I think people would be fine with a two hour set as long as it was a set full of energy, a good performance and maybe a surprise or two. Hell, two hours is far from a 'short' show compared to other bands. 'Can't comment on how the band were, but the setlists are so boring. Half of the set is actual bad music. Songs I wouldn't want to hear, personally. The hits? Great. No problem. The new material? Absolutely no problem. But 'Born To Follow', 'Who Says', 'Sleep When I'm Dead', 'Bad Medicine', 'We Got It Goin' On'? Nah.

I agree with most of what you said, but you do realize Bad Medicine was a #1 single and one of their biggest hits, right? It's also insanely popular live.

Y'all are overreacting about the length of the set. Yes, it is odd that 2 songs were cut (and I'm curious to know which ones) but again, there's a strict curfew at this venue.. I did see a short clip of Jon in the pit during Bad Medicine. At least he looks like he's having fun, guys

Crap. Bruce plays literally twice as long and he's got what, 10 years on Jon.

A. If they're going to play a shorter set, lower the ticket price. Instead, ticket prices at Mohegan are always the most expensive of the tour.
B. If they have to be off by 10:30, ditch the opening act. Or, as I said earlier, tell the tribe to piss off and go play in Boston, Providence or Worcester.

Touché... both very fair points... but, while I'm sure none of the guys are hurting for money, you gotta price the tickets so you can make somewhat of a profit.

Yes Jon literally said after Scars to Dave "let's move on to the next one". And I love Everett but to each his own. I think time seemed to be an issue as far as getting done but who knows. Decent show but not my favorite of the 5 I've seen. For me it would be, Cleveland, Columbus, Nashville, Chicago, Mohegan.

My apologies I wasn't clear. I understand 'Bad Medicine' was a huge hit but I personally just don't care for it. It can be fun, but often feels like a chore, and I would never think to myself 'oh I want to listen to Bad Medicine'.

Jon did Two and a Half hours in Philly... 8:30 to 11 and they probably had to be off by 11 or he might have kept going... Twenty years ago, Ten years ago, you got away with so much more... Everything is so strict now everywhere... Forget smoking anything but you can't even hold up a lighter now a days... Crazy World, Crazy People, It's a sign of the times...

There was a time bands could say screw the curfew and just pay the venue a fine for going over.

Not sure if that's still an option these days but I know I'd be pissed if I paid $400 for a floor seat and didn't get a full show.

ThePunisher 04-02-2017 05:09 PM

When did this curfew start? Bruce played well over the two hour limit when he played there. I guess Jon is too cheap to pay the fine?

Captain_jovi 04-02-2017 05:19 PM

The ticket prices are always higher at that venue for the band so I don't think it's as simple as the band lowering them. If they could I'm sure they would.

Then they should stop playing there. Period. Between the curfew and the outrageous prices, give the fans a dasmn break and screw the friggin casino.
