It was great for an interview to be given so much time, and not just brief soundbites with the same questions.

True he said many of the same quotes as he has trotted out before, but listening live the "Is Richie on your Christmas Card list? No...... There's no ill will", the gap seemed to be a chasm!

Really good interview. Very relaxed and nice to hear an interviewer avoid the usual cliché ridden questions. I'm sure ITV & The One Show will make up for that tomorrow though!

Can't say I'm surprised by the answer to the final question... Would rather get new fans than hold onto the old ones.

I'm guessing the bit about Devil's in the Temple relates to the record company boss wanting to give away an album via iTunes or something.
Pretty certain it will relate to the transfer to the digital age.

Great stuff man, very much appreciated!

It sounds like the most honest interview Jon has done in the last 5 years I think. And it had a lot to do with the interviewer. Only answers to Richie questions sounded a bit rehearsed, but I guess that's all I could hope at this point. It's a shame there has been 0 face-to-face meetings between them and only 1 phone call :( I guess they were not very close as a friends after all.

It's going to suck listening to the next 10 years after this one in comparison.

Agreed with most of it. I don't think I've heard Jon say until now that he's lost a friend and a collaborator, it was nice to hear him being human about it instead of the usual "show goes on as always"

I liked the interview. Cleary Jon realises his voice, needs improving to sound better than it has been, I not looking for anything great just a little improvement.

I think Jon deserves praise for continuing, even if musically and vocally he will never reach his past successes. He knows that, but as long as he wants to continue I as a fan will be interested.

Interesting that Jon likes feedback of Albums. I wonder if he took the WAN criticism on board, when he made THINFS. ( Sure, WAN made #1, but fans weren't happy with the music)

People would say Jon is maybe selling out his fans by looking for new ones.....Jon knows he can't do albums of 20 plus years go, nor would he want to. I think it's about embracing who I am now and what I can't and can do musically. If that means fans leave me because I am not who you want me to be of the past so be it.....

I can try, but my english is not very good either xD

Are you Rolo from crushmagazine???

Jon talking about Richie, saying the same as always (he didn't show up that day, etc) He says it was disappointing for the members, for the fans, for the people who work in the tour... and that he hasn't talked to him in person since then, only one time on the phone.

They also talked about his fears and Jon said he knows he can't sing like he used to but he is confident to get it back. This is what I understood.
