Sorry I did not see your post

THINFS is so catchy, I swear to God when I hear it i hum it for an hour or so.

For me this is the best single they have released since HAND, it's a shame that Jon's voice is shot. I would've really liked to hear him sing this between 2005-2011.

symbeline 10-14-2016 11:59 PM

That was a very good THINFS.

It's a pretty solid song, works on the album, works live. A welcome change :D

Walleris 10-15-2016 12:11 AM

Not sure I get the praise for THINFS. It's exactly the same performance as in Ellen with Jon bailing on the same notes in the chorus and only singing the easy parts. I guess the backup vocals are a bit louder here than on Ellen, so that's why it's better? Anyway, it's just acoustics/mixing, the performance itself is identical.

On the other hand, Who Says was quite decent and sounded like 2013, unlike the London or Microsoft show.

Becky 10-15-2016 05:12 AM

I'm slowly giving in to temptation and listening to a snippet or a song here and there. I just listened to Rollercoaster and it was amazing. Who the hell picked Knockout for a single? From what I've heard so far it must be the worst song on the album.

Rdkopper 10-15-2016 05:29 AM

Real Love is a great song... Better than Blind Love IMO... It actually reminds me of the Soul Truth... I always wonder when Jon sings these songs today if we are just getting the TLFR version of what could be an amazing song 20 years ago...

I really think they are doing an A+ job promoting this album... Really utilizing social media to the max...

I've come around to Real Love as well.

But there's a lyric in All Hail The King which really bothers me.

"Poor man has his money, the rich man has his gold... "

How does a poor man have money? Isn't that what makes him poor?

Am I missing something?

it's like a conclusin IMO
(when) poor man FIND his money and (finally) rich man has his gold
(but) All hail the king whose fortune is his soul (not his money or gold)

he wanted to say something that there's a balance when people want to share to each other, the poor man finally has his money and rich man has his gold (something better than money) all hail the king..all the people who dont measure everything by money..and willing to share ..willing to give..willing to bless one another...IMO..may be someone has a better opinion..becaue if i am not mistaken it's about JBJ soul foundation right ?

Manbou 10-15-2016 09:41 AM

I would Say Gold ranks higher in value than money, due to the fiat System. so people who can afford it more likely secure their possessions in Gold while "poor men" only got money.
I doubt that jon thought of that while writing the Song, though. ;)

It sounded fine in London as the backing vocals were high enough up in the mix to not notice Jon not singing them, whereas on Ellen they were so low it sounded dreadful. If the mix is right, they can make it work.

Reunion is a nice surprise. Hopefully the album version is similar to it's recent live performances. (that repetitive guitar lick can go though)

I mean the nice surprise is the promo show versions being more band driven as opposed to just Jon and his acoustic! I hope the album version is very similar to what we heard in the last two shows. (apart from that guitar lick which is overused!)

nikos greece 10-15-2016 01:12 PM

I think this album is another example when the band takes the time to work and revisit their songs the result is improved. the lyrics the arrangements the nuances of every song seem better worked with attention to detail. of course jons vocal delivery limits some songs but still a well crafted song passes the test of time. these days was redone with different producers, rerecorded guitars etc.. hand was said it wasn't good enough and they reworked it, while bounce and wan (ok bounce was better not a good album imo) were finished in time frames and didn't have the time to revisit again and again the same project

Jeeper 10-15-2016 01:33 PM

To think BJ will most probably be beaten to No1 by Robbie Williams. Have you heard his new song? Wow. But not in a good way.

Robbie Williams is a bigger name here these days. Not more famous necessarily but more popular on radio/music video channels and in the written press.

You'd be surprised how little coverage BJ get in the UK generally.

It's a pretty decent assumption - Robbie's extremely popular in the UK and has a very big fanbase here though like any artist no longer in their prime it's dwindling much like Jovi's does.

Rdkopper 10-15-2016 06:15 PM

Anyone else getting a Loves The Only Rule vibe from Rollercoaster????

Robbies not the force he was and his new stuff is pretty crap. They could do it with a decent smash at promotion such as Strictly and all over the radio/music channels. Otherwise, about the 15th no. 2 album in a row!

He may not be but I think he will still sell out Bon Jovi by a fair bit.

As rubbish as the new single may be, it is still getting a fair bit of play. He has already been on a chat show or two as well.

Highly likely that he will be on X Factor too.

I'm kind of in love with real love! I can't wait to hear the studio version with what I'm assuming is one of the reasons why Lorenza Ponce was in the studio with them at the end....

Yup! When Matt listed it as his number 1 pick, I completely agreed. I actually love the album as a whole with it being quite the journey and wide variation in styles, but something about the driving groove and that chorus in NYD just wins me every time. I cannot wait to hear the studio version.
