That's just incredibly good. And it doesn't even feel like that long ago. Back then we had a Jon who could nail STBI, nowadays we have a Jon who struggles to sing the chorus of This House Is Not For Sale.

Hey god, tell me what the hell is going on :(

And once again the whining is back! Boy you guys just won't give it up! Face the fact that this is Jon's and the bands tour, there show, period. This whining about a "vanilla" set list makes you sound like a bunch little spoiled kids, and u do sound spoiled, you know why? because you guys just so focused on the past tours, comparing them, and also comparing Jon to other artists and there tours, eg Bruce Springsteen, that you won't be happy or satisfied with anything Jon does because you so used to Jon in past tours, remember that was the past! this is now, and this is how Jon wants to perform his tour. Thisis not Burger King, you can't always have it your way. Can we all just be happy this band is still touring now!

What's you defence for the fans that bought tickets for multiple nights based on the comments Jon and the band made prior to the tour about changing up the set list each night and having almost 100 songs to choose from?

My defense is that unless Jon personally asks the fans for personal request for songs for their set lists, it is Jon's decision on what song goes in and what songs to not go in, pure and simple. I think the fans are smart enough to know that if they buy multiple tickets, that the chances of songs being repeated on different nights are pretty high, and these fans that buy multiple tickets for different nights have done this before, so this is not the first time they have done this, and if they didn't like the same set lists, they will stop buying multiple shows and just buy for one show, but they still buy multiple shows, so they are happy, and they don't worry or concern themselves with set lists or how Jon's voice is, they don't go to judge or criticize, they go just to have fun, thats all. You know, its funny how you guys here go crazy about set lists and Jon's voice, and I'm sure many of you have been to past shows, but if you guys here attended the shows today with the same attitude you show here, then you guys would be the biggest debbie downers in the world! And would ruin the night for the fans that just want to enjoy the show, regardless of set lists, voice, and show production.

Rosa, people are allowed to have problems. They don't have to sugar coat everything and you don't have to agree.

For the record, when Jon pulled out Always the first night I was quite impressed. And I was thrilled to see that they're coming to my city on this tour.

I understand your defending Jon and a part of me agrees with you. But. When it comes down to it, we PAY Jon to entertain us at a concert. That is his sole purpose on that stage. That's the business. The band has it's longevity because of their live shows, they are known for doing it better than most. Its that simple. I was a the Sunrise show and I was not at all impressed with the setlist, I was very sad to hear Tampa got the same, especially on Valentine's Day. Surely Jon's people have heard the feedback from the fans by now, it's a weak setlist. Change some songs... Yes his voice is shot but I don't care that much about that, there's literally dozens of songs in his catalog that are easy on his vocals and would improve the setlist.
Why is he not listening? What does he see in this current setlist that the rest of us don't?

In the end, YES it's his choice, his show.. but there is an obligation to the fans who pay good money. I am eternally grateful they're touring and it was still a kickass show.

Captain_jovi 02-15-2017 07:30 AM

Yup. If he chooses to keep the same non-hits going from tour to tour it's much less of a reason for the die-hards to keep coming back and we have every right to make that point. I don't give a care if the setlists change from show to show, I absolutely care if I'm getting the same songs I got last tour and the tour before and the tour before. Jon picks the setlist and happy with it or not, the diehards are allowed to be unhappy.
