To be fair it is refreshing to see new and enthusiastic fans, they are obviously not as jaded and cynical as some of us are. You can be aware of how bad Jon sounds but still want to enjoy the performances without the baggage of years and years of disappointment. But then some of them ruin the mood when they shout from the rooftops about how great a recent performance was and "omg his voice is back!!1!!!!" ;) |
Jon at home or an office or something.
He's shouting here. 2017. Btw new to this forum i dont know how you all act here. |
Glad I only decided to buy tickets for 1 show. Same old shit setlist. And I'm sorry, but I LOATHE Everett or whatever the hell is name is. He fits into a rock band like Andre The Giant fits into a size small shirt.

Im glad casuals are having a good time but ive followed the band for over 30 years so I guess Im a diehard if thats the correct name for it. But this to me is awful. Tribute bands do Bon Jovi better than Bon Jovi can. Breaks my heart (and ears!) to see but bar the odd good performance they sound awful and I have no interest in seeing this version live. |

These setlists have been generally the same for the best part of a decade and essentially nothing has changed from the last tour bar adding 1 new song. Combined with skipping Europe I don't think I've been less interested in a bon Jovi tour. Even a casual who went to see them on the lh tour would still see essentially the same structured show. A new era but no freshening up of things.

I guess the best we can hope for on this tour is ILTT not being played in every show and These Days making an appearance at Prudential and/or MSG... judging by the condition that Jon's voice was in last night, there won't be (m)any other huge surprises.

Happy I only paid 20 dollar for the Chicago ticket. I’m sure I’ll enjoy it but it doesn’t justify spending more on this.

What's going to happen to all of us that were brought to together by this band when it's all over? :( |

If the band becomes completely inactive in future (back in time. Just kidding..) I bet Jon will continue sometimes doing acoustic shows.

If they have one of the 1993 shows in vault or something they should release it. Like maybe Milton Keynes.
|
They should maybe release a show from 1996 (I know about Yokohama) too. Professional cameras. Finland 1996 seems good.
|
Just give me a remastered screen/soundboard recording of Frankfurt, Punchestown or Amsterdam '08 on DVD/Blu-Ray and I'll never complain about Jon's vocals again... :D

The same people complaining about Jon's voice day after day are the same ones who still continue to post here day after day... There is an irony there..as well as the cycle...First show starts with, "Shitty Vocals, Shitty Set, and Jon doesn't move". By the last show, "it's 2010 again, and with a little of this and that it could be 1995" etc. I'm with you (no pun)... The fact that I can still see this band in an arena, 35 years later is pretty impressive. I saw GnR in 1992! Axl's voice was shot and it's still one of the best shows I've ever attended, so whatever...There is more to a Bon Jovi show than just Jon's voice (however judging by this board you would never know that)... To this day, I've never left a show disappointed. Sure, I've had negative opinions from set-lists to where my seats where but I never let in ruin my good time (I'm sure the alcohol helps too)... From the crowd energy you get from the opening song to everyone singing Living On A Prayer at the end, it's all still worth it. The band sounds fantastic, I love arena acoustics, I am hearing songs from my favorite band, and the hits are still the hits... Jon's voice is done! I accept it. He's almost 60 years old, he had a fantastic run, and it's damage beyond repair (surgery is not an option people). He's working twice as hard as ever to give us half of what he once had. I respect that. And like I've said a million times, there are so many other distractions being there in person, it helps mask a lot of the pain. I don't get the best seats and I don't get the worst seats. I go to a few shows within my budget, it's not going to break my bank account, I get a group together, we usually do dinner & drinks before, we go to the show, we don't get all caught up in Jon's notes, and then we leave. Great Times... |

And I'll see you at the Reunion :p |

It's also probably the most accurate description I've read of Jon's performances over the last several years. I agree 100% that he deserves respect for that. |

And compared to, let's say, Paul Stanley, we actually still have it OK with Jon's voice... https://youtu.be/WIz1Uescse8 Vs. this: https://youtu.be/ZBdjZfpqWLw |

I never go to see some band just because of voice and good singing, for me it is the whole thing-songs that I like, band playing, audience involving and singing.Jon is still far from complete voice shot,he can do it. I respect them a lot,and when they stop playing I wont be harsh on them, just big thank you for music for my soul.

... (I don't know what it means and I'm to lazy to google it, but I like how it sounds, It really sounds like something... not very nice) |
*If* I had to go to a BJ show now I'd have a good time, no doubt about it. Like many of you here, I'd go with friends and just have a blast. We'd dance, laugh, drink and sing at the top of our lungs. My friends don't care about BJ, they are less than casuals. The agreement is they drag me to their shows, I do the same with BJ shows and everybody loves to sing the hits. The fact that we are there to simply have fun makes me blissfully ignorant while the show is on. Well not ignorant (My ears work perfectly) but... willing to tune out. But I don't see that happening now. I'd be cringing (natural reaction) but also hating that this is how this band is going to end their career.
But I envy you, there's no closeness to my friends because of a band, no memories attached to a show or an era. It is really beautiful that you can experience that, and I'm saying this honestly. |

Just retire Bad Medicine. Yes, most people know it and can sing along. But it’s not must-play like Wanted and Prayer. There are plenty of songs he still sings better than this. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I’ve met several pen pal or online friends that became real life friends. I hope to meet Deb in New Orleans. I assessed a child and the mother saw my picture of me and Jon in my office and we’ve been going to various shows together for like 15 years or so. We immediately became friends because we shared a passion for Bon Jovi. My life would look very different without this band. Maybe better, maybe worse. I’m in for the long haul, that’s for sure. |
