September 22nd 2017 - Rock In Rio, Brazil Thread
I know this show is ages away, but I just found out that Aerosmith have also been announced for the event (performing the day before Jovi). I went to the website and found out Guns N Roses, Billy Idol, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Who and Alice Cooper are also playing throughout the festival.
I'm thinking that Jovi are really gonna have to up their game with their show, considering how many of their contemporaries will be performing at the event. Do you think they will do well in comparison to the others? There's no way they could go out there and do the current setlist they are doing right now. As an extra note, how cool would it be if they joined/were joined on stage by any of those other mentioned artists. Could never see it happening with Gunners, but I wouldn't rule out Aerosmith or Alice. Wishful thinking? Last time they did Rock In Rio was on the Because We Can Tour. Both Richie and Tico were absent. The setlist was... That's What the Water Made Me You Give Love a Bad Name Raise Your Hands Runaway Lost Highway Whole Lot of Leavin' It's My Life Because We Can What About Now We Got It Going On Keep the Faith (You Want To) Make a Memory Captain Crash and the Beauty Queen from Mars We Weren't Born to Follow Who Says You Can't Go Home I'll Sleep When I'm Dead/Start Me Up - Rolling Stones cover Bad Medicine/Shout! - Isley Brothers cover Encore: Wanted Dead or Alive Have a Nice Day Livin' on a Prayer Always (originally an audible) |
Even though Jon's hands were tied , this was one of the worst shows I've ever been to.
Lost Highway Whole Lot of Leavin' It's My Life Because We Can What About Now We Got It Going On Keep the Faith (You Want To) Make a Memory Captain Crash and the Beauty Queen from Mars We Weren't Born to Follow Who Says You Can't Go Home Even for us diehards this is a complete snoozfest. Except for the songs in red, during this whole segment people around me were sitted on the ground texting and chatting. |
it was my first show and I loved every second of it, all my friends with me basicaly hated the entire thing, I'm going again, already anxious af. This is the best Rock in Rio line up since it came back to Rio (2011), Bon Jovi, Alter Bridge, Guns, The Who, Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, RHCP... I'm gonna try to go to Guns too, don't know if gonna make it but

I guess that the list of their biggest hits in SA, excluding the obvious Prayer/Wanted/Bad Name, it's going to be very curious. Always is definitely their biggest song in Brazil, I'll Be There For You for the older casual audience and stuff like that. Everyone here should have been in Sao Paulo/10 to feel what was when they started playing These Days. The crowd was insane and sang along the bridge before the solo, something very rare. This Ain't A Love Song was absolutely huge in Argentina(Como Yo Nadie Te Amado) and Brazil. But most of you have bo idea what is to be in a night club and the band starts to play Misunderstood. Literally the whole place sings along. |
