You’re right. He is a full-on dead ringer for Jon. The rest of the member (besides the drummer) look almost as close to their counterparts. Obviously with a tribute band, I was able to to get a lot closer to them than I would at an actual Bon Jovi concert and it is quite weird seeing “Jon” up close.

Nowadays I’d rather see these guys than the real Bon Jovi.

Here’s a clip of the band with Jon on stage with them;

And here's a 2016 Prayer performance by them:

Uncanny - the singer really is more like Jon than Jon himself. "Richie" and especially "Hugh" look like total doppelgangers as well!

Tribute bands creep me out.

TBJE did give me a rather eary feeling!

The Metallica tribute band I saw in 2012, "Mentallica", didn't creep me out so much.

I'll never forget being at the Manchester show in 2011 and in GC, that fella from BJE was walking around wearing ****ing sunglasses and doing the cheesy JBJ smile when people asked for selfies! It was pissing down rain but he had sunglasses on [emoji2359]He was proper loving the attention, though. Fair enough I guess.

Pretty sure it was the same in Milton Keynes 2006. I remember seeing photos from the pit with someone looking like Jon (even the same shirt as the original wore) and sneaking onto like every second picture.

I don’t know about other people’s opinion, but personally I think that sounds pretty twisted and arrogant. The guy can obviously impersonate JBJ as well as anyone, but for f*ck’s sake, cut the act and leave the character on stage...

Wanted from LA are pretty awesome:

This guy does a GREAT 2008-esque Jon in terms of look and mannerisms, and the band are very tight. However, as far as the vocals go, for the most part I think he'd be better off doing the current JBJ...

Hahaha, the audience shots are terrific. Playing to one quarter of an old folks home.

Btw, I just watched a Bon Jovi Forever gig and am not impressed. The drummer is all over the place (pushing the tempo all the time) and the singer/frontman reminds me more of Sammy Hagar than Jon. Also, what's Rob Halford doing as the bass player?

The guitar player really looks like Richie, though, and plays well - props to him :D

BJFan99 03-14-2021 04:12 PM

Btw, can't help but genuinely laugh at this guy fronting "The Ultimate Bon Jovi Experience" :D

https://youtu.be/viFwJxeqQMk

The singer doesn't look a thing like Jon even with the clothes, sunglasses and haircut, WAY overdoes his moves, and sounds like that one guy from your school years who thinks he's going to be the biggest rock star on the planet someday but behind his back everyone's laughing at him as he's completely unable to sing    I chose the more pleasant option of emotion, the other one being just purely cringing...

EDIT: To top it off, the rest of the band clearly are perfectly competent musicians and at times sound even great doing these songs. The singer really doesn't deserve them.

EDIT: Here's him singing BOR solo while accompanying himself with piano - he's actually better than I first thought, nothing amazing but definitely not any worse than your regular pub singer either:

Have you by now analyzed every Jon video out there or has the obsession simply grown that big that cover and tribute band singers will be examined now as well?

LOL :D :D :D I'm just killing time with these bands as well as (obviously) Bon Jovi's old concerts until the band give me something new to rip into pieces vocally

BJFan99 03-15-2021 12:30 PM

Btw, does anybody here know/remember an old tribute band named Bon Jordi? It seems these guys were quite popular back in the day - I think they even recorded an album of Jovi tunes at some point:

And by now they are great (apart from the bassist, who's a bit clumsy at times - especially on the KTF intro). Ally, the singer, does an absolutely spot on portrayal of roughly OWN era Jon, albeit with a bit more of a raspy tone than post-2k JBJ in general (more like 90s style vocals). Apart from the aforementioned bassist, the rest of the band are extremely tight and professional as well.

This band is not a Bon Jovi tribute band, but I didn't know where to put this.

Amazing cover.

Message was Richie's old band. Dean Fasano great vocals performance. Rest in peace.

I quite like this slower version of it, its different !

I actually saw Jovi perform this song in May 93 at Birmingham NEC … I believe it was the first time/ only time they performed it, Jon told the bootleggers to get the tape rolling

Yeah, that's acoustic performance is fantastic, much better than studio track for me.

Amazing! Fantastic take on the guitar solo. Just a good old top tier BJ track.

Oh man, changing the time signature from 4/4 to 3/4 is super interesting, digging this.

That was cool , actually better than the current real BJ

That's not saying much :D they're really good, although from what I've heard from a valid source, Tony has really let the JBJ role take hold of himself off stage as well, which I can't say I respect at all. He's a great performer and very close to Jon's physical features/performing style, but he really should keep the Jon persona only on stage.

Alphavictim 07-20-2021 02:35 AM

That sounds ****ing creepy. Not that the general concept of feeling real emotions when somebody is basically acting with every single "sincere" quip they let out isn't already a tough sell...

NEW JOVI - A new tribute band from UK and the best iv seen yet, seeing them in staffs in august … The Sambora resemblance is uncanny, like his twin not only in looks but also performance, he's got it bang on

BJFan99 07-24-2021 10:07 AM

IMO the best Richie impersonator ever was the guy from Bon Jersey. Sad to hear that he left the band a while ago, though.

He took his Richie part seriously then even quitting when Richie did :-)
They need a Phil x replacement

Then we'd have a cover band that sounds like a band that sounds like a cover band of how the band once sounded. That's pushing it

Keep The Faith from Canada are truly incredible, with both one of the best Jon and Richie impersonators out there - and even Dave appears realistic:

Ohhh yeah, I've seen this guy at just about every Toronto show I've gone to since 2003. Always a blast to watch him walk into the crowd.
