In that interview there's a portion that reads like this:

With the best state of health one maybe can put 9 new songs into a 25-song setlist, the other 16 have to come from the back catalogie. That's how I see it. You cannot play all the hit ballads on one day, that's too many slow songs. "Living on a Prayer" and "Wanted Dead Or Alive" must be played always, there's no way around it. But you can play "Always" on one evening, "Bed of Roses" the next, then "I'll Be There For You". That's how it works.

So, what can we learn from this? - They might be/are planning 25-song setlists.
- It is possible that there will be played up to 9 new songs per show (which would be nice, hope it will stay that way)
- Concerning that "Health" point: I would interpret it that way, that "health" is mainly Jon's voice, and that if his voice is bad, there will be more new songs on the set.
- So we can say one of the reasons for the plan to play so relatively many new songs is certainly Jon's voice (nothing really new, though)
- It is still possible that Jon will go for Bed of Roses or even Always.
That's my quick analysis. The rest of the interview tells us nothing new, afaik. |
