From Taking a Chance on the Wind: "If time's taught me a lesson, It's 'don't dwell on the past, 'Cause the bad things fade, And the good things, the good things are built to last." From LWTG: "I ain't living with the ghost, No future living in the past. I've seen what hate has done to hope; Tomorrow wasn't built to last..." WWWU: "...Don't go looking for tomorrow, Leaving yesterday behind. Writing every page together, Those days were not to last forever..." "Memories are nothing more than ghosts that we let in, Don't be afraid of them. Do you remember when... Writing every page together, Those days were not to last forever..." |
Yes, after re-watching the Colbert performance, it's definitely "those days and nights would last forever."

"Those days and nights would last forever" doesn't seem to add up IMO, as we all well know that those days and nights ended in 2013. |
Really like Walls. great tune, hope they will play it live....

Anyone who has seen the WWWU video can you tell me if Richie and Alec are in the video?

I personally think it might have made more sense if he had sung "Writing every page together, we thought those days would last forever... when we were us" after the first verse because that verse clearly refers to the way they did things in the early days and cautions against turning your back on all of it or "looking for tomorrow, leaving yesterday behind." Then he could have changed it to "Writing every page together, those days were not to last forever..." after the 2nd verse, which acknowledges that while sometimes things change (i.e., the way they used to work almost exclusively as a team), some things will never change (i.e., those things at the heart of their relationship). But he didn't ask me. :) |

Thanks for the video. It's definitely "Those days were not to last forever". Strange title anyway, though. It's like admitting that they are not them anymore. Or it could be meant that "we" = "the two of us" were "us" = "togehter" (i.e. Jon an Richie). Strange nevertheless...

Interesting that the only clear face in the shots from when they "were us" is Jon's. The shots of everyone else is like who they are now. PAGING BONJOVI90!!!! (Or anyone else who knows!) The shot of Jon in the rain, during the bridge: is that the show in Europe when Jon said something cute and the lighting flashed, right on cue? Can't remember any more detail than that. (And I'm sure THAT doesn't surprise you!) :D |

The one where Jon sang and the lightning hit on cue was in Munich in 2001 during Something To Believe In ;) |

Isolated the vocals, he's singing "those days were not to last forever". However, it can be mistaken for the above mentioned since the compressor seems to make the two t letters sound like an "s". |

We are sure that they have recorded a video of Walls? Do we have any confirmation? some pic?

New Music on the way!
Replace Knockout with Walls, Reunion with WWWU & Come On Up To Our House with I Will Drive You Home and it’s a strong post 2000 Jovi album. Add Richie’s harmonies on several songs, notably Scars, and it levels up a notch again. Wishful thinking but maybe there’s life in the old dog yet. At least, studio wise...

My perfect album would be a mix of songs from BB and THINFS, adding these two new songs, it would be a strong album. I think this time the amount of bonus songs have helped to save a solid tracklist.
The next album will have the difficult task of being equal or better. I hope Jon continues to be generous with bonus tracks despite not releasing Rage of Angels. :p |

Is this on You Tube? I searched but didn’t find a 2001 performance in the rain. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Doesn't seem to be on Youtube though. |
Is that all that Tidal money can buy? The video was a whole lot of nothing, and that's coming from someone who loves this kind of videos *shrug*
For a video celebrating the original band and how good things will last forever, there was 0 Alec and a couple of shots of Richie's head. Maybe there were more and I was blinded by Jon's teeth though  What I liked is the hilariously shoehorned product placement. What's next, a special appearance by a rapper instead of a guitar solo? |

They could have included older shows but God forbid Jon had to be reminded of the past when things were better |

After watching the vid I have a sudden urge to buy a Range Rover and drinks whisky |

They have all shows from 1993 onwards recorded, at least the footage that was shown on the screens. That's what Obie said some time ago. Furthermore, selected shows in the 80's (like Giants etc) were stored as well. And if they wanted footage of Alec, they still could've gone to the Access All Areas video. |

I gotta say that for a group who has tried so hard to sell the idea that they're a "band" again, they totally missed a golden opportunity to demonstrate it. Earlier today, a friend and I were talking about the video and she was saying how it's Jon, Jon, Jon; and I disagreed. I told her that, except for the shots from earlier days, I thought the band was more prominent in this one than they had been in any of the others, and said that at least the interactions didn't seem as forced as they did in the video for THINFS. But after our discussion I watched it again, intentionally looking for the shots of Jon with the rest of the band; and I was disappointed to realize that, unless I missed it, there are none. Zero. Zip. Nada. Not even with forced smiles. The closest it gets is that weird phone Skype thing with Phil-X, and even then they weren't in the same frame at the same time. There are lots of shots of the band, interacting with each other, both on stage and off; but none of Jon interacting with anyone. What struck me even more than that, though, is that in the present-day shots of Jon singing, the band is blurred to an unidentifiable abstract. It literally could be any group of people backing him up. I don't know what they were going for with that; but I'm not sure that there could be a clearer visual statement that it really is Jon and his hired guns now, regardless of how they're promoting it in the press. Whether that's the truth of the matter or not, it sure is the way it comes across in this video, which is sad, given the content of the song. |
I think the video is garbage.
Wouldbe been better if the video was full of footage from all their career. Its a song about the glory years but with recent footage? utter crap |

Totally agree with this. |
I think we should create a proper video for WWWU... the video the band put out sadly, doesn’t commemorate the best years
