Philadelphia show will not be released
 

Sad news to report. They are not releasing the live audio from last night in Philly. They have also pulled it from the ordering section of their website. I don't know why they decided to not put it out but I will do my best to find out.

That would be a great shame given the positive feedback. And a worrying precedent for them to pick and choose what shows to release.

Maybe it's completely out of their control though - possibly technical problems with the recording.

I'm hoping this is an April Fool. Last nights show kicked some serious ass...

How can it be an April fools when they pulled the show from being sold on their website?

That's gone from the list too, do you think they'll be planning on releasing that show from San Jose too as a DVD?

I actually don't think they have any plans to release a current concert.

Why is that?

I guess for the same reason why there aren't any screens included in the stage design, why there hasn't been a single live video on the band's YT channel and why there hasn't been any live webcast so far.
Jon's struggles are probably too obvious when watching it through Pro Shot cameras. All the magic that makes him sound ok-ish when you're there in person would be gone then.

According to the person I spoke to in charge of these shows, San Jose had so many recording issues that they could not fix. This happens all the time with moving productions. You just never hear about it because there's never a reason to pay attention to it, unless they have something going on like releasing shows.

Idk but i was thinking if he is improving slowly maybe he might be able to sing...lets say only lonely or stg like that. I mean he was able to sing that in2010 and his voice was shot before that too but he improved.

That's what I was thinking. It was a great show!

I think there is zero chance of a DVD release of the current tour. Even though Jon seems to be getting more comfortable on stage as the tour ends, his voice is still in pretty bad shape. He's stil struggling to sing any high notes, and he's still sounding thin and flat on every demading song. A DVD with proshot material would kill any credibility he has left.

I'm happy that he seems to be putting more energy into the shows though.

Talking to Seb - He reckons why Philadelphia both sounded great and is unavailable to record is because Jon lip synced too much of the show and there was parts of the show that couldn't be translated in a 'live' way onto the recording.

Seems very unlikely. Why is he lipsyncing heaps on this show and not others? How come nobody noticed? Remember he jumped into the pit and got right up to the fans – there is a 0% chance he lip synced then. Surely we would be able to tell from the videos on youtube. After all, he never manages to perfectly lip sync that one line from Prayer, so there's no way he'd be able to flawlessly do it an entire show.

Not saying he did the whole show. I'm just saying it was introduced more recently, which is he sounded better in certain songs + why he seemed to have more energy.

I will be very clear on this. I was very vocal to when they were having issues with Phoenix and San Diego recordings. I have contacts now who I can email and they respond right away when I have questions. Lip Syncing is not the reason why Philly is not being released.

Then what is the reason?

Well this was bad information - I just downloaded Philadelphia :D They seem to have left out The Fighter this time :(

A bit out of the loop here, where are you guys downloading the shows from?

We bought the show - they sent a download link - and now I have it :) I was surprised because the last we had heard from this thread, it was not being released.

So it's not like what Metallica is doing, go to the website and pay/download the live shows, because i looked on bonjovi.com and couldn't find anything.

How did you buy the show?

Why did they leave out fighter?

It was pre-ordered. It is still on the list and able to be purchased. I just checked.

It also appears to not be the Philly show :( It's the same as Detroit - so I am not sure what they are doing :(

The email said it was Philadelphia and even the artwork says:

Bon Jovi Live-Wells Fargo Center-Philadelphia PA-3.31.2017

The Philly show has been off the list since the day after the show and I was told in an email from a person who edits these shows that it wasn't being released. It just reappeared 3 hours ago to buy again.

They sent a link out to people who preordered saying it was Philadelphia. But the show that downloaded was Detroit :(

I sent him an email to let them know. He always gets back to me in the morning.

Thank you - I actually did the downloading but the link was sent to a friend in Germany who is traveling here for the MSG shows. He has been staying at my house which is why I did the downloading. I would imagine that they would get several complaints LOL.

If anyone has heard anything about this Philadelphia show - please let me know. It would be appreciated. One person is traveling and they are not getting back to him in a timely manner.

The word I got is they don't know and they don't have the files from Philly.

Oh boy - rolling my eyes here. So then why did Philly go back on the list? I know you don't know - I'm just aggravated.

Have you gotten any resolution to this? They have stopped responding to me.
