2013 was a notable one for the band Bon Jovi. First, after performing live at the big charity concert telethon to raise donations for Hurricane Sandy victims, the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation pledged a whopping $1 million donation to rebuild and recover in the band’s home state of New Jersey. Bon Jovi’s latest album What About Now? debuted its first week at #1 sales in the U.S. , and they completed the first leg of a tour which cranks back up in Mexico City September 10, a massive outdoor “Rock in Rio” show September 20, then back to North America October 2 through November 8 before wrapping up the year playing Japan and Australia. This all comes on the 25th anniversary of the release of Bon Jovi’s multimillion seller fourth album New Jersey , which included the songs “Lay Your Hands on Me”, “Bad Medicine”, “Blood on Blood”,”Born to Be My Baby”, and “I’ll Be There for You”. My guests are Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora. – Redbeard

To attempt to get your head around the phenomenon of Bon Jovi‘s third album Slippery When Wet three decades ago, it helps to write out the worldwide sales estimate since then : 28,000,000 copies. No hyperbole here, it is impossible to overstate how massively popular Bon Jovi‘s third album, Slippery When Wet, was quickly after release in Summer 1986, or how influential its sound and success were for the rest of the Eighties. But what does that do to the lives of the individuals involved? Find out from namesake Jon Bon Jovi and original guitarist/ co-writer Richie Sambora, framed by unforgettable songs “You Give Love a Bad Name”,” Living on a Prayer”, and”Wanted Dead or Alive“, here In the Studio. -Redbeard
