What does the dots before some songs stand for? My guess would be that those songs use backing tracks, as it seems like the kind of songs that would need it. Anyone that knows for certain?

Not all Youtube vids are bad quality and they are more revealing what the current status is plus a lot of actual concert goers confirmed it themselves.

It's nothing personal on any member of the board. I'm happy for those who can truly enjoy the live performance. I actually wish I did.

For the record, I don't drink beer or anything else at concerts so my judgment is not impacted by alcohol.

However for those of you who actually attend live concerts, there is a certain magic that happens that can only be experienced being there live in person with decent seats... not the best but you can't sit-in the last row either...

I understand, and agree, that it's much different being at a live show - for some people. I'm not one of them. At least not with Bon Jovi. I've only been to two shows - one in Charlotte and one in Churchill Downs. Because of the high prices for seating, I couldn't afford floor seats in Charlotte and even on the first row of the permanent seating it was hard to see the stage. In Churchill Downs, although I was on the third row, I couldn't see the stage much better because of the distance between the stage and where the seating began. In both cases I wound up watching the jumbotron more than the stage and a jumbotron is nothing more than an oversized YT video. So I personally didn't feel "the magic".

It can also be difficult for me to get around these days and sometimes just walking thru the grocery store can present a challenge. Walking through a ginormous parking lot, and then navigating my way through a large arena to locate my seat ranks right up there with catching a bowling ball with my teeth.

So I guess that makes me one of those internet fans to which you refer. Maybe you didn't mean for it to sound as harsh as it did, but that's a mighty broad brushstroke you're using to describe us. I'm not sure why being "an internet fan" would mean that I'm here just to steal music. I've invested a huge amount of money building my collection of BJ music and I paid for every last song that was commercially available. I also resent the implication that I'm less of a fan than you are, simply because I enjoy watching the band on YT, or because I don't attend multiple concerts every time the boys are back in town!

As you said, "if that's your thing, cool..." But let me also add this gem from Captain Jovi's siggy (quoting Iceman): "Don't make the mistake of thinking that even 1% of Bon Jovi fans are like you, because they aren't. Don't think you know how Bon Jovi fans think. You don't. You know yourself. Stick to that."

Reading Jackie's posts on this forum is pure bliss for me and it's been since the very beginning. I think I'm just blessed :) <3

And Becky - nah, I referred to the beer thing because a few such comments have been made. Again, it's nothing personal. I don't like beer, either ;)

I read this forum daily, I've been to hundreds of concerts including the 50 plus times I've seen Bon Jovi, I'm intelligent, and I know people so that quote is just pure bullshit....

Someone's clever words doesn't make it factually correct....

The ticks on that setlist mean it's a roadie's setlist - most likely either Phil or Shanks' tech - he's ticking off the songs as they play them. Therefore the dots are most likely to be a reminder to use a specific guitar, or a specific tuning - something along those lines.

None of which qualifies you to judge other people who read or post in this forum or their motivation for being here.

Ok, but you are clearly unreliable

What a dick..

I think Gabriele isn't a native English speaker and his post may have come off harsher than it was intended. I'd guess he meant biased rather than unreliable. As Becky pretty much sticks up for Jon no matter what.

Becky 02-19-2017 07:32 PM

If you want to buy merchandise, you might do well to do so prior to the show. My friend commented that "nothing was left" after the show. I don't know if that's true for every show or because we were somewhere people have not had an opportunity to buy stuff for 30 years. Practically everyone in the hotel was wearing a Bon Jovi shirt or carrying a bag the next morning.

Listening to the official recording of the show right now. It's a disgrace, Jon isn't hitting any of the notes properly. Out of breath all the time, poor timing and his voice... well sounds like a fart. He even has problems with WLOL.

The difference between Jon's performance in both shows was quite marginal. Obviously, I completely agree with your last comment, that's still too much hipocricy for me not to call you out on it :)

See those real live calloused fingers
Wrapped around those guitar strings
Kiss the lips where hurt has lingered
It breaks your heart to him sing . . .

I really wish we had digital cameras and YouTube back in the 80's and 90's to preserve those memories.

I used to think the same thing but I'm actually happy with what I have and in some ways, appreciate the quality even more... I think most of my bootleg recordings sound better than most of the digital shit recorded today.. Sure you always want more in terms of quantity but my collection is pretty bulky... Jon was also pretty repetitive with his set-lists back then too, that's why Hammersmith, Dublin, and the Count Basie shows are so in demand... I could honestly say that I have 10 to 20 shows from each tour that are either in Soundboard or Excellent Audience Quality... When you break it all down, there is a lot more out there then most people realize...As much as I would love to have everything, I don't need everything...

I probably have 20 to 25 great quality versions of Lay Your Hands On Me from the New Jersey Tour... And although based on the number of shows, that's only about 10% of them... I think 20 to 25 is satisfying enough... Now would I like more? Hell Yeah!!! Do I need more? Not Really!!!

At this point, I just want rare stuff...

There is me as the Fan, Hobby, & Collector...And then there is me as someone who enjoys the music... Although I'm collecting all the shows from this tour, I'll probably only listen to a fraction of it... When it's over, I'll compile a collection of the best performances, play it once, and then never listen to it again..

Does anyone got this concert on FLAC or MP3 ?
