It's got nothing to do with Jon now....the CDs will have been distributed all over the world and someone is waiting for the go-ahead to get them out on the shop floor. If someone happens to get their hands on a copy and uploads it, then the deed has been done and no-one, not even Jon, can stop it spreading.

I think it'll leak in the next 10 or so days. Just a feeling.

The last album of Alter Bridge was leaked a month before the release, the last Bon Jovi albums are not leaked up to a week before. They have a very effective strategy for their albums do not leak, maybe Jon has nothing to do, but they know very well protect their new releases.

Before the album leaking, we will know 30 seconds of each song on the album.

You're right that the last 3 albums didn't leak until around a week before their release. However, I somehow have the feeling that it might be different this time. There seem to be so many copies already out there. If I understood it correctly, even all the attendees of the Ellen Show got one.

The didn't get one right away. Everyone from the audience will get one when the album is released....

That's. It would be very stupid to give a lot of copies when still a month to launch.

bucketfinck 10-11-2016 02:38 PM

Do you think we will get another new song next Friday?
We have gotten a new song every two weeks starting with knockout, then Labor of love and Born again tomorrow.

Maybe New years day or Come on up to our house then since they have made videos to those?

bucketfinck 10-11-2016 02:38 PM

I am also intrigued by the studio version of Come on up..it sounded more irish with violins and accordion

Yep, I think on Friday 21 launch another song. I wish it were Devils and God Bless, I have curious as for sound on the record.

Forgive me if it has been answered already...but why was the album release date delayed? I saw Jon's message about it aligning with tour date pre-sales, but what does that have to do with Europe?

They're never going to confirm this officially, but an educated guess is that has to do with other artists that are releasing their albums in these weeks. Original week would have them competing with Lady Gaga and someone else, while 2 weeks later it's much less competition for the no. 1 spot.

Lady Gaga release her album the same day so Jon can say whatever he want, the delay is to get the number 1 album in the charts for sure.

crobb991 10-11-2016 11:51 PM

I don't think gagas album has anything to do with it... would hope they would quietly sneak another disc... With a live recording of one of those shows... like in the tour edition of lost highway

Even Real Love I like - I liked Blind Love on Burning Bridges, think it's a really pretty song but some of the lyrics just made me cringe (gunny sack and boots on?? what?) - but this seems to be the same song just lyrically stronger.

Savvi 10-12-2016 02:24 PM

It annoys me that House and God Bless This Mess sound so similar.

My favourites are definitely Roller Coaster, Born Again Tomorrow and Living With a Ghost.

Kova 10-12-2016 03:07 PM

I think they (Jon) made a great decision in playing full album before a release.

1. it brings anticipation
2. storytelling approach makes people more interested in songs and they can understand them better
3. along with no2. it gets the fans to connect to the songs better (relate to them).

That's why we all like most of the songs. Hell, I do.. I think the House might be like in the bottom of my list - and I like it.

My favs are:
- Devil's in the temple
- Born again tomorrow
- Scars on this guitar
- Knockout
- Labor of love
- Rollercoaster
- New years day
- God bless this mess
- Living with a ghost

Which is 9 songs!

Last time I liked 9 songs from the album was Bounce (Undivided, Distance, Missunderstod, Joey, All about loving you, Right side of wrong, Love me back to life, You had me from hello, Bounce)

Notice how 1st singles (House, Everyday) are not on those lists.

Jon is really terrible in choosing singles. Imagine if BAT, Scars, Devil and Mess/Ghost where the singles on THINFS! :D

Ironically I never cared too much for Blind Love, but really liked Real Love upon first listen :)

Kova 10-12-2016 03:14 PM

Oh yeah, and WDR is the best single they could have had since HAND, or even IML.

Another poor judgement by Jon. Same as for This is love, this is life, or Undivided.. Can't forget that.

Yeah, I definitely get that 'the distance' and 'love me back to life' vibe of similarities from these 2 songs also. Sleep and blame it on the love also. Oh and last cigarette and story of my life...

What makes it all the more strange is the key was dropped a bit so they can do THINFS live and it put it right into God Bless This Mess territory chord wise. It may help their case when they sound different on the album.

James_86 10-12-2016 04:31 PM

Blind Love has to be the early version of Real Love, way too similar. I don't agree with the comparisons between The Distance and Love Me Back To Life however. They couldn't be more different if they tried.

On the subject of inspiration for the new songs, I've seen a few posts mention that the issues with Jon's daughter hasn't inspired one or two. I have a hunch I Will Drive You Home may address that.

Agree to disagree I guess. Both in Drop D, both with similar chord structure, the riffs are so similar.

The breakdown after the second chorus also. Whenever people can't hear the similarities between those songs or between IML and Bounce I feel like Mugatu at the end of the first Zoolander, "It's the same look!! Doesn't anyone see that!? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!!"

Indeed.

The Distance is the best song on Bounce IMO. Should still be a live staple.

On the new songs, I absolutely adore Scars. Anybody else getting a Bitter Wine vibe from it?

I am big time. When Jon said TD meets HAND I think Scars and Labor of Love had a lot to do with that comparison. Maybe the Come on up to our house melody too.

Certainly those two have a These Days feeling and given that it's my favourite album of all time, that sentiment sits very well.

I've only listened to Come On Up To Our House once so far so unfortunately can't comment on that one.

Jeeper 10-12-2016 05:11 PM

Really hopeful this is going to be a solid album. I especially love New Years Day and Scars On This Guitar.

Really want to hear the preview snippets.

9 songs from 18 ;) I get what you're saying though and the only ones I'm struggling with are All Hail The King, God Bless This Mess and New Year's Day. I was non-plussed by Born Again Tomorrow, but the studio version is top draw stuff compared to the generic live version....

Yes, they are very similar songs, musically speaking.

Isn't the German Media Markt version listed with having 18 tracks?

Yes it is :) Obviously not heard it yet, but it's still a potential of 50% ;)

Bleeding Purist 10-12-2016 08:33 PM

Random thought: I hope that the version of "We Don't Run" on THINFS is re-mixed. Why have the exact same song on two studio albums? Give it a bit more value by offering up a different version to set them apart.

Well if you want to think of it as negatively as possible, sure, but really 15 songs, 14 brand new, liking 9 out of 14 is pretty darn good. It's not possible to be 50% until they're heard.

Rage of Angels

Captain_jovi 10-12-2016 09:05 PM

Rage of Angels. Both that and All we are was just assumptions that they were for this project. We don't know that for sure so I don't consider them associated with this album.
