Although Jon sounds decent, it's not worth 45 bucks with shipping... if he did this from 88 to 96, I'd be poor but now....

Yeah, it's great by recent standards, but, to be frank, they are pretty low.

Still, it's great to be able to enjoy KTF without having to anticipate a "Bobbied" solo closing it.

Savvi 02-09-2017 05:27 AM

I will never tire of hearing the instrumental section of KTF. It gets me every time. If I ever attend a Jovi concert without KTF I will feel ripped off.

Rdkopper 02-09-2017 05:28 AM

I'll tell you, this stream sounds really good for AUD... Too bad no one is recording it

Holy shit - Always :D

DryCounty 02-09-2017 05:32 AM

Would never guess for him to pull a song like this out on the first show of the tour.

His voice sounds strong.

Savvi 02-09-2017 05:33 AM

He's struggling with this one. First time of the night he sounds not so good. I can forgive him though, he's done better than we all expected.

Ugh I LOVE the Always solo when it just bursts in.

Strong, but rather forced. I fear that not much of his voice will be left in a few weeks if he continues to throw out his voice every (other) night :/

Yeah but he still sounds stronger than he has.

Burlhouse 02-09-2017 05:35 AM

I expected to hear some nasal notes in certain areas of the song, but he surprised me!

I wonder if he'll go for the acapella chorus at the end.

DestinationJovi 02-09-2017 05:35 AM

Best he's done with this song in years.

Captmorgs 02-09-2017 05:35 AM

Is that Shanks on the solo?

DryCounty 02-09-2017 05:36 AM

Obviously he's struggling, but it's far better than I thought. I can live with it sounding like this rather than hearing the TLFR version or not hearing it at all.

bounce442 02-09-2017 05:36 AM

Phil really respects that solo. It's closer to the album version than Richie has ever played... even the tremolo. Let's see if he can give the outro solo justice

CLEYoungGun21 02-09-2017 05:37 AM

While Jon sounds better than I expected on Always (the first chorus started rough), he can't do this every other night.

Very true! Hey, I'm happy! It gives me hope for future shows if he can keep it up. We just need to work on that first half of the setlist haha.

Also, just realised no Born Again Tomorrow yet?

Also also, did I mention that I LOVE this outro solo as well. It's gotta be one of my fav live songs.

Savvi 02-09-2017 05:38 AM

Well dam. He pulled off that final chorus not too bad.

Kathleen 02-09-2017 05:38 AM

Wow - I'll take it - thanks Jon.

CLEYoungGun21 02-09-2017 05:39 AM

Good for Jon to finish Always strong!

I loved the solo and hey, that was a good ending!!

Always!!!! That was pretty impressive...I mean not perfect but he's definitely come a long ways... I'll give it to him...

I have to agree on this one, the last chorus was actually pretty strong imo.

Yep, I am missing it, too.

Is it bad that I'm getting a little emotional listening to Jon talk about his voice and how hard he's worked on it? lol.

Captmorgs 02-09-2017 05:41 AM

Jon's talking about working on his voice. And his goal to sing Always the first night. Wow.

He did indeed - but he he got back on that fcuking stage and sang it. :D

DestinationJovi 02-09-2017 05:42 AM

He should be proud. He did it justice.

It had been unlistenable for a long time.

I'm right there with you. Proves that his heart is still in it. It takes some balls to go up and sing Always the first night of the tour after having had your worst vocal crisis of you career.

I've been listening to some 2010/2011 live material recently, and was caught by surprise how nasal he sounded back then at some points, even though he could use a very large ambitus. Still, the elimination of nasality is really good news. It just sounds way better.

Kathleen 02-09-2017 05:44 AM

He's sounding damn fine on Wanted too.

CLEYoungGun21 02-09-2017 05:44 AM

Phil's gotta work on that solo for Wanted (assuming it's him)
