Someone on twitter said that Jon was sick in those earlier shows, so maybe that was why they were worse. That and major jet lag, I would figure.
So glad to hear it was a great show. I love how he walks in from the back of the stadium. |
looking at videos now...looks fab

I'm flying home soon so I'll just quickly say I had a great time. Jon sounded decent for the most part by current standards. I don't know that he'll ever sound great again (I can hope), but he was moving around and being a front man worth seeing (worth it for me anyway).
I also met Phil X on Friday... Really cool dude who was super nice to everyone. Plus I got to catch up with family and friends based in Sydney, so all in all I'm glad I made this trip. :) I uploaded a couple of videos... I really enjoyed the Sydney concert. Jon’s entrance from the back was a surprise and amazing and set the tone for the night. I was only 15 or so rows back from the stage front where the vibe was great. Lots of runaway tour customers around me and the were really into it, including the new songs. THINFS sounded amazing and we all got into it. Rollercoaster was performed well and lots of dancing. Jon was a true showman running ,jumping, shadow boxing all over the stage. His voice wasn’t an issue, don’t rely on crappy smart phone cameras that aren’t designed to record professional music. Jon had enormous stamina to perform a nearly 3 hour show on a balmy evening. I was worried they wouldn’t sell out the stadium but it was at capacity- I estimate 65,000 to 70,000

I first saw the band in 2010 aged 12, and then again at 15. Last night, now at age 20, it feels as though it's come full circle. Quite emotional to see the songs you've grown up with played live by a band that's still able to give any crowd a phenomenal night out.
Yes, you can tell that Jon struggles, but when the band backs him, and the crowd joins in, it really doesn't matter. Additionally, a slight setlist adjustment and lively showmanship from Jon elevates any drab gig to one that feels alive and exciting. If this is the last time I see the band, I think I can live with it. Great show. Sent from my A1601 using Tapatalk |

Would have preferred THINFS to open.i always enjoy a new on off the latest album to start a show. And disappointed knockout didn’t follow up

I think the fact that they didn't slow down any songs like they often do nowadays made the show a lot more enjoyable.
Also is it just me or did Jon sound a lot better than usual for 2018 on most of this show? I hope he isn't starting to put autotune on his mic... |
