Now that's the epitome of a loyal fan supporting the band. Hopefully you will receive it sooner than 04NOV2016. ;)
Which is the 3rd version if two are from Target, & iTunes?

None are from Target. The 1st physical copy was ordered weeks ago by my wife, unaware there were deluxe versions!

So a 2nd was ordered with the bonus tracks. (HMV & AMAZON)

Gotcha!!
I'm so pleased with this album as a whole that I'm purchasing 5 Target exclusive copies this Friday and sending them off to family and friends this Christmas.

That's nice of you. I'll no doubt purchase a copy with all bonus tracks on too. I'm quite tempted in getting it (all albums) on vinyl as well.

I might check buying individual songs on Amazon. How does it count towards album sales? Like streaming where X downloads counts as a purchase? I'm not sure if buying only a few songs counts as a whole album purchase

And I might also check HMV today... just in case... because sometimes one is not enough haha. Well, I must admit I've been a terrible fan lately, got TC (the special edition with the documentary), the GH, WAN and BB for less than £20 altogether. May as well start behaving again, just in case they have my name on a blacklist or something

Lucas_Roli 10-31-2016 05:21 PM

Touch Of Grey sounds like it's a B-side from Bounce to my ears.

Vinyl is so tempting although I wish they had BB included in that boxset. Plus, I would need to buy a record player for the first time since the early 80's.lol
I must say though, just to hear the catalog with that warm, mahogany-rich sound would be fantastic.

Hmmm....not sure how individual song purchases are counted, actually.

In all honesty, apart from the 100,000,000 Box Set, maybe the NJ double and the Crossroad one, most of my CD's are in need of being replaced. They just don't get cared for when there's a 2yr old about!

Same! I have old vinyl copies of NJ & SWW but haven't owned a record player for 20yrs or so.

I've never heard a better sounding album than the vinyl copy of NJ played on my cousins huge stack system.

I hear that.
Man.....
I may just have to restablish a vinyl collection and this boxset release should be the ideal reason why to do just that.

It's not cheap. I would really like to hear the other albums on Vinyl though.

I remember as a kid constantly putting that needle back so I could repeat listen to "Children Of The Damned" off Iron Maiden's "The Number of The Beast album". Ha! Good days.

Right you are.
$350+ here in the states, I believe.
Hell yeah!!
I'm a huge Iron Maiden fan.
Children of the Damned is a great song.
Fond memories of playing Maiden with friends on Vinyl back in the day as well.
My parents despised it.lol

See to me, the entire album is cleverly influenced by splashes of 21st Century day music.
So if you are not into Coldplay, Interpol, The Strokes, The Killers, Keane, Bastille, Kings of Leon, and even Daft Punk, then the ending of I Will Drive You Home, and songs like New Years Day, Knockout, and Born Again Tomorrow may be tougher to accept or get into.

All the mentioned bands make my ears bleed and I think BJ should be the trendsetters not the copycats. That's just sad. And the main reason for me for not likeing most of THINFS

I could make the argument that their 80's sound was influenced/copycating(according to you) by artist from 60's, 70's, and early 80's as well. Just because those bands I previously mentioned, apparently make your ears bleed, doesn't make them a poor choice to influence 2016 Bon Jovi. It's your opinion those bands stink, not mine, and ultimately limits your ability to think openly about this album or any modern day music for that matter.

You need to do your research.
Here's 10 bands/albums that you should listen to prior to making such a bold claim.
1. Tame Impala (Lonerism)
2. The Struts (Everybody Wants)
3. My Morning Jacket (Still Moves)
4. The Shins (Port of Morrow)
5. Alabama Shakes (Boys & Girls)
6. Interpol (Antics)
7. The New Pornographers (Twin Cinema)
8. Michael Kiwanuka (Love & Hate)
9. Dredg (Catch Without Arms)
10. Rival Sons (Great Western Valkyrie)
Just to name a few off hand.
If you haven't listened to these bands/albums then your opinion doesn't carry a lot a weight with me.

It s the sad truth IMHO. Those bands don't hold a candle to legends like Queen/Zep/Purple/Van Halen/Kiss etc etc.

The sadder the fact that BJ are trying to emulate them at their stage of their career. It is rather silly.

I listened to some of them. RIval SOns ist just a copy of Doors and others trying too hard to be retro. This whole "Let's sound like the 70's" is rather forced IMHO.
The Struts I might buy as their singer has some Queen & Freddie Mercury vibe which is never a bad sign.

The rest are either meh or I dunno them ;) WHat also bothers me that those bands are just interchangable - no star quality whatsoever. YOu might meet them in the subway and won't recognize them. I rather prefer some originals larger than life ;)

Cannot see anything of the bands I know from your list in 2016 Jovi. Surely no RIval Sons influence anywhere ;)

That's really funny, considering I have heard 6 of the 10 albums you listed here. The Kiwanuka's album is proabably my 2016 favorite.

Meanwhile, you should do research on 'irony', because my post was clearly to compliment your argument and make fun of hardwired70 outdated rhetoric. I listen to as much new music as anyone.

Right on. Now I agree with some of this. The overall total package of bands these days is pretty nonexistent. They do lack a certain charismatic factor. Luke Spiller from The Struts is the exception though. He's the real deal in my book.
You have to remember that bands in the 60's, 70's, & 80's had the ability to be more original simply due to not having as much music in their genre and beyond they could end up sounding similar to.
Naturally bands now are going to sound like somome else. Rival Sons has more of a Zeppelin sound to me yet they do it way better than Whitesnake and copycats from the 80's who I actually dig as well.

My apologies. I didn't catch that sarcasm in your post and I do know what irony means.lol
Appreciate that we are on the same page in regards to the state of modern day music.

It has gone a bit off track here yet it did originate from the sound/production of the new album and it's influences.

Jack27 10-31-2016 07:18 PM

Can anyone else get the Labor of Love video on Tidal? Mine shows when I'm logged out but as soon as I log in it disappears. It showed once but when I clicked on it I had a message "This item is no longer available".

I just tried it on my phone and it works fine...plays right away.

Kukoc7 10-31-2016 07:24 PM

Some of the so-called off topic discussion here is to simply educate Jovi fans of where the production on the new album may derive from.
I also think bickering may be a bit harsh. I think we have a relatively healthy debate going here. I don't see any personal bashing going on like I did a few days ago.

There's genres of music that weren't even around when Queen, Zeppelin or Kiss started out. Of course for "classic hard rock" the classics are still gonna be held in high regard, because they are obviously the blueprint for that type of music. But just like Queen were wildly different from Chuck Berry, the music that came afterwards, while it may not appeal to fans of the "original", had its own merits.

Picked up my copy today. There's a version with just Touch Of Gray as the bonus track that was... 13.99 I think? Got the 18 track version, though, for obvious reasons. The sticker lists Born Again Tomorrow in addition to the things we already knew would be singles. So no additional exposure to Rollercoaster. Bummer.

I also just realized that Real Love is not on the regular version of the album. HUGE loss IMO. But it was announced as ballad-free, afterall.
