That's what I thought. I had just been wondering since the last time that proper video screens (that actually showed footage of the band playing) were included in the stage design had been on the HAND tour. After that it was animations only and even on the WAN tour they had these columns in the back and no screens.
But thanks for clearing it up!

No, on the TC tour, they had (moving) screens showing live footage, too. At least indoors like in Paris.

I'm back. It was fun, but bitter sweet. Jon is every bit the frontman he was 10-17 years ago.

I don't get it.

How is he every bit the frontman that he was in 2000 when he doesn't move around the stage at all now? Leaving the vocal decline to the side, there's still a massive difference.

I suppose you're talking about arenas in the USA, right? Shows in Europe in 2010/2011 had this massive semi-circle screen where the band was shown very often and two large vertical screens at both sides of the stage that show the band all the time. In 2013 they kept the lateral screens.

He hasn’t lost the ability to keep the audience engaged, despite his vocal condition. Last night he moved around a lot- guitar solos, intros, outros, BM, WGIGO, and a few others.

Didn't someone say in this very thread that there are no screen this time? This looks an awful lot like a screen-recording to me:p

I’m sorry for not being more clear. Last night the only screens I could (barely) see were small and mounted high to sides of the stage to serve the 200/300 levels to the sides (and maybe back – didn’t see). As far as I could tell, screens could not be seen from the floor or the 100’s, 200's, 300's facing the stage.

Hey All!

I can't access my old profile, didn't know if a moderator could help me with that?!? I had to register a new username... Hope everyone is well. I know it's been awhile. Last night was.... well... interesting.

I was one of the fortunate few who got to see Richie perform one of his last shows 4 years ago right here in OKC. So this was a very different experience altogether.

The good... Stage setup was cool and the wristband for the audio files is pretty awesome. You can view it up close on my Twitter @RyanBounce04. I complained early about the crowd being thin, but 2 songs into the set, it was full. Props to Phil X. A lot of good vibes and energy. Very professional. The moment Jon screwed up Bad Medicine and started signing he 2nd verse instead of the first was fantastic and I caught it unlike 99% of people around me so it made it that much better. The amount of young people was encouraging as well! So many new young fans just goes to show what kind of staying power the guys have. Finally, the experience having free WIFI provided by the band, and the ability to use the APP during the show.

The bad... set list. A. No diversity. And I know it's because of the other new band members lack of knowledge in regards to the catalogue as well as the deterioration of Jons voice. It's a bummer it has to be that way. I'd also say that Jon just looked tired about 10 songs into the set. He really struggled towards the end of the show to hit notes and it's pretty obvious why the set list was that much shorter. New songs in the middle of the show really just turned people off. It was such a lull and it wasn't until the end of Devil that Jon had said that it's nothing but hits from now on, which drove everyone around me to their feet. My final complaint is the contrary to what I said about Phil X above... I can't stand that Richie isn't there anymore and Jon mentioned him numerous times. He misses him for sure. We all do. It's not Bon Jovi without the King of Swing. It never will be in my opinion.

Thanks to those that followed and thanks to those that posted my live tweets for you all! Now can someone help me get a new password for my old account?!? LOL

Good to see you here again Ryan! Thanks for your review of the show!! Not sure if you remember, that the very first time I saw Bon Jovi was at the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman back on July 24,1985 on the Farenheit tour (my brother wanted to see Ratt who they were opening for) so Oklahoma is near and dear to my heart!!

I always read the california line as being where all the shit's going down for Richie, so it's time to get him out of the funk and onto the road. I don't think it's a big reach to read that song as from Jon to Richie without any non-attendance subtext to be honest, at the time anyway. He used to talk about how Jon helped him get himself back on track around that time.

Here is what I was talking about earlier when I said that Whole Lot of Leavin' was about Richie. This is Jon at a very small venue in New York City talking about his work and singing some songs.

oh, I remember that video now! I knew I've heard it somewhere before... ;)

I asked Phil X about dropping certain songs...

@TheRealPhilX hey Phil. Any reason always, blood on blood and Saturday have been dropped from the set?

@HackStuart not "dropped". Jon likes switching things up as he's fully aware that a lot of fans attend multiple shows.

Interesting that it is thought that the set has been changed to accommodate repeat customers.

Thanks for sharing that. You reminded me he did ask for questions on twitter so I'm playing catch up and reading that now lol!
