And you are always the charmer even when you totally hate my opinion. In all seriousness I love Alter Bridge. Been to see them several times. Would love to catch Metallica this tour as I've never seen them live.

Anyone who says the drums are 100 percent pre-programmed please read that interview with the engineer. Tico was there, he contributed and they added a lot of programmed tracks ON TOP.

isnt Bon Jovi like that since 2000? yes,big yes
I like Alter Bridge very much but new Metallica song,no matter how fast and hard is,is copy paste of themselves, they cant change sound like Bon Jovi,U2,RHCP and some others. I really love Metallica, they are in my top 5,but they, just like other old band, lost inspiration!

I had knockout and come on up to our house down as album fillers.

Although I like knockout it's a newer Bounce and COUTOH will probably be a newer TIOH.

I also have goodnight NY & I will drive you home as dirge such as the fighter, not running at the end of WAN.

I'm hoping the darker sounding songs are the gems. Just hope they are These Days type moody rather than boring crap like the end of WAN

This sentence sums it all up...

The new single is to me a St Anger or Death Magnetic left over. It's just...ok.

Metallica in my opinion haven't released anything great since garage days revisited and they weren't even Metallica songs.

Bands just lose their way and can never replicate the golden years. I'm thankful for the new music from Jovi, Metallica etc but let's be honest it's nowhere near their peak and it never will be.

Beginning to think you didn't care for the slow songs at the end of WAN.

Yeah but that was for WAN, as far as this album, it still could be. The drums are what's bothering me more and more about knockout, it's like having an itch or something, you know it's not right. It doesn't even sound like it's using a snare drum anywhere in the song, and it bothers me more because I like the song. That approach isn't unheard of, upping the drums with loops and stuff but, why so much?! Maybe the song wouldn't have worked any other way, it still kind of makes me uncomfortable lol....

There are, what? 18? songs on the record? It's way too early for anyone to assume the worst about the CD or declare the band dead at this point. Knockout sounds too much like a Coldplay song for my taste, but I figure if I don't like one out of 18 songs, it's no big loss. I do, however, think it has great potential as a live song (not that I especially want to hear it live). Some songs are just way better live than they are recorded.

They were good in terms of writing, but the arrangements were pretty bland. Sadly I don't see that changing all too much. Room At The End Of The World could have been huge if recorded by the band's 90s incarnation.

Only I am thinking here that " Scars On My Guitar. " will be WSYCGHome x2?? It's long because Jon put some "alright" things there.
