I'm just going to list the one... Water Into Wine

What the heck, I'm going to throw Drummer Boy and Silent Night on there as well...

In that case we could go for all the covers they ever played live because they might have a SBD recording of all of them somewhere in the vaults.
Let's rather keep covers that we don't have proof they did in the studio (Purple Rain and It's Only Make Believe being the exceptions here) out of this list.

When has Just Like a Princess been confirmed? I've never heard of it. Didn't find an answer in the thread, sorry if I've missed it.

I agree... Only Studio covers are accepted...

It was in a very early list of songs demoed for HAND. I'm struggling to find the article right now but if/when I find it I'll post a link.

bonjovi90 07-06-2017 06:02 PM

Does "Turn Back Time" belong in there?

BonJovi100 07-06-2017 06:07 PM

"All We Are" is song from THINFSale session. We didn't hear only this and "Rage Of Angels". Maybe those are 2 songs which were recorded for Netflix soundtrack.

I still believe that Jon (and Richie?) wrote "I Remember You" and "18&Life" for the first Skid Row record. These songs are a lot closer to the Jovi songwriting from that era than they are to the rest on Skid Row's debut.

Faceman 07-06-2017 06:31 PM

- This Is Not A Love Song which turned into This Ain't A Lovesong
- Gimme which turned into Something For The Pain

Both were played during the 1994 Christmas tour. They already were quite similar but there were some minor changes to the album versions on These Days.
And didn't have the song These Days another title as well or do I remember it wrong? (I don't mean Open All Night as the album's working title ;-))

Is Love For just Love for Sale with a word cut off?

Sad Song Tonight is probably the version for Bounce.

'We're not lovers anymore' - Jon played the first verse and a bit (live on an acoustic guitar) on Simon Bates' Radio 1 show in the UK, in 1992 just as 'Keep the Faith' was about to be released.

I recorded it at the time but I think that's long gone sadly. Pretty much still remember the lyrics though...

So I raise a toast with an empty glass
As the jukebox fades
On our last slow dance.. oh oh
There's one thing I know for sure
That this world ain't made up
Of happy ends, and I know
I can't be just friends.. oh oh
There's one thing I can't endure..
Were not lovers anymore
Hey baby../ends

I would also list Love Is Just Another... from the KTF review sheet that was posted in the Box Set thread. It might have turned into Love Ain't Nothing But A Four Letter Word but than the melodie must have been different.

And btw., you missed to update the 2 These Days songs I mentioned at the end of page 5 ;)

I don't think that's needed, both versions are on the box set. I assume the one on that list is the one Jon started alone.

I need to go through the rest of this later on when I have some more time to study it. Do you know what albums these songs belong to? Some of these need a collective discussion like Slipper When Wet....

I updated the first part...

I'm not going to include those two These Days songs because we know what they are based on the bootleg... Demos with some alternate lyrics don't really count in this or we could technically list every song from every album... Would everyone agree?

I created a miscellaneous section and stuck them all there... Some were already noted so I just left them were I had originally placed them...

"Cave of the heart" sounds like a type and so does "love for"...

Once someone provides info on any of these, I'll given them homes...

Also, review my master list and let me know if I missed anything...

Don't know if this is the one you're referring to, but found this one on my computer.

A similar sheet (like this one posted in the box set thread) exists for These Days, too.
Does somebody have it? I'm pretty sure that I had it somewhere but I can't find it anymore.

In the 2014 thread it was for The Circle. "There was an early article where Jon was talking about new songs. The main focus was a song called Can I Be happy now which I think it's fairly safe to assume became Happy Now but he also listed about three other titles...Two of them ended up on The Circle but the third one was Just Like A Princess."

There is one picture in the Box Set booklet, however it only has 8 tracks or so and they all ended up on the album. Don't know if we ever got another list like that KTF one. That vault website unfortunately doesn't exist anymore...

Rdkopper 07-07-2017 06:29 PM

Wow... Over 75 titles (and that doesn't include the basement demos)... Even if we got 25 of them, I'd be ecstatic...

It's actually a little depressing knowing that we may never get any of these... I mean, how much longer can they hold these songs? If we don't have them by now, we may never get them...

Denmad 07-07-2017 06:46 PM

"The Ballad of Alice Cooper" (most likely written during NJ era, performed only once in 1990).

Similar list can be seen in the Because We Can Tour Program. That was the source of the songs like "Shine", "Times Like These" and "State of the Union" I mentioned on the first page.

I think Jon can keep many songs for the posthumous album.

It's not like Obie is the gatekeeper to the Bon Jovi empire. At some point a good chunk of songs will come out. I'm not saying he'll have to die for it to happen but if they find a way to monetize this stuff it will probably happen.

True but half of them won't get released either because Jon probably doesn't think they are 'good enough'... Obie had to talk him into putting Outlaws on the Box... He thinks hearing him screech about change is better than a balls out passionate rock song...
