RT Concert in New York, July 27-29th 2016

Curious as to whether he'll unleash any further information about the upcoming album or the lead single at the show tonight. Furthermore he had stated with regards to "I Want You" in Dublin: "I'll remember this one for the next time." Though I doubt that he really has rehearsed it, a full rendition of the song would be nice to hear.

Lucas_Roli 07-28-2016 09:16 PM

It would be awesome to get an acoustic full version of I Want You!!

B.J.F. 07-28-2016 09:18 PM

Yet another show--Jon your voice doesn't need that! But I do hope some mention is made of the CD.

I think if he decides to do, it would be very interesting. Jon still can do something wonderful in low tones with this song.

As it had been pointed out to you in another thread - he IS a singer and a singer needs to train his vocals. If he sat around with his vocal coach doing exercises for 2 hours a day or if he does a RT show doesn't make a difference. His last proper tour ended over 2,5 years ago. How long should he rest his vocals?

Agreed. He rested them alright. It's the training and sustaining part that he has historically struggled with - his first show after the break has always been the weakest vocally.

Set list:

With These Two Hands
Who Says You Can't Go Home
Little City
Lost Highway
You Give Love A Bad Name
Thick As Thieves
It's My Life
Whole Lot Of Leaving
Destination Anywhere
You Had Me From Hello
Someday I'll Be Saturday Night
Because We Can

bjcrazycpa 07-29-2016 01:48 PM

I'm curious as to what Little City sounds like as it's one of my favorites from the DA record.

Adam D 07-29-2016 03:01 PM

Pretty disappointing to be honest. I'd be pissed if I paid they much money and didn't get anything new.

Hopefully, he spilled some info on the new album at least.

I must have missed the pointed out in another thread part about Jon being a singer. I'm sorry I think there is a different between having a vocal coach and just performing on your own. When you have a vocal coach you are actually training your voice not simply singing. In fact maybe a vocal coach is exactly what Jon needs?

Almost 2,000$ for a 12-song set. Could be used in a dictionary as an explanation for the term rip-off

I'd rather use it as an example for "efficient". It would be a rip-off if nobody in the audience would know what to expect. But even the stupidest fan should know by now how those events work. Nobody can really be surprised by the length.

Those prices are ridiculous. But as long as enough people are willing to pay them they are obviously not high enough.

Gotta agree. If people are getting enjoyment out of it, so be it. The price includes the hote arrangements so it's not like they're plunking down that amount and getting just the show.

Yes, they are selling a trip and all that goes with it vs a concert/show. I wonder if there was Q&A too? I'd assume so. I had read that at the show in Dublin Jon had said (I'm paraphrasing) he wanted to play some of the new songs but refrained because he knew if he did it would be up on youtube in a flash.

It's basically just Jon mumbling through a verse and chorus while saying "I don't remember" about 4 times during that minute....

It's really a 10 song set considering that Little City and Thick as Thieves were a mumbled improvised verse and chorus each that was requested by a member of the audience. So maybe 10 and a half??

angelsambo 07-29-2016 10:44 PM

Phil X last night @Runawaytours

Mine too Deb - I love that song. Though after Dublin I would have expected him to brush up a bit.

Yeah, they said he was just at the after party. But him being there leads me to believe that somethings gonna be happening soon, rehearsals, photo shoots or something. The guy hates leaving his wife and kids so he can't just be in NYC and at Jon's event just to hang with jbj. But then again maybe he is, who knows at this point....

Phil X hates leaving his wife and kids maybe that is why he said "probably" when it came to the tour.

But yeah I do think something must be up. I have just given up on trying to figure out what exactly is going on.

Dear god what the hell is happening on earth?!! He said probably because it's no sure thing like anything else in this world, and the thing about hating to leave your wife and kids just means that when he leaves to go to NY, Europe or wherever without his family it's a work related thing....

Just thinking I wouldn't want to be married to a man in the music business because they seem to be rarely home.

And don't get me wrong I very much want Phil X on the tour.

Jon Bon Jovi Wants to Be 'Secretary of Entertainment' for Hillary Clinton
"I'm gonna be the Secretary of Entertainment when Mrs. Clinton gets in," the 54-year-old joked during his final Runaway Tours appearance at the B.B. King Blues Club and Grill in New York City.

Bon Jovi revealed that he's known the official Democratic presidential nominee and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, for some time...

"...Dorothy and I...flew down on this private plane," Bon Jovi shared...(T)he other passengers began badgering President Clinton with questions, including, "Whose job is cooler, your's or Jon's?"

...(Jon) assert(ed) that his job as a rock star was definitely superior because "I got to keep the airplane and the house."

Secretary of Entertainment -- great idea! Once he's done waterboarding Richie and making Donald Trump return the painting Tico sold him, he could make lip synching and auto tuning illegal!

That's gotta be his favourite joke. I don't know how many I've heard him say that one

Although I get Jon's joke, The Clinton's have more money than Jon, Bruce, and Bono combined. They give it back after 8 years and purchase their own.
