Not to beat a dead horse, but Christ, enough. Pains me to say it, but it's getting embarrassing now. He can't sing anymore. Someone close needs to tell him.

I agree. It's actually more than embarrassing; it's absolutely f*cking horrifying. Please, Jon - retire.

PS. And please, Rosa - don't come anywhere near this discussion...

he needs just to rearrange some songs a note lower, not such a big deal..
many here are overdramatic demanding perfection...this note is obviously out of reach at this point for jon, on a good day with warm up etc etc he may had hitted it, when you sing high its common to have a crack once or twice, sounds bad but it can happen, it means nth at all...
a mistake can put you off but we should enjoy each song as a whole. i remember myself in the past critisizing richie for being sloppy because he might hit 2-3 false notes in a 2,5 h set...nowdays listening to the new guitarists of bj i have reaveluate my past criticism...i was wrong, in a live setting you ll make mistakes, a live performance can have flaws and still contain some magic..
having said all that i think jon must continue to work on his voice, change a couple hard melodies that are too high and downtune certain songs a whole step .
ps.in the studio environment where the singers push themselves to their limits i d like to see the vocal recording of always for example and who the fans would react if the realised how hard that song is ...live is 10 times easier for example...jons voice probably cracked again and again ...it means nth..

If the only aspect of a good show was the vocals, and granted that is a big part for me, then I would agree with you. But, a rock and roll show is so much more than the vocals. Jon still has the other aspects of a great front man. If he stops attempting the difficult songs then their's bitching, if he tries, and sounds bad, voice cracks, etc, then he's hung on the cross and crucified. I could be wrong but i don't think he will stop performing any time soon. For me, I'd still rather him try.

I'll jump on this one and say you are all way too overdramatic.

You take one butched note or one song that's out of his "now range" and base the rest of his career on it. TBH, I think he sang most of it pretty decent.

He also sounded pretty good on When We Were Beautiful and more than a handful of other songs so I say keep going...
