Ouch - hearing non-autotuned pro-recorded versions of Who Says, HAND, Medicine, Always and KTF '17 will hurt, badly...

I live in Finland, and it will be around 3AM our time when the gig starts, let alone the time it will be when it ends (God, probably at least 5:30AM). I'm not able to sleep on daytime, so I'll have to pass. Fortunately (?) there's YouTube.

efpg0708 09-20-2017 06:18 PM

Going to Rio today ... It's a 4 hour drive from my hometown.

Last time they played RIR it was the worst show I've ever been too. At the time they were two man short, and Jon's voice was starting to go downhill (and yes, almost everybody noticed, and the reviews mentioned it too). And on top of that, they played a snoozfest setlist for a festival.

The set they've been playing here in SA is way better than the 2013 one, so let's hope for a good show !

symbeline 09-20-2017 06:28 PM

A live broadcast is great news, actually. Now we'll see if Jon can up his game and own the stage or if he's really giving his all...

Reviews are consistently positive (most of them notice his vocal decline, but deem it normal for his age) so this is the one performance he can't screw up. I'll tune in for sure, I've been hoping for a broadcast since the beginning of the tour.

The current set is much better for a festival when compared to the 2013 setlist. I really really hope that Jon can give all he's got in Rio. He really needs this one.

What's Portuguese for "I'm there, dudes?" Let's cyber-get together and make a real party of it, like we did with the Asian mini-tour!

No worries...
There is still a HD broadcast on Multishow (brazilian TV channel)

Gadden 09-21-2017 05:25 AM

What a shame :(

But will it be available oniine? And if it's going to be HD, that means I can make screen captures -- haven't done that in ages!

Usually these broadcasts are available on certain online sites within two or three days after the show.

I watched Justin Timberlake's set on YouTube the next day after it happened. So unless the Bon Jovi camp is very aggressive with immediately removing content (which I don't think is the case), it should be the same. Now, Guns N' Roses might be a very different story.

Yes, for sure. But I think that you people outside Brazil can watch it live with an IP change tool no?

I can't wait to get my hands on the GnR one... Those guys are still monsters and I'm proud to say that they still do it better than Bon Jovi... If they continued to release real albums after UYI2, I might be a bigger fan of them... (The Spaghetti Incident doesn't count)

GnR are together these days for one reason only-MONEY and they are not so good playing wise, something is missing...they are on the top just like Metallica today, long time not doing tours, big pauses...

I really don't care why they are together... If it's about money, they deserve every bit of it... they've always been a bit sloppy and that's been their charm... I saw them perform last year and thought they were fantastic... They did every hit and fan favorite...

I agree with you but my comment is about "they are doing better then Jovi",they are because they reunited and long time no see,and just like Metallica they cant be compared with Jovi,it is another cup of tea...

Possibly true, but they are enjoying a lot of their return, and it has become something more than the money.

Metallica is in very good shape
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2AhB...youtu.be&t=165

U2 still do spark from time to time.

and we could put examples of Aerosmtih, but Steven Tyler is out of the ordinary, the guy is Awesome. Would highlight his staging with Joey Perry, which is a true rock n roll show.

These acts are not perfect, but they retain the most important elements, the emotion, energy and passion are still there.

Not for me. There is no emotion, no energy, no passion. The whole show sounds insipid, they should take drastic measures, but I do not think that happens on this tour.

efpg0708 09-22-2017 09:28 AM

Sorry for the off topic post ... But Def Leppard followed by Aerosmith today was insane. I've never seen Steven Tyler so possessed like he was today. I saw them on Monday and it was ok, the audience sucked ... but today, I cannot explain. The man is a beast on stage, even though I find his vocals to be more hoarse than usual this tour. This was my 15th and by far the best Aerosmith concert, and easily one of the top ten concerts I've ever been in My life.

Gadden 09-22-2017 03:27 PM

Can't someone point me at the right direction for a stream at least xD

Complete bollocks.
Saw them a few weeks ago.
If Jovi and GNR played a gig in the same town on the same night, i know who'd Id be watching.

GNR can do any song from any album at any time in the set.
Bon Jovi have to choose their songs to suit JBJs voice.
Take your BJ specs off.
GNR are a better live act in this day and age.

steel_horse75 09-22-2017 03:46 PM

Hasnt the gig already been??
Thought it was 4am UK time?

symbeline 09-22-2017 03:52 PM

Has anybody tried watching that Brazilian livestream website? It seems like it's going to be a pain in the ass to get it to work, I've tried a couple of free VPNs and nothing...

It's at 00:30 local time it seems (http://rockinrio.com/rio/en/line-up/bon-jovi).

Timezone is GMT-3 so I guess it's at 4:30am for you, tonight...

4am on the 23rd of Sept, not the 22nd. It will be the 22nd in Brazil but the 23rd for most other places ;)

Here are the official websites that will be streaming it:

http://multishow.globo.com/especiais/rock-in-rio/

http://g1.globo.com/musica/rock-in-rio/2017/

Bon Jovi is set to begin at 00:25am Brazil time, which means:

11:25pm - New York time;
04:25am - London Time;
05:25am - Munich Time;
01:25pm - Sidney Time.

Sorry for not help with the VPN and IP tools, I just don't how it works properly

The streaming is very good in terms of quality, and the stage is beautiful. Hope you guys can manage to watch it. Good luck!

Free Proxy sites usually almost don't work with these streams. Best idea is to get a real VPN software and use the 30 days trial version to get it to work.
