Thank you so much for the link sir..
enjoying so much listening the interview and i agreed with most of you here, it's the honest thing i heard, he laughed so hard something i never seen before on the recent interview which he was like keeping distance and stuff and also thumbs up for the man who ask the questions, he is enjoying himself..

I can only say that there is TRUTH about what Jon said, we all know some fans are wanted to have BJ sounds like before the TD KTF SWW era and stuff but i have to agree that This is about business , it would be so naive if we say that "i dont care too much about the money..Well to be keeping in the music business which NEEDS MONEY for record, paying crews and stuff, releasing records they need money, they need to sell something out and i think the key that Bon Jovi manage to survive until today is because they also keeping with today's flavor without changing lines...

well i lived in the era of Guns & Roses, Sepultura, Bon Jovi, Mr Big, Harem Scarem, Def Leppard, Metallica, Skid Row...

Where are they now? Some of them still exist?of course but none of them as still BIG as Bon Jovi to be honest...some of them are having fun with reunion concert..some of them are living in the shadow of their success era..and some of them are trying hard to survive..

i watch Mr Big concert lately and to be honest if they throw concert in open stadium they will barely make a sold out concert..

and i am glad i still get the chance to hear Bon Jovi album rather than some Bieber or Swift album these days..or Simple plan..i am just glad
Different? of course but i can live with that, it's not like i am gonna hear Jon dancing around playing some Dance song..their root is still there and i am happy with that..

i am gonna be those who sit back and enjoy their album, though may be a chance i might skip on2 of two of their songs coz i dont like em but it's fine by me..

i will live with that.. :D
i can wait to hear the Devil in the temple and Born Again Tomorrow or the Scar on the guitars..they both SOUNDS promising

What is a "drop"?

I think it's about embracing who I am now and what I can't and can do musically. If that means fans leave me because I am not who you want me to be of the past so be it.....

But you're twisting the question to justify his answer. BOTH choices were fans embracing the new album. It's just that one choice was only the current fan base loving it, and the other choice was only a brand new group of fans loving it.

He was asked to choose between:

1. This album will be massive amongst fans who are already fans of Bon Jovi but no one new will come to it, or

2. A legion of new people will discover Bon Jovi but your current fans won't get it

I don't quite understand how Jon feels he wouldn't be growing or evolving if he made music that was loved "only" by his current fan base - a fan base that has given him his "130 million albums sold" and "highest grossing world tours" bragging rights. He himself said today, and a million times before, that he couldn't and wouldn't write Bad Name at 54. He has grown and evolved since then. So the current fan base has obviously grown and evolved right along with him and the band over the years.

I realize the question was hypothetical and that obviously neither choice would ever occur solely, but I just find his choice selection a bit ironic considering this entire album is supposed to be about loyalty. If the current fan base (who has been loyal and stuck with them through the highs and lows of their career) loves the album, it's a little disappointing to hear that he'd rather have a whole new group of fans love the album instead.

This heart? This soul? This house.....?

I guess everything to the interview has already been said, I've got nothing really to add. But enjoyed it a lot and am looking forward to tomorrow, and to the 21st of October especially, of course.

No worries, wanted to ask the same question like you though I'm even younger than you are! ;)
I first thought it just might be a bit of complete silence in the music, but as it seems to be a more specific figure or something...

Yeah, me too, and I make music myself. It's just that I don't like EDM, Metal, or wherever it's been listed on Wikipedia to occurr, at all ;-)

Seems to be a something "dropped in" by the producer to mix things up, like another beat or something, if I understood correctly.

Well, thanks for contributing what you know :)
If it is like you described it, it would have probably been Something I would have told jon Not to do If he asked me. But he surprised Us in a positive way before - well, also in negativr ways, but what can We Do? Plus, i have a positive feeling About this... excited to hear it.

In EDM, a drop is the moment where the beat kicks in after a break.

See 4:42 for example:

A "drop" is a feature in a lot of electronic dance music where the beat builds , changing in rhythm, and climaxes with a slight pause and then some kind of rhythmic payoff - if that makes any sense.

I'm not really a fan of that kind of thing, but I'm still intrigued, and fairly excited to hear it. And anyway, I'm sure there'll be other things on the album to enjoy - seems there's going to be decent variety.

After reading this and taking a look at the drop, i think the concept itself is neither good nor Bad. I think it heavily depends on what the band makes out of it.
