Loving this track. Jon's voice is in a comfortable range and it sounds nice and clean. Good job :)

Bon Jovi - Come On Up to Our House - Count Basie - Red Bank - Oct 1 2016 - YouTube

The bridge melody is quite similar to It's Hard Letting You Go. I like it :-)

I got it, I got it, I got it!!!!!! I knew it was very easy

"I will wait" by Mumford & Sons
Identical chorus, like absolutely identical :o

Now I can listen to Reunion and pay attention hehe

The Devils In The Temple - Just freaking rocks...

Scars On This Guitar ----- Labor Of Love ----- Reunion

I have to give Jon some serious credit... He really found himself with this album... Call it a Bon Jovi album, Call it a solo album, It's really just a mixture of both but it totally works... It's different and I think it's even better than DA... For a guy who lost his voice and his right hand man, he still manged to push forward and not only put together a great bunch of songs but he really put on a great performance the other night... That is one dude that will NEVER give up...

Yes, I can't stop listening to the Count Basie Show! Weakest song on Album for me is Knockout. Even Reunion I like! After fearing WAN 2.0, Jon has produced his best Album since TD, both diffferent era's of course! Just so Happy as a Fan after hearing THINFS!

Rollercoaster is not my kind of song, reminds me of other pop songs like Summertime. and I hate Summertime.

But Scars on This guitar is fantastic, has grown a lot in me, and I can not stop listening, I hope that this well-produced, live sounds great to me.

Devils is great too. But the begining, is ... a little loose, as the beginning of I Want To Be Loved, although the guitar does its job well.

Come On Up To Our House not bad, Jon's voice is nice.

I hope in the next show play some of the other bonus, Touch Of Grey, I Will Drive You Home, Goodbye NY.

But this album still has that pop touch that fails, I would prefer a more rock vision, something more raw.

I think there are 5/6 songs that should have been singles:
Born Again Tomorrow.
Rollercoaster
The Devil's in the Temple
Scars on this Guitar
God Bless this Mess
Real Love

I meant official single releases. I know that you can buy songs on the album when it's released, but some of these songs people will never hear, unless your a Bon Jovi fan.

As of now, I gotta say... the songs sound pretty effortless, but in a good way. As much as I like Bounce, a lot of that record sounds rather "constructed", trying a tad too hard. These songs have a very natural flow to them, very pop as opposed to pompous.

Shitdamn, I'm actually excited about the album now.

You perfectly summed up my feelings, for the first time since 2009 I'm really looking forward to a release.

You're totally out of your mind calliing it better than Destination Anywhere. People may not like it for being poppy, but is a masterpiece in the songwriting aspect as well with arrangement.

I don't think DA is a masterpiece by any means... There are a few gems on it but as an overall album it's just okay... There is too much going on with the production. Thank goodness for the live versions... I guess something never change.

Amen brother !
and he don't run!

One thing that i really notice that when he said that he don't wanna write You give love anymore and he should evolve
I think this album has very rich words in it..so powerful and so poetic in every angle, some songs has very heavy words (in good way) and i like this alot etc All hail the king, the lyrics is so W.O.W and i am just glad that most of us love this new album..can't wait for the studio version since it's not 100% clear with the sounds that we heard in YT and stuff..

JOVI7826 10-04-2016 10:00 AM

At last...After so many years I think it is safe to say that the band put out a very good album...I mean...This House Is Not For Sale...Scars On This Guitar...Born Again Tomorrow...New Year's Day...Roller Coaster...Reunion...The Devil's In The Temple...God Bless This Mess...All Hail The King...Real Love...We Don't Run(Except we already knew this was good)...Awesome songs...And I could go on...I think they nailed it this time...Jon seemed so confident about it...And I think he was right...

I don't think Bounce sounds constructed at all. Bounce had an organic feel and is a better record than most give it credit for.

So this time we only have two slow songs (3 with real love) and both of them are good. That's positive, and it sounds a lot more varied too than for ex. HAND that got a bit repetitive towards the end.
Might end up at the best album post 2000 :)

Still cuirious about the three last tracks, maybe some slow acoustic ones..but hope for at least one more rocker.

Just had a look at the YouTube comments for THINFS, well recieved.

However, fans on Bon Jovi's own Facebook page are less complimentary!

Seriously!

They say it's Boring! Not listening due to Richie leaving or not as good b/c Richie's not on it?, I Want Jon to produce a album like the 80's/90's, Jon's political support for Hiliary Clinton is why I won't listen/buy THINFS Album etc.

It should be......Well done the Band on a good album! I am stunned. What do they want? Jon said he can't/won't sing like the 80's/90's anymore. THINFS Is the best they have done since These Days, I hope this album is what we get musically as they go on.....sure a WAN type songs may get thrown in, but who cares if they could produce another album like THINFS?

Yeah, those fans are jumping the gun a bit, expecting too much. But other fans, a lot on here for example, are doing the same in the other direction.

Best since These Days is a sweeping statement that comes too early in this cycle. Equally, those who say that this is an awesome album, or I love this song etc.

I am generally happy with what I have heard so far. However, I think it takes a long time for an album to settle and to make lasting judgments. A lot of things can change, even how the songs go over live can change perceptions of some tracks on an album.

This is an encouraging start to the THISNFS cycle for sure, but I would think giving some breathing room to the album before saying best since ...., or this is the best song of .... etc.

I very much agree with this. With WAN, I was having quite high hopes after the promo show in Stuttgart and was very disappointed with how the album sounded in the end.
With The Circle, I jumped the gun and called it instantly the best album since These Days, only to discover that it wore off very quickly after the first two weeks or so.
So this time, I'll hold judgement as to where to rank the album until it has settled a bit after its release.

Rdkopper 10-04-2016 04:59 PM

My only concern is.....Jon proved that he could sing this entire album from start to finish. He wasn't perfect by any means but he also showed us that he doesn't need to rely on digital auto tune vocals with an overproduction to mask his voice. Jon could give us a more natural sound if he was produced right...

There are quite a few here with the same opinion ;)

steel_horse75 10-04-2016 06:19 PM

THINFS has had 1.5m streams on Spotify but One republics Kids has 22m
Olly Murs You Dont Know Love (good little pop song that) has had just over 26m streams

I think the glory days have long gone!

Bounce7800 10-04-2016 06:26 PM

Would help if the song got on the radio and was on the "new music" playlists. Unless you're searching for Bon Jovi, you wouldn't know it's on there

If by 'glory days' you mean sales alone, then yes that's true (and not at all surprising). I look at it from a different perspective, (because I don't have to worry about revenue), and I think that the band can still produce quality music.

Jon has all but admitted that the last few releases have been a Jon Bon Jovi & Shanks collaboration. There have been some gems on those ventures too but the return to a band production, to whatever degree that may be, has borne fruit.

Some of the glory is still there to be tapped into :)

Kids is their second single. The lead single (Wherever I Go) has 144m. Remember when they supported Jovi several times in the 2000s?

It's better to compare Jovi against other veteran bands (active for 20+ years) and their recent lead singles:
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Dark Necessities - 48,2 m
Blink 182 - Bored To Death 33,2 m
Green Day - Bang Bang - 8,1 m
Metallica - Hardwired - 7,9 m

So yeah, they're pretty screwed at this point. That's paying the price for 15 years of market over-saturation.

Green day was the same day. Not sure on the others.

It's not quality that's the issue, it's just about getting picked up on a Spotify playlist or radio/tv. Green day seem a few years younger than Jovi, they are at hand/lh stage of their career I would say

Is Metallica though? Nope, they're even older. But they are in those playlists, because them putting out new music feels like a big deal.

Green Day had new music in 2004, 2009, 2012 and 2016.
Metallica: 2003, 2008, 2016
Bon Jovi: 2002, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2013, 2015, 2016.

I didn't say quality is the issue. It's the frequency of releases. And when they are as frequent, they receive less and less attention; thus contributing to the reputation of being mediocre. Jon is too productive for his own good.

Green Day and Metallica yes, the same week actually. RHCP and Blink songs are 2-3 months older, but let's be realistic. THINFS will not get even close to these numbers even in a year from now.

What really scares me is the fact that the whole album was writen to fit the state of his voice, so he's doing ok on thise songs (though he lets the band tackling a lot of vocals during choruses, check out THINFS as an example), but what is he going to do on the classic songs? He needs to take lessons like back in 2010, maybe that will help. Or it's going to be painful. And he knows it, hell he even wrote a lyric about it on the album.

I'm sure Jon works on his voice. But no amount of training will get his voice back to sing the classics how they were recorded. 2010, 2011 ( The Greatest Hits Tour) he sounded good, unfortunately 2013 (WAN Tour) was mixed and 2015 short asia tour was horrendous.

THINFS isn't difficult for Jon to sing, due to him writing around his voice like you said. The classics he will always struggle with, you just have to wish for the best when he performs these. But Jon can sing/write good songs just look at THINFS Album. It's highly unlikely Jon will have Vocal surgery, unless he really wants to, but why? THINFS is what fans should judge Jon on now carrying on, not the past.

If Jon can produce a HAND, TC, and THINFS type of songs in the future I will be happy, it's the best we are ever going to get from him. Also as your get older you don't write the songs you did in your 20's or early 30's. Like Jon has said it would be stupid to rewrite or do something similar to livin' on a prayer at his age. Even if he did have that voice, I doubt he would have written a song like that today, but we will never know.

I didn't say quality is the issue. It's the frequency of releases. And when they are as frequent, they receive less and less attention; thus contributing to the reputation of being mediocre. Jon is too productive for his own good.

Metallica is a different genre. If BJ put out a rockier album and promoted it as such, I think there would be a bigger hype.

Jon isn't capable of Rock anymore not what he used to do in 80's/90's.

HAND, TC and THINFS is the best he is capable of, unless he decides to ever have voice surgery.
