To me, it sounds like he was suicidal but found a way to get through it. That was my immediate thought of what that lyric paints a picture of.

The way i interpret it is that he felt tied down but then freed himself. I think that's what so beautiful with these new lyrics: Jon is showing us his raw self instead of the usual polished shell.

Yeah that is my thought - hangman came to mind. Or he was being hung out to dry by Richie leaving. And has finally freed himself of that feeling.

I think Living With The Ghost may be the surprise standout song on the album.

Everything about it is classic Bon Jovi. And it's storytelling without the usual clichés. I like it a lot.

living with the ghost and devil in the temple seem great tracks!!!

i havent listened to the new snippets, watched all 4 promo shows through youtube and tidal though..

living with the ghost especially the bridge and all the lyrics as a whole truly are art not pop roch hit wannabe...and the melodies in the devil are immense.

i think we will really enjoy this record, time will tell, circle sounded great at first, i still like certain songs BUT i dont go back to the songs like in previous stronger albums which passed the test of time!!

ps.there have been 2 q&as with bj, the last 10 days and noone said what was discussed. anyone knows if sth interesting came up? i ve only found a 10 sec fb snippet where they were asked about these days and its dark flavor...jon s answer was standard textbook like all the times they asked him about these days but i wonder if deep down he is surprised about the impact these days had to fans and how many people consider it their musical artistical peak

Devils in the Temple really reminds of me Dirty Little Secret...
That can only be a good thing.

What do we all think of Goodnight New York and I Will Drive You Home?

I don't mind the sound of Goodnight. The music is very uplifting, kinda like Beautiful World. The background guitar riff sounds U2-esque.

I think I Will Drive You Home will need to grow on me. I'll reserve judgement til I hear the full song. I do like the lyric "Maybe some glitter's gone; but we’re still good as gold."

I'm fed up waiting now. I want the full album, no more snippets or peaks. Just release the damn thing already!!

Sigh...

Temple is the life for me. I still sleep with a full album with rock songs how this one. It's not about back to make a record like old times, it's about making a rock record, that song is a great example. Creative and innovative songs in its catalog Rock, fewer ballads of love and forget the sound pop for radio.

I think the chorus to Goodnight NY is a bit weak. It's pleasant enough but I think it's very much a filler song.

I Will Drive You Home has really grown on me. I think it's something that could have been on Destination Anywhere. I like it better than Goodnight NY.
