and If I Was Your Mother. but without Richie does not feel good.

Haha funny you should mention this. I've been thinking of doing exactly this for some time. Considering that I come to Germany twice a year, I really should plan my trips more carefully ;)

Dry County.

Having only attended 3 band shows (and not planning to attend any more), my bucket list obviously half-empty. I was still fortunate to hear a lot of rarities and most of my favorites, but if I had to name one song that's in top 5, and one they still play every know and then, this would be it.

Honorable mentions: Just Older, Something To Believe In, Never Say Goodbye

Serves you right for going to see Green Day. (J/K Sorry, not a fan!)

Savvi 07-19-2016 02:18 AM

It was Bed of Roses, but I thankfully got it in New Jersey on the WAN tour.

It's gotta be Wild In the Streets for me. I love the live recorded versions Ive heard. I don't have much hope for hearing it live unfortunately!

And also, despite attending 3 shows on The Circle Tour and 4 shows on the What About Now Tour, I still haven't managed to hear Love's the Only Rule. That one definitely eludes me!

The top of my list is Mystery Train.

Never Say Goodbye.

When the band were in Oz last, they had the folks attending one of the Sydney concerts submit a few songs they wanted the band to play, and that concert would have been one of the best because it contained a heap of songs the band rarely play live.

I can't believe I haven't seen In These Arms. I've seen Bon Jovi five times now since 2007 (which I know isn't a lot compared to a lot of you) but I've always missed out on that one, and would love to see it.

I know there's a lot of Captain Crash hate but somehow managed to never get that one until the last show I went to (Chicago in 2013). I did get to see Dry County in Denver the same year which was a great surprise.

I would love to see Thorn in My Side at one point.

Haha I had In These Arms and Captain Crash at each of my eleven shows :D

Thorn in my side would be so nice to See, even though i think that It's rather unlikely, as it didn't get played more than a few (One?) times and quickly disappeared from the setlists.

As an almost complete BJ Show newbie there's certainly more than One Song i would love to See... These days, saturday night, dry county would be the ones that come to my mind right now. Very common ones a few years/tours ago, but now... Sigh...

Exactly. After that, I'm more or less satisfied as far as what is reasonable. I wouldn't mind hearing Silent Night... or getting Tokyo Road and In and Out of Love again (I got them on the Slippery tour, but didn't know them very well at all. Anything from those initial albums done now is pretty disingenuous, so I don't crave them being forced.

Going deeper with post- 2000 is more interesting to me at this point. Hook Me Up would be a surprise as would Right Side of Wrong.

It's been played quite a lot especially at the beginning of The Circle tour. I recently found an unfinished tour statistic file I did back then. During the first 53 shows it was played 12 times.
But you are right with your point that the song became much more rare the longer the tour went.

Brokenpromiseland and my guitar ließ bleeding, i almost forgot how much i like These Songs :
Got i'm with you in Stuttgart 2013, found it a Bit disappointing but would like the band to Not give up the Song entirely, because i think that It's Got great Potential.
