I can’t really speak to the specific things that Richie did when playing because TBH I don’t really know much about actually playing instruments. It’s just how is sounded to my ear. Like I said, in 2013 it sounded much better. Perhaps it is just this tour and having Shanks around who, from what I’ve read on here, likes to over produce everything. But basically, it’s not the same without Richie. Jon also doesn’t have that same chemistry with anyone else on stage.
I’ve been watching these 2010 Chicago clips and I forgot how great that show was. Jon sounded and looked amazing and he genuinely seemed to be having a good time. It’s bittersweet to watch.
