Now is the perfect moment to say "I told you so". Don't be shy ;)

Just listened to a few videos. Jon sounds amazing!

Bed Of Roses was fantastic. Best it's sounded for a long time. The high notes he hits are flawless. Someday I'll Be Saturday Night blew me away. The energy from Jon at the end and the ad libs in the middle.

Good to see him move on Prayer again and the end note on Memory was stunning.

I couldn't wait for this tour to finish but I'm actually gutted it has now. Jon has just about gained his confidence back and his vocals are the best they've been since 2013, definitely. He's smiling, running around and genuinely enjoying himself up there.

The whole band sound like an actual band now! It's made me happy to be a Bon Jovi fan again.

I'd say Jon's vocals haven't been this "good"/decent since June 2013. Even in July '13 he sounded worse/more unpleasant than nowadays. The whiny, nasal tone was f***ing annoying.

And what's even more impressive, he actually LOOKS AND ACTS LIKE A ROCK STAR AGAIN. HE'S THE FRONTMAN HE USED TO BE AGAIN.

Jon finally got his passion, energy, confidence and honest will to deliver back. His voice is still pretty much shot in general, but with those kinds of performances like Bed Of Roses, Saturday Night or These Days were last night, I couldn't give a f*** about that.

It's been a long, long, long, long, LONG time since I've last seen him like that. The guy is a f***ing warrior, a trooper, a soldier, a hero - truly an army of one.

Say what you want, but after last night it's clear for me that the guys still have it. I couldn't care less about Richie, that f***ed up has-been who can't even play properly anymore. Jon's got me on his side again, after many, many years.

This is the Bon Jovi I've been missing - and I've been missing it a LOT. Thank fortune, Jon, Katie Agresta, an anonymous psychologist or whatever for bringing my band back!

Goosebumps!

June 19, 2010, I'd say:

December 19, 2010 could be another contender (the guy went absolutely freaking nuts):

The Cleveland 2013 one was the last great performance. And boy what a performance it was. Now I have another one to add to my collection, which I never thought would happen again. I fvcking love electric Sat Night

I love it too. Small things that works very well live

nikos greece 09-24-2017 12:57 PM

its been a long long time...so happy to witness this comeback...we cant know what the future holds, if there will be another show like this but this show is proof jon can still do it, i hope he keeps improving and reach a lvl where he can do 80% of his back catalogue justice live. really impressed by the guy!!
All the songs i listened to sounded faster than the previous shows, which is good making them livier...jon probably gains confidence and told tico to speed them back up probably..
He needed those coup[le good shows...i m sure we ll have a tour next summer and probably a release or sth

Yeah, I felt the same when he did it in RiR. It's a small detail but you realize how much you've missed that Jon

Yeah, he done it a few times in RIR and I was hoping he'd carry it on for future shows. Just looks like a rock star again the past couple of shows.

KTF (incomplete). Sadly no jungle noises, but that's offset by the fact that he's nailing nearly every note. Video screens unexpectedly went out during the second chorus.

Thanks :)

symbeline 09-24-2017 01:15 PM

I can't believe they play electric Sat Night. I just asked for it a couple of days ago :O

It's been a long long long time since I've loved a performance so much. The adlibs, the energy, the attitude, wow just wow

Jon could sing with the shittiest voice ever and I'd still think it was perfect. Thanks for not giving up and for not listening to the naysayers (hey I'm in that group lol)

Memory was great too. A welcome addition to the set

And TD was surprisingly solid for being the last song. The ending was amazing. FVCKING AMAZING actually

CLEYoungGun21 09-24-2017 01:21 PM

Roses, Saturday Night, and Always sound really good.. nice to hear that they played Memory. And Jon’s energy in TD is awesome!

The last two shows with the videos...wow. Hope they now travel to Europe again but without a cold or hay fever. Couple of more new songs and that set is perfect. Jon looks like he is loving performing again and I tell you what, I'm a massive Richie fan too but I'm not missing him. Phil X absolutely rocks, fresh playing and still looks like he just loves the fact he is up there. Jon clearly loves him too with all the interaction. Jons voice is pretty decent, a lot of the famous stars voices are just as shot and are auto tuned even more, hopefully Europe is a sensible schedule with fantastic shows!

And what was going on with the girl in BOR? Must have known her, very physical!

Symbeline, thanks for the video links. Wow. He's singing not whispering through the verses. Up until the last couple shows (and except for Bed of Roses), I didn't think he was THAT much better than the NA leg. But he flipped some kind of switch last night. Markedly better. That was awesome.

I guess Jon's vocals are a lot more important to me than to most of you. And they're still shit. So ultimately, I don't find these videos very satisfying. That Always version wasn't any better than LA forum.

But I'm glad that Jon does seem more "into it" and these past couple of shows are better received here.

Always wasn't mind-blowing by any means but it was definitely better than the first leg performances. Surely you think BOR was great?

A lot of famous stars sing much worse than Jon - for example, Paul Stanley on his best day still makes Jon on his worst day sound like Pavarotti. Just compare:

https://youtu.be/aSUPM1Pf1hs (Paul probably at his '17 best).

https://youtu.be/IUDDo99vb6U (Jon probably at his '17 worst - and yes, he's definitely sounding better than Stanley).

Also, Jon's vocals aren't auto-tuned/playback at all, except for the high note on Prayer.

Cap Crash 09-24-2017 02:36 PM

Walleris is right. If his perfoming like this on every show like everyone wishes here, then the voice will become more shittier than ever. This one and the RIR are both good, but if Jon is gonna keep doing this, it might be 2015 again. Let's just hope he'll play it safe on the next shows. As much as I've enjoyed the band during this leg, we should not forgot the man's limits.

I mean... this is the end of the leg. He's not going to be doing any serious singing until next year's leg so that shouldn't be an issue. Regardless, Jon should be putting 100% into every show, and he should most definitely not 'play it safe'.

DryCounty 09-24-2017 02:52 PM

Haha, what the **** is happening? For brief moments it felt like watching a clip from 2011. It's so obvious that Jon's vocal problems is a confidence problem. The way he worked the stage on Bad Name and Prayer, I haven't seen that in so many years. And his vocls? What is happening? It's a little rough at some times, but at some moments I really got some serious shivers. BOR and man, even These Days sounded great. Prayer that he usually has a hard time to manage sounded decent.

Also, there's a lot of talk about Jon. But what a band this is. I love Richie to death, but Bon Jovi 2.0 is starting to both look and sound like a great, great band. If this is what the future holds, bring it on!
What a great way to start the day

bwehehehe 09-24-2017 03:04 PM

To be honest, every performance of Always in this tour so far has been pretty cringeworthy, and those of BOR that aren't in Spanish. But the fact that he did not shorten the high notes on that song in Sao Paulo, just wow. And as for Always, he handled the first chorus and the bridge much better, but the rest of the song remained a butcherfest.

I also have to hand it down to Jon for TD. Sure, the choruses leave a lot to be desired, but he's pretty much in control of the verses, and unlike Argentina where he did away with the last few lines, he went for "AIN'T NOBODY LEFT BUT US THESE DAYS." And got away with it.

Bed Of Roses was un-f***ing-believable. On the other hand, Always was really choppy - he nailed the first chorus perfectly and then was pretty much unable to sing any of the other choruses properly, shouting flat notes throughout the rest of the song. In my opinion, even the LA version was slightly better/more consistent; he managed to hit the "WILL love you" at the start of the second and third choruses as well as the "FORever and a day" on the last chorus, whereas in Sao Paulo he fell flat on every high note after the first chorus, minus the "if you told me to die FOR you" during the bridge that he somehow managed to nail.

Nah. He did it at the very first show of the BWC tour.

Thierry 09-24-2017 04:17 PM

Not perfect yet, but he is getting there. I'm actually looking forward to a tour next year :).

Gotta agree. If they produce this standard in Australia next year, I'll be happy. Not perfect, but good enough.

Awesome!!!! Yes!!!

And most of you should ask Simon Cowell for a job... Half the time I feel like I'm at an X-factor audition...

"Jon was great on this one, and only nailed the first verse on that one, and was flat on the other one"

It's the same comments on every single thread!!! It's all one big blur... Here is a crazy thought... We all have ears and don't need it spelled out every time...

And These Days was Awesome!!!! Love how Jon ended it!!! I almost cried. Brilliant!!!
