Vomit inducing. Admittedly, the first line becomes marginally less cringy when you take into account the fact that the song was written for Armageddon. However, on Crush, it loses that context and either way, it's so heavy handed and unsubtle, it's garbage whatever the context.

Worst song on Crush by a distance. Give me Just Older, TST even She's a Mystery over it anyday.

So do you like it or not? :D

When was the last time there was a genuine, memorable rock riff in a BJ song?

I'd consider "Bullet" to have a pretty kickass riff - especially the last 10 seconds. I always crank the volume up for that bit!!

jazzsta 09-13-2016 11:38 AM

we're off subject here, nevertheless it's good to keep the discussion going in absence of more news bout the album.

Save the world is interesting musically, and I can enjoy it in a naive-bj-way, but it's true that if you take it literally, the lyrics are almost stupedious (I think I just made up this word).

Bullet has a nice riff, but as with most of the Circle content, the production and vocal delivery are somewhat sharp and a little disturbing/noisy.

Nothing is as crap as All about loving you. Worst ballad ever.

That being said - the most cringeworthy ballad for me still is Thank You For Loving Me. But AALY is a close second I guess.

Totally agree. Was one of my top songs from Crush. And my favorite line is the one that RonJovi thinks is utter dirge. I think it's very genuine and heartfelt or at least I tell myself that lol!

Matrix15 09-13-2016 03:07 PM

I only just saw the Facebook Q&A. To quote Jon:

"If you liked have a nice day and if you liked these days I think you're gonna love this house is not for sale".

I didn't think Jon would be able to say anything to pique my interest, but the bastards done it!

If THINFS is a crossover of HAND and TD I will eat my head.

Saying that, knockout could be off HAND.

Yeah I meant TYFLM but i hate both.
What pisses me off about TYFLM is the rehash of "These 5 words" line.
That and the utterly shit solo.
Bland and its NEVER been on my ipod. Just like AALY and WSYCGH

back on topic....

Im amazed the sing Knockout still had zero promo - it took a Phil X fan club tweet to confirm it. Crazy.

I think it proves the theory it was simply a release to keep interest in the cd going vs a true single.

Oh Becky! Thanks a lot for your words and your kindness! To tell the truth, I only went to target just for curiosity, based on the It's my faith post. I never try to import anything, because the tax burden is very well know here in Brazil.

I prefer to wait and see what we'll have here. In general, we get the deluxes versions released here in Brazil. Not in the same time, but I will not die for this. lol

Again, thanks for your kindness. I'm sorry that I can't retribute in the same way, as you probably won't need to import anything from brazil..lol
But if you need anything that you may think I can help, count me in. :D

When Jon premiered Reunion it was about 2:49 long. iTunes is saying the album version is 4:14. So what are we getting in the extra 1:25? Curious to hear this one.

I was thinking in this way too..but yesterday I received an email from BonJovi.com, talking about the album pre-order, and saying:

"Bon Jovi’s new album, This House Is Not For Sale, now available for pre-order on iTunes or Amazon! Instantly receive their album’s title-track “This House Is Not For Sale” and newest single, “Knockout”!"

Was thinking that. I actually like the "take pictures each step of the way" melody. I hope the band version doesn't just plod along

I actually read it just like you at first but I think it's poorly worded. I think that they are saying the title track and newest single is THINFS and that Knockout is available for download but hey you never know. :)

It is on a par with Hey Jude compared to nonsense like This Is Our House. Can't stand that song.

18 tracks meaning it also includes Touch Of Gray? Nice!

It's one of the better songs on Crush. It doesn't tick the formula of big choruses + guitar solo but I'm fine with that.

Alphavictim 09-14-2016 12:33 AM

Hopefully I'll be able to pick that one up in Vienna as well, but I'm rather optimistic as far as that's concerned.

Now these 18 songs just need to be GOOD...

I'm not sure if, where, when this was posted here but if it wasn't, here you go...

A little insight. Esp about the tour. Interesting!!!

Edit: someone stuck it in the tour section but because it's not only about the tour, I'm leaving it here...

Interesting indeed. Looks like a couple of European festival shows would be the perfect way to go if a full fledge tour isn't on their plans. Maybe a couple of arena shows to fill in the gaps. But maybe he's just in the dreading the traveling phase and once he gets a rythm going he c o uld change his mind....

I like that he (eventually) acknowledged the others and said 'we' in the first interview.

I hope they do tour - even if his voice sucks it's still a good time. I enjoyed the concerts I went to on the Asia tour and the BWC tour. It may not be great compared to the past but I still enjoy them.

By the way placed and order limited edition THINFS include 18 songs and DVD but run out postcard...oh well

CRUSH i think was a great album..Lots of songs that although seemed funny on lyrics but i'll take it anyday.

1. It's my life
2. Say It sint so
3. TYFLM
4. Just Older
5. Save The world
6. She's a mystery
7. Mystery Train
Well almost all of them are my favs til now..

BWC was the one i couldnt understand until now..
well it so full of politics to me behind that album and NO FUN
and Richie's interlude sounds like HANSON still i stick on my opinion

The only song that i like was Room at the end of the world..Sounds like Enrique Iglesias Heartbeat..that's ok to me than BWC or WAN

I'm waiting for that too. I've had a look on Media Markt's website, but nothing going at the minute...

That's to be expected, here in Austria though ;) No doubt it'll appear sooner or later on there, or maybe just go into the shop and ask one of the 'experts' ;)

Jon has had a few #1 tours in his career, but he’s not so sure he’ll do a big blow out tour for this album. “Perhaps, not necessarily… I haven’t honestly decided.” He went on, “We’ll go out, but not to the extent that historically we have done.”
Honestly, I don't believe him for a second. He said the same before Lost Highway and then it turned out to be the biggest tour of 2008. Also, they're getting older and their popularity is steadily going downhill, it's one of the last chances they have to make big money out of a tour..

Anyway, the presidential campaign is going to clash with the promo for THINS: I sure hope Jon will focus on the album and won't use the promo shows to shove his political views down our throat!

Right. Even If i were an American, nothing he Says could convince me to vote for Clinton. It would be just plain annoying, as it already is right now.

Perhaps their popularity wouldn't be going downhill as fast if they weren't doing these huge tours as fast. 2006, 2008, 2010-2011, 2013. That's 4 huge tours in 7 years! Compare this to U2 or Stones. Bon Jovi could be less wealthy and more popular if they didn't oversaturate the demand as much as they had, but they chose the short-term benefits.

Not that anyone here cares what I think, but as a liberal, I hope it's the opposite.

Considering the album is done and 'focus on the album' at this point just means doing more promotional appearances, which are meaningless anyways.

These days he's much better at speaking than singing

Ditto, the way he said it certainly didn't seem like there would be no tour to me. They simply have to find what venues they can sell as the new band with the new album. It was on the cusp in 2013 and that was with some hope for Sambora being back. Either less shows or smaller venues, that's what needs to be sorted out with their promoters.

jovifan85 09-14-2016 11:42 AM

I think if Bon Jovi, are to continue Jon realises his voice can't take touring as he used to. That means fans missing out unfortunately with lesser tours and venues. One slight positive I hope, is Jon's voice hopefully will be in better shape. No excuse now for poor vocals when touring.

It's not a matter of left or right, it's a matter of keeping politics out of music.

What I meant is that I want to hear the facts and stories behind the album and the songs; how he came up with a title, how he came up with a lyiric, how they worked in the studio. Not the same old boring political speeches.

In the good ol' days they used to do track-by-track interviews, now it's all Hillary and blah blah blah.

I am pretty sure most of these interviews have got questions that have been discussed before the ineterview. The questions and the answers are always almost the same in every interview.
