'It's My Life', the first track on Bon Jovi's Grammy-nominated 2000 album "CRUSH"

THIS IS A GREAT SONG I know this song has kind of gotten stale over the last 18 years for so many Jovi fans, and that's not without good reason. It's been at every live show since its birth, and it's always been a bit of a stinker live (compared to the album version at least). But golly gosh! It's a fantastic track. I'm hard-pressed to think of many choruses this band has recorded that soar as high as this one does. There's a reason this song was a hit. You couldn't have picked a better comeback single. Fuuuuck. If there's one thing Mr. Jonathan Bonathan Jovie can do, it's write a positively thumping chorus. discuss |
There's just....so many font choices here!
I think this is one of those songs that I loved to death with it came out and just over played it. Every now and again it comes on shuffle and I appreciate it but it's not a song I search to play. |

It always amazes me why certain songs become huge hits and others don't...
It's My Life, Everyday, and Beautiful Day could all essentially be the same song so why is one loved, one hated, and one just Okay? Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk |

It's My Life had a chorus that knocked you out and seemed to flow effortlessly. Everyday sounded forced.

I've never understood the "IML copies" people rave about. Just because the chord structures are similar doesn't make the songs copies. Bon Jovi has pretty much always worked with 4-5 chords in their songs. There's nothing similar about the vocal melodies in Everyday and It's My Life, the riffs are not similar, the chord structure are no the same, the solos are different. Both are "live your life"-songs but in what world does that make them copies? |
