No acoustic guitar for Born To Follow. Well, that's a first timer.

Captain_jovi 01-26-2017 03:04 AM

Reaaaaaaaaaaaaally thought they would have dropped both Borns to fit the new songs in.

DryCounty 01-26-2017 03:06 AM

And Shanks plays the gutiar melody during the choruses like it was recorded, not on keyboard like it's been done live since TC Tour. That's a thumb up, it sounds good though it's not very exciting to see it in the set list.

Thomas S 01-26-2017 03:08 AM

Jon seems to be moving around more on stage which is great.

He took the mic off the stand for a bit during WWBTF, but yeah he's hardly racing around.

Thomas S 01-26-2017 03:12 AM

Not a huge fan of Work For The Working Man but it's nice to see it here for a change.

DryCounty 01-26-2017 03:16 AM

Definetely a suprise as it barely was played during the BWC Tour in 2013. Not a favorite but sounded pretty good and Jon actually worked to get the crowd going a bit.

Thomas S 01-26-2017 03:19 AM

Yeah I'm very pleasantly surprised with how Jon's sounding. He's done great so far, although they've only played the easier songs at this point.

Javier 01-26-2017 03:19 AM

No acoustic either for Lost Highway huh?! Interesting guy this Jon....

DryCounty 01-26-2017 03:20 AM

Even though he's stuck behind the mic stand, it definetely adds some energy to the song with Jon skipping the acoustic guitar.

Guess no more stream for tonight? I actually enjoyed it. The songs I heard sounded great.

Edit: Back on! And so is the acoustic guitar... ;)

Is it me or is Jon sounding pretty good? Or is it just the mediocre quality of the streams that is in his advantage?

Kathleen 01-26-2017 03:37 AM

Was this show even advertised?

Don't think so, I believe it's a rehearsal.

Javier 01-26-2017 03:44 AM

It's the show before the real shows start. A lot of contest winners and the like, don't think this was an actual date on the tour when it was announced.....

Hmpffff.... I was wondering why I wasn't there LOL

Thomas S 01-26-2017 03:49 AM

Has anybody found a new livestream? Chris Kellog's one has ended.

Kathleen 01-26-2017 03:51 AM

So Hugh and Shanks on Richie's side - with PhilX on the other side - different.

That kind of bugged me a bit. I'm guessing there's some technical reason for it.....

Nothing technical here. Shanks is a JBJ's right hand. Official finally.

Yeah - I read something recently saying that Hugh and PhilX are official too. Gotta remember where I saw that.

Meh, if that's what that symbolizes then it should be Dave's spot. Matter of fact, put those keyboards out front Jon!! Or give Dave a Keytar!!! :D

Thomas S 01-26-2017 04:38 AM

We have a new stream!!!
Karson & Kennedy on facebook.

Sounds funny :D but why Dave? He was not a JBJ's major brother in arm of writing, recording and producing process in the last 12 years.

:D No worries glad I can be useful.

I just search Bon Jovi on facebook and sort by latest. The Phil X Fan Club page also shares the streams as it finds them.

It's on the first page of the thread but a few songs are missing where the stream cut out.

But I haven't heard Jon say that yet.

Thank you. Forgot that was the convention here.

If I remember correctly Jon said it when the band was on the Howard Stern show. He definitely said Phil was an official member, not sure about Hugh.

Captmorgs 01-26-2017 05:03 AM

Anyone know why this was rehearsal show was now? They're still 2.5 weeks away from the opening date.

Thanks. I missed that one. Last one I remembered was when he was asked in one of the promo interviews how many official members were still in the band and he said, "One - me" but then laughed it off and added Tico and David.

I'll have to check out the HS interview and see what else I've missed.

Rdkopper 01-26-2017 05:12 AM

I like what I see... Jon sounds great, he's moving around, and the band sounds tight. This tour will work...

If anybody finds out what songs were played between IML and HAND that would be great. There weren't any streams up for that bit.
I saw an instagram picture with #godblessthismess but I'm not sure if it actually got played.

Just my own notion of how things should be, not really based on much knowledge just what can be seen from the outside. Dave's always been there, ever since the Atlantic city Expressway, that's a LOT of years being loyal to the same friend....

Now this shocked me! Cuts out but sounds like he nails the high note!

Listened to 3 snippets so far from instagram 'THINFS, IML and Prayer' all of them sound really good too. Static JBJ on every video so far but he sounds good for a first show!

Impressed so far

I've watched this a few times trying to tell if he's using the backing track he used for the 2015 tour and the miami show. So far it doesn't sound like it but I could be wrong. Still, the possibility of him not needing that anymore is hopeful for the tour. The little bit that I saw of the performances give me hope....
