MAYBE if it was the lead single (and it's still a big question mark given the band's age). But as the third (or whatever) single? No chance.

You never know, they could be successful in some station, already passed with their third single from HAND, Who Says You Cant Go Home was a success in the Country radios.

You may never know, but I do.

They were 11 years younger and Jon looked 20 younger older and had much more powerful voice.

There is pretty much zero precedent for a rock band of their age to have a hit song. Especially, one that never had the critical/media backing. The closest example would be Aerosmith with I Don't Want To Miss A Thing, but even so, Tyler was a few years younger than Jon, did not look gray and miserable and, most importantly, the song was a written by a hitmaker Dianna Warren with Celine Dion in mind, for a massive blockbuster movie. Not a third single of a commercially underwhelming album.

No matter what they do, they will NEVER have another hit song. At best what they could hope for is a moderately successful lead single (ala Memory), but at this point I'd say even that is unlikely.

It's very possible that you're right, but even so, if I would have to choose a single from the whole album, it would be Born Again Tomorrow. The rest will simply not work on the radio. You can do the test with your friends and family, Born Again Tomorrow stands out above the rest.

That I agree with. BAT perhaps had a 0.5% higher chance than the title track. But if we're doing this debate, I will always believe they blew it when they We Dont Run on BB. This should have been the single.

Regarding singles, whatever the record company think sounds the most 'Bon Jovi' or sounds like the top 40 is usually the choice. Born Again Tomorrow I suppose falls into those categories

The part with the wine bottle was for Richie! (?)

Probably best video so far. Great story, many details, good casting, great camera work. I can see this one in commercial tv.

Right on!!
Such a stellar video.
I started tearing up about halfway through. Powerful stuff.
The videos for THINFS, Knockout, and now BAT are all really well done.
BAT really needs to be the next official single.

BonJovi100 12-15-2016 11:33 PM

Creepy? That would've been the best part of the video!

Wasn't a huge BAT fan either but it definitely grew on me after the first listen.

I'm not one to be easily impressed, or to cry easily, but this Born Again Tomorrow video... Wow. This may be the best video they ever released.

Yes, it's absolutely touching.

The video preview for New Year's Day has just been posted on the band's facebook account.

I'm really really liking some of the new videos. Just watched BAT and RC, both are great. I even like TDITT to some degree. Never cared about LOL after the preview, never watched the entire thing, and I did not ged "Knockout" at all...

Now NYD looks very promising as well.

Those videos really help to deliver the songs!

steel_horse75 12-21-2016 03:13 PM

havent seen any apart from title track and TDITT
i dont have a tidal account

Just seen BAT - great vid

They get released on YouTube 1-2 weeks after Tidal.

BonJovi100 12-22-2016 07:49 PM

There is NYDay on tidal. For me it looks like it's their worst video from tidal

Captain_jovi 12-22-2016 08:08 PM

I wonder if the timing was done so it will be on Youtube for actual New Years Day.

Also with what we know, Living with the Ghost will be the only one without a video right?

That's a shame. They should at least put some live footage together and make a video of it to at least have the complete core album in video. 11 videos out of 12 songs seems odd.

"New Years Day" video world premiere is set for Friday, December 30th. The videos always goes to YouTube 8 days after Tidal pre-premiere. "Born Again" out tomorrow.

Jon was sayin' about 12 videos, so the last video will premiere somewhere, but not in Tidal. Maybe they will kept it for the THINFS Blu-ray as an exclusive video.

BonJovi100 12-22-2016 10:32 PM

If we take bottle with alcohol like a metaphore of Richie and ship as a methaphore of band this video is better than I thought. No whiskey (Richie) and their changed direction of sailing (they were near the edge). Now they are sailing to new, exciting direction where they will try find hapinnes and succes (sun).
If those metahpores are good (Jon should answer about it) this video is very symbolics.

I Just saw it one time, and didn't get all these references that you said. LOL But thanks for clear up. Makes sense.

But I did get one reference instantly: When the song goes to the "Let's toast to new beginnings", and Jon hugs Phill...

Santa Fe 12-23-2016 12:08 AM

Any other link to watch the New Year's Day video please?

Nice theory!
I think this song is just infectiously happy, and watching the video brought a huge smile to my face. I think this and BAT are the two best videos by far, from the new album so far.

Eveline 12-23-2016 02:22 PM

Or, as someone pointed out on a different forum, a little ship is usually stuck in a bottle :3

They ALL drank from that bottle and then the bottle is left behind. I would say they are past crazy times and they moved on doing their thing as a bunch of old, grey haired guys. My bro didn't like the music but I'd say the videos are pretty entertaining. I've always liked the BJ concepts of music vids anyway.

Reunion doesn't have a clip... Or did I miss that one?

As for the NYD video... It was pretty, but I couldn't make ANY connections between the song and the visuals. It left me confused.
