Sure, there's still no Dry County, Always, These Days, Hey God or even Blood On Blood, but I think this really is an awesome encore for the "2018 version" of Bon Jovi!

Also, great to hear that Roses sounded good and that Jon screamed on KTF again.

Keep this up, Jon!

EDIT: Judging by the FB stream that Thomas posted above, it even sounded like Jon went for the original higher note on the "...that gets me through the NIGHT..." part on (at least) the last chorus of HAND. I'd Die For You sounded great, too.

Say what you want, but I honestly think that not all the hope is lost yet.

I am glad Jon brought your hopes up again! Just have hope and patience and all will be well! ;):)

bwehehehe 03-23-2018 07:28 AM

Memory and IDFY weren't even audibles according to the setlist.

WhamATC 03-23-2018 07:32 AM

I am sure the rarer songs will come later into the tour.

Falco 03-23-2018 08:06 AM

Sounds good, I am looking forward to seeing them next month! I was half expecting Walls to make an appearance tonight seeing the video was released today, which I haven't seen yet because Tidal is dumb and needs to go away.

I think IDFY was great or perfect for 2018 standards.....Memory not so

Burlhouse 03-23-2018 08:45 AM

BOR was one of the best till now, in my opinion.

They will definitely play Dry County, Always and These Days in Jersey, NYC and Montreal + Toronto, at least. Maybe not all of them in the same show, though.

SuperBrad 03-23-2018 09:27 AM

Wow , that BOR was actually great .... impressed .

Clearly. Now if Jon only got the hint from here that he shouldn't be playing ILTT... wait, he did already - he hasn't done it after SLC! :D

Phil maybe?

EDIT: It also seems like Jon was much less "whispery" here than in Little Rock or Denver, for example. Maybe Phil really checked out this forum and told him: "They're really pissed off about your vocals on the forums right now. If you can't do anything else, at least stop the f*cking whispering - it's driving them nuts!" :D

Lol that'd be great :D what about singing that bed of nails a bit longer?? Makes so much difference to me

Just get rid of songs 4,5,7 & 14 for much better songs and you have a very good setlist.

IDFY is one of my all time Jovi tracks. This was good as well considering it was an encore. Jon did fine with this. Chorus was slowed down a touch.

Bounce7800 03-23-2018 12:44 PM

Good to see a bit of change finally. The US setlists can be so static, but if they can do 2 songs like that in the encore and change them up to literally anything, that would be decent enough.

Cap Crash 03-23-2018 02:12 PM

IDFY sounded great considering that they played it on a slower tempo.

jon-flp 03-23-2018 03:02 PM

Phill killed in the IDFY solo!!

But I hate his guitar sound in MAM. It doesn't have any sustain...

Yeah I had the same feeling in Munich on the BWC tour when they played it. The tone doesn't fit the song at all.

If I had a better word to describe his playing there, he does so in a discrete rather than a continuous manner.

Yes, I was talking specific about the guitar effect used in that song.

Great to see him moving and working the crowd again. Hoping the voice will get better as well.

Xavi 03-23-2018 08:28 PM

In my opinion his voice has improved a bit in the last couple of shows

Fredrik 03-23-2018 08:49 PM

For the first time, in a looong time, I'm actually positive about a performance for once. Bed Of Roses is really great and something I'd expect someone of his age should be able to deliver. Good on him!

Probably someone from Camp Jovi is reviewing this forum. I had this feeling for some time, I guess it's Jon's decision to give the fans what they want or not. I'm glad that he's starting to play these things, it's a good start, if they prepare 10 weird songs and they're releasing it from time to time on this year's tour, it would please the fans again. They have to create this illusion, and fans will go the show on multiple occasions.

Good Job Jonny.

Absolutely agree! He's awesome at the 80s stuff but when there's something more melodic or subtle he's all over the place.

Didn't they do that already in 2013? It was played in Germany? (It was the show that opened with Rocking All Over The World and launched into IDFY shortly after, I think) and it sounded pretty slow back then.

I'm happy it was played though. I freaking love it, one of my faves from Slippery

WhamATC 03-23-2018 11:35 PM

Yes IDFY was played in 2013.

I don't hear the great vocal improvement and believe me, I'm not happy to point it out not do I wish to nitpick. The vocal performance is still very patchy and I honestly think this is it. IT IS an improvement from the first leg, that much I agree, but the way things have evolved I firmly believe this is the best Jon we'd get vocally, great in some parts, rough in others. His last great transformation (2008 ) had a solid starting point, yes some shows were awful but he sounded really good in the promo shows from 2007, better than the last shows of the HAND tour. The evolution was not 0 to 100

Anyway, the truth is the better he gets as a frontman, the more I miss Richie and think of all the great shows we won't have. See, I tried to be positive but ended in a depressing note

It was played in Cologne, but not after Rockin' All Over The World. Somewhere around the 6th spot in the setlist and also done in a similar position in Bern 2013. I remember being impressed in Cologne how Phil ripped through that solo. It's just the type of solo he's best at doing.

Less cheap rosé wine might help curing that mode :p

I thought Bed Of Roses was great. Started off a little patchy but from then on, was really really good. Jon's also slowly stopping the annoying pronunciation of words.

The outro was brilliant!!!

Enjoyed that.

Captmorgs 03-24-2018 01:07 AM

Bed Of Roses is not even my favorite ballad, but if he’s gaining confidence and can do it some justice like that, go for it. Play it every night.
