Logistic wise, Porto Alegre before Rio doesn't make any sense.

Update: actually, it does.

Doing the math made me realize that it's something like 200km less.

Rock in Rio has its own stage. There's no logistic issue :)

You're right, kust band's gears.

Hope this time they bring full production.

Sad that's only 5 shows. A local producer said that they wanted to do another show in Argentina and the band refused.

rly? There is a rumor that Steel Panther was going to open for them in Sao Paulo but Jon refused and said that "he didn't want a band like that opening for him" and wanted a new band

Well that makes sense. For a guy that desperately tries to stay relevant it wouldn't make sense to have a band like Steel Panther as the opening act. It would feel plain out wrong.

Steel Panther should've open for Aerosmith and Def Leppard to Bon Jovi, would make more sense.

Maybe offtopic but what an amazing festival you're getting in Sao Paulo. Really jealous.

I've heard that rumour too but I haven't seen any statements of anyone about this.

Totally agree on this one.

The one about the second date in Argentina is confirmed as José Palazzo (the producer that arranged the 2013 concert in Córdoba - cancelled because of Tico's health issues) said it in an interview. He said he did everything possible to make the gig happen but that the band refused as they wanted to do these five shows in five "big" cities.

I don't think that it was fear of low ticket sales as they were selling real good back in 2013 and Bon Jovi usually sells fine here.

Here's the article where the producer talks about it:

Quote:

Entertainment producer José Palazzo said this Thursday night to Cadena 3: "There's no chance, because they don't have in schedule any city outside Buenos Aires.

These are all big shows they're doing in Latin America, as part of their arrival to Rock In Rio 2017", he added.

Finally, he recalled: "The last time we had possibilities. With an almost sold-out stadium we had to cancel the concert because the drummer had apendicitis".

after a very long and succesful career we have to start to give the guy more credit...bj sound is miles and miles away from steel panthers, an band that semi sucesfull capitalises the 80s nostalgia.
the guys in bj played that music when they were young, made some great great songs and moved on and made more songs that stand the test of time. so kudos to jon for giving young kids the chance to play in a big stadium..jon wants to stay relevant and current in order to have his music available for young generations but calling him desperate sounds harsh. in a long career you ll make mistakes but the big picture shows a guy who wrote his own songs, presented them with all he had and stayed on the top for many many years

You could try some resale websites but they're going to be way more expensive.
