I agree that the choice of words in responses can be better utilized with more cognizant thinking yet as of late,
some of the opinions on this board have been so outlandish and misinformed frankly I completely understand the frustration. I certainly support objective opinions but I find some of the views to be on the cusp of comedy.

As usual you did not read what I was writing...but I forgive you :)

Jon is a contender for what? SUrely not for a great singer and frontman anymore. I applause his charity work though. Maybe he should put even more effort in that. Musically he is done. THINFS and those performances lateley prove that immensely

It is all about quality not numbers. Even RD says Jons voice is shot. Jon even sings it in one of the new songs. Sure the record is a matter of taste but you cannot say they are still top notch performers when the voice is shot and the singer is glued in front of the mic 90% of the show.

Look, I know Rouge One won't be as good as the original trilogy going into this movie. It's impossible for anything to touch those movies... I will enjoy the movie as a standalone film and just hope it could match my expectations... There are always those annoying fans who just live in the past and see everything as black or white... There is no grey... You are that dude...

The Rising ain't no BTR but it surely holds a candle to his older stuff. And he did not sell out and is doing a COldplay imitation just like BJ does. It is believable. Put WAN or THINFS beside the first 5 records. The dropping in quality is shameful. Don't live in denial. All you guys say "yes they are mediocre now but I can live with it". Why should I lower my standards and accept the current sad state of a "Band" - just because they were great 20 years ago???? ? I heard someone sing "farewell to mediocrity"......

TAALS is a great ballad - bluesy with an edge. Surely not one of this "BJ by numbers" stuff.

You ignored me last time. So I'll ask again - why are you here? If they're done with music, why sign up and post 120+ times in less than a week? The majority of which are criticising and, more significantly, taking pot-shots at Jon and the band?

Simply because refusing to lower standards and accept reality while still actively following the band in forums and whatnot results in being a miserable whiner and one with no better use for its time and energy.

An analogy that comes to my head is a woman who complains about her husband being abusive while he's still her husband. Accept the new reality or move on.

rosa3 11-02-2016 08:12 AM

I think were giving this Hardwired 70 too much attention, lets just let it go, its obviously a troll that is trying to be annoying, he or she has no clue, but this person won't admit and won't care, this person is obviously bored and has nothing else going on.

hardwired_70 11-02-2016 08:13 AM

Hm harsh comparison don't you think? SO you say they are mediocre now but I am loyal and stiuck to mediocrity. Ok - some do some donÄt. Still love their work until 1995 so that does not disqualify me as a fan. I am - just not a blind
follower. Big difference to me!

That is actually quite an awesome analogy for me! My dad spent the last 7 years of his life in a wheelchair and they are a lot closer to my heart than a Ferrari is, so many memories (more good ones than sad ones!

The same applies with this band, you could name many out there who could outperform them, their music is just a lot closer to me than all those amazing musicians, i think thats what matters in the end when it comes to art and music, isnt it?

So let that wheelchair roll!

Show is divided in 2 parts: 7pm and 8pm. It's missing Bad Medicine and Who Says but I don't think any of us care

Enjoy :p

Thanks man, I'm recording that right now. But while the overall quality is good, it's quite compressed/low bitrate. But nevertheless probably the best quality we're gonna get of this :-)

Once we get this out, let's put a poll/thread together as to what SBD performances are better between London and NYC (I really hope a Red Bank one surfaces)...

I thought the Bootleg of London was better than the SBD of NYC

I'd have to listen to both again (but can't do that right now for obvious reasons ;-)) to comment on that...

The London quality (I bet it's SBD, too BTW) is great overall, except for a little white noise, but that can be filtered out and is only noticeable when it's really quiet. The problem is when songs get loud and/or there's a lot of HiHat involved, then it gets a little quiter and/or sounds distorted. And I believe that's due to bitrate/compression, but I could be wrong of course...

Bounce7800 11-02-2016 04:08 PM

Born Again Tomorrow is much better on the London show.

It will be re-aired on NDR2 in Germany next Monday at 9pm. So we might get a proper lossless FM version of it after all ;)

Cool, though I'd have to record that via the web stream, too, because I no longer have any kind of radio (other than in the car) ;-)

But I took a listen, and the quality of the London broadcast is way better than the New York one (not so dumb, much more brilliant). If we could get this even better, it would be perfect, but it's quite good as it is already.

When you are addressed by a Mod regarding conduct, you do "owe" an explanation. You are on final warning. The Mods are not going to tolerate flaming, name-calling, abusive-language, or disrespect towards other members. You're teetering way at the edge. Respect the board and members. It's a lot more enjoyable for everyone, yourself included.

Oh dear. You clearly misread the part where I wrote "new material".

bonjovi90 11-02-2016 07:13 PM

I'm starting to think that, even though Jon stated differently, All Hail The King actually refers to Richie. I've never had the feeling that the lyrics made sense with the Soul Kitchen being the focus, but if I interpret the words as Jon's talking about Richie's rise and fall then it sheds quite some interesting light onto the song. Especially the bridge could deal with his final years (and the numerous issues) in the band, his final departure and the door being closed now. If it does, it does so in quite a bitter way and hence I wouldn't be surprised if Jon didn't want to point out what really made him write the song. Remember that Superman Tonight originally was called "the only boy-girl song on the Circle" and later on he tried to shove it down our throats as a socially conscious single.

Of course that's all just pure speculation ;)

Great interview for a spanish radio station
You can see two videos from the interview
For me its the first time I heard and see Jon saying Richie wont be back in the band ever.
Very intersting too, that Jon says they are doing less concerts because of Ticos health problems.
The second video is fun,a very relax Jon seeing photos from the past and remembering those moments, and also a very famous radio station DJ in Spain who passed a few years ago.
