The guy who put all the albums in order went last night and this is his twitter feed... @thescreendoor 8h8 hours ago More There are more “hired guns” than original members. They’re working hard but the setlist doesn’t do them any favors @thescreendoor 8h8 hours ago More The crowd was motionless on “Lost Highway”. One of their better post 2005 songs. “When We Were Us” now. #bonjovi @thescreendoor 8h8 hours ago More “It’s My Life”; everyone puts their phones down and stands up again. @thescreendoor 8h8 hours ago More “It’s My Life” plays like the mega hit it is. Now it’s “We Weren’t Born To Follow”. People back in their seats and on their phones. @thescreendoor 8h8 hours ago More “We are going to go back in time” and the crowd puts their phones away and get back on their feet. “It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s another re-run of MOONLIGHTING...’Runaway’!!!!” @thescreendoor 7h7 hours ago More Phil X played a hell of a guitar solo on “Runaway” and the other guy on guitar played a mini solo at the end. Phil X > Other Guy @thescreendoor 7h7 hours ago Not going to lie, there’s a huge gap on that stage without @TheRealSambora , that being said Phil X is damn good and a lot of fun to watch. If Richie ever came back I’d like to see Phil take on some mean rhythm guitar. @BonJovi #KeepTheFaith #BonJovi @thescreendoor 7h7 hours ago More How the hell did the band not play “Keep the Faith” at the @rockhall induction? @thescreendoor 7h7 hours ago More The ticket gods love me, but the setlist gods don’t. “Amen” is on right now. @thescreendoor 7h7 hours ago More “Bed of Roses” was solid elevated by JBJ in the crowd. “Lay Your Hands On Me” was ok, a song that desperately needed Richie. @thescreendoor 6h6 hours ago More I didn’t need to hear “God Bless This Mess”. God love him for trying but it doesn’t work. “Sleep” and “Bad Medicine” were solid, Phil X again flexing his muscles, but the Sambora harmonies left a gaping hole. @thescreendoor 6h6 hours ago More I adore “Make a Memory” but it’s not a great encore song. “Wanted” without Richie’s harmonies is blasphemous. In the end, most people formed over $100 to hear “Livin’ on a Prayer” which has the place on their feet. @thescreendoor 5h5 hours ago More The only post 2000 song that could match the 1984-92 material was “It’s My Life”, even “Who Says...” dragged a bit. I was rather shocked at how tepid “Lost Highway” was. |
I actually like the setlist. Just drop WGIGO and Amen. Switch BOR up with Always (painful as it would be). And I actually love GBTM, so that's cool with me in the set.

05. Lost Highway - Same as WLOL 06. WWWU (how many people know what this song is or about?) Thats a really piss poOr section of the show after only 4 songs. No idea why JBJ rates the LH songs so much. |
They definitely should keep GBTM.
They shouldn't always play Always instead of BOR, Danfan. Preferrably have a rotation between Always and BOR, some nights Always and some BOR, mostly BOR. I think it would work even better if they sometimes played BOR and Always in in one setlist. |

I was at the show last night and I was sorely disappointed. Jon’s voice, in my opinion, sounded really bad. It seemed that most of the time he wasn’t even truly singing, it was somewhere between singing and talking. However he did sound pretty decent on a Amen and BOR and he hit those notes with the Shout intro very well so the ability is there. I read a review of previous show and the reviewer mentioned that his biggest gripe was that the tech side of the performance was over produced. I saw what he meant last night if indeed he was referring to the instruments. To me it just sounded too heavy for lack of a better word. While Phil X is a talented guitarist, I think he was overdoing it. Maybe they are trying to make up for Jon’s voice. It just seemed out of place for a Bon Jovi performance. Funny enough, I saw him with the band in 2013 and I enjoyed the show much more at that time. Perhaps now that he is a “permanent“ member he is letting loose?
They also performed way too many of what I called their “easy listening“ songs for my taste. I also felt like Jon was really just putting on a show. He has always been a great front man but he has also really seemed to enjoy himself. Last night it all really did seem to be an act. And way too much with the jazz hands. Lastly Richie’s absence was definitely felt. His backing vocals and guitar really made the songs what they were. It’s not the same without him. It’s funny that people are mentioning the 2010 Chicago shows on here. I was at one of those shows and it was awesome. I was thinking about it last night. Watching those videos makes me a bit sad to see what the band has become. I’m not sure if I will be in a rush to get tickets to the next show. Maybe if Richie ever comes back but that doesn’t seem to be happening right now. It’s disappointing because I think the possibility for Jon to still write really good songs and work on his vocals is there but to be honest, I think his priority is on churning out mediocre albums and making a fortune on tours. I was at the show last night and thought it was really good . I’m on holiday from Ireland so havnt seen them since 2013 in Slane and this was far better . Jon had loads more energy on stage then last years tour . The hall of fame seems to have given him a huge boost .
