Fast question for Jon/David/Tico/Phil

As we can see band walking on streets in place where the'll play. I will try to find them in Warsaw. It's big chance to make short interview with them. I did that kind of interview in Gdańsk 2013.. I asked for example Obie about NJersey Box-set (why they didn't released it ecc) and Phil X is that true that he don't like BJ music (he was big ssw and nj fan). I don't know if my question for Obie had any input to Obie that he decised to give Jon/Record company idea to release NJ box-set but I have feeling that yes i had. When I asked him about this NJ box-set he automaticaly said that all stuff leaked so there is no reason to do it. I replied him that they leaked but in very poor quality and we want it in good quality. He thought a little and said that he will think about it in summer. Rest of story we know. So do you have any question for band which I could ask when I'll meet them?

My few questions:
- Why them don't invite any of their heroes (Bruce, Paul ecc) to collaboration on new record
- Will you release TDays/KTf/Hand box-set in the future
- Why you don't give fans which pre-order new album acces to full show from Odeon or for some rare stiff like Songs Nothing, This Aint Love, Water Into Wine
- Do you will try perform on Super Bowl in future?

What you will ask when you will meet them?

I'd like to know if they'll ever release the FULL UNCUT Version of their Live From London 1995 show, be it as a standalone release or as part of a TD Deluxe Box-set. I'd also like to know if we'll ever see live releases from older tours both in the 90's (KTF Europe 1993) and post-2000 (Hyde Park 2003, anything from 2006 and London 2010). If you happen to meet Obie again, please make sure to lay great emphasis on the fact that many fans want to see old concerts come to life in one way or another.

Ask him for full clean copies of Nothing, Cadillac man, Mona Lisa and all of the live at the Odeon set.

He'll probably have them on a memory stick in his pocket to put on eBay when Jon dies.

Ask him for a relase of Hammersmith Odeon 1990 and Munich 2003.

And please don't put the idea of a Super Bowl performance in his head

Aloha !

All these things have been answered in the past though.

Were they? What were the answers?

My guess:

There's a reasonable remaster of nothing on youtube anyway.

Cadillac man is probably just a flat 'no'.

I don't recall ever hearing anything official from the band about Mona Lisa?

I'm guessing Hammersmith Odeon has too many covers.

Obie has always said there is no studio version of Cadillac Man. If that's true, and given that they must have submitted it to a film company, best guess is that there is a live/soundcheck version in their archives.

Jon confirmed in 1991 in a Q&A in his fan club magazine that they never recorded a studio version of the song.

Why would too many covers stop them releasing it? If it's video you have to pay a licencing fee for each song, but for audio you just have to pay the relevant royalties...

As Nige said, there's probably a sound check version in the archives which would still be superior to the versions we have on YouTube. Shame there's no studio version.

It is 100% feasible for them to release but not consistent with the mindset of BJ Incorporated. i.e. it doesn't make business sense. That many royalties for something that is of interest to diehards doesn't make sense when they could spend Obie's time on something which will sell better and incur zero royalties or licensing fees.

NJ deluxe edition is a great example. Marketable to casual fans and die-hards and almost entirely BJ material.
