I came away from Wembley remembering why I like this band.. tonight in Coventry I'd say pull the plug.

Saturday was excellent was yesterday that bad? I feared 1 from the 3 uk shows would be a diff one.

Compared to Wembley it was poor, Jon's timing and vocals were way off and he struggled from very early on. I knew as soon as they delayed coming on stage it would be a shorter set. Zero surprises and whilst it was nice to hear more from THINFS the flow of the set didn't work for me. The encore of Runaway and Prayer was just too safe.

Lots of fans around me enjoyed it and there were moments that felt good but overall it was like 2 different bands.

Well having just got back from the Ricoh and reading the reviews . Yes set list was short but I can honestly say as a veteran of over 80 shows , this is in my top 5, the band were on fire and Jon was all over the stage like a mad man ! He looks happy to be there again . Vocals went down after I'll be there for you , but you don't really notice anyway , it's something that doesn't bother me at all !

This was probably the most important tour they have done and they pulled it off ! The Ricoh was rammed it really was . They have redeemed them selves and proved they are the greatest live band in the world once again !

It has pleasantly surprised me just how packed the shows have been during this UK leg. I honestly expected big gaps in seating areas and the GA to be quite sparse in places.

80 shows is a hell of an amount. Made up you enjoyed this gig so much when you have so many others to compare it to.

80 wow, I have some way to go. Glad to hear you enjoyed it. Seems that those who go to the shows have a better time than those trying to catch glimpses on social media and then complain about how bad Jon sounds.

@eddie73 - that 80 Jovi shows or 80 concerts inc Jovi.

Reckon I’m up to about 60 all in. I only go to gigs of those of who I really like so I’m picky.
My mate will go and see anyone. I’m at the age where if it ain’t Thurs, Fri or Sat I probably won’t go unless it’s on my doorstep.

First post in a long time, hope everyone is keeping well

So I did Dublin night 2, Anfield, Wembley and Coventry last minute.

I had been quite underwhelmed by all the YouTube videos and set lists before the tour. I booked Anfield and Wembley on the basis of the new venues with Anfield and Wembley which in hindsight was a mistake. The venue doesn’t necessarily ever guarantee a better show. However I couldn’t know tick off “Bon Jovi at Wembley” box even as the line up now.

Dublin was my fave show. There’s a lot to be said for having a long 6 year break. I also took my other half who seemed to “get” my obsession a bit more too. Jon just loves Dublin and the RDS. Someday I’ll be sat night and IBTFY were fantastic, extended versions.

The crowds at Anfield and Wembley were immense they made the shows for me. However the “birthday songs for Paul” (a day late) were cringe to the max. It kind of annoyed me, they can learn a Beatles song but can’t be bothered to learn something from the back catalogue to please the fans that travel for them. Don’t get that.

Blood on Blood and Always were fantastic at Wembley and were worth the entry fee. However, it did seem like he rushed off the stage a bit at the end, maybe my expectations were far too high, I donÂ’t know.

Onto Coventry _ unfortunately this is where I saw where Jon is really struggling vocally and it made me really sad tbh. Bad medicine was the worst IÂ’ve seen, with people around me commenting about it. I knew at that point we were getting a 2 song encore . I still enjoyed the show donÂ’t get me wrong, he worked the crowd. Paul Walleris summed it up perfectly- Jon the singer is long gone but the showman is still very much alive.

Two other points, the company all week has completely made the tour once again. As well as meeting up with Deb and Thierry at Dublin. No matter what shows we get, we always have a blast.

Lastly Phil X - heÂ’s grown on me so much. He really gives everything every show and is owning that stage. Got to meet him on Thurs at the guitar tutorial, even tho everyone there were Bon Jovi fans who knew F all about playing guitar haha. He made a big joke of it and was so likeable. Unlike Shanks, the less said about him and his ego the better. For me, he does not belong on that stage.

Sorry to go off topic on this thread so much, didn’t think I deserved my own thread after being awol for so long

93 is my fav ever gig by anyone closely followed by GNR Wembley 91.

I was too young for 89 and I’m gutted I missed it but 93 was a band at the peak of its powers

Thats one show i’d love to have seen even over the 3 nights at Wembley in 95. I’ve been quite nostalgic today, we really used to be very spoilt in the changes to set lists in years gone by. Like with everything, you just don’t appreciate it at the time.

I never nearly made MK 93 due to firstly , you could pay by cheque in those days and my mates mum sent off for 4 tickets but with a week to go I got panicky and called the box office. No record of anything so my mates mum checked her bank account and the money was still there. She’d forgotten to put cheque in envelope !! My dad gave me his credit card to use and we got the last few tickets.

Then on way up to MK my fiesta car started to play up. Just got there as it sounded like it was dying.

Had a great time at gig. Forgot about the car.

Got in car to come home and it seemed fine. Then car started packing up about 2 miles from home. My mate got it started again so we went to a motorway burger van. I bit into a burger and a bit of gristle went right through my tooth!

Got the car home. Turned out to be a blocked air filter. Got an appointment at dentist and the hole was so big in tooth I had to have it out! 18 and one tooth down.

Eventful but all bands (inc manics, little angels and billy idol ) were superb.

Jovi were on another level. Review in RAW Mag said BJ are so good live now it’s scary!!!

So this is my summary (regular here a long time ago for those who don’t remember me)

This was the only show I could get to this tour, unfortunately as it appears it was the worst in terms of setlist and Jon’s vocal ability.

I have to admit, I didn’t actually notice the struggle until after IBTFY, which was great but I think it just killed his voice for the rest of the evening.

The setlist was short, but I do think they may have added some of the audibles had Jon’s voice not completely blown on IBTFY.

Could have done without WWBTF, LH and GBTM. Although, I know perhaps unpopular here (well, it used to be!) I love Captain Crash.

Disappointed with no In These Arms, used to be a setlist staple and one of my absolute favourites.

Biggest disappointment was Wanted Dead or Alive. It is my favourite song and every time I’ve seen them there is always something special about it. Whether it’s a bit of ad-libbing or extended into. It was just very abrupt and seemed very out of place in the middle of the set.

On the plus side, Jon played the amazing frontman as usual. Got the crowd going from the start. Loved bad name as an opener and followed by raise your hands and BTBMB made for a really energetic start to the show.

Dublin, Liverpool and London were all stops where the band stayed in town and soaked up the atmosphere.

The literally helicoptered into Coventry and out again.

You could see Jon signalling the helicopter to land next to stadium during IBTFY. He couldn't get out quick enough.

2 completely different gigs. The 89 one was on the back of doing 4 shows on the arena NJ uk tour, it was their 1st " own" stadium gig over here , obviously MOR 85 and 87. I was 15 at the time, remember going on the coach with my mates with way ahead travel company .

Was a brilliant show as Jon was " that man " . Skid row opened and they were incredible, already had the debut at this point so was a huge fan, vixen were eye candy but again was familiar with there stuff, then Europe who were in-between recording a new album, got 2 new tracks of them that day.

Jovi were on fire that day and the crowd was unbelievable . I still remember Jon sitting on the stage with legs hanging over singing the chorus to prayer, before going into the first verse. We got Tyler / Perry come onto do walk this way, back flips the lot !.... Strangely enough I have the cd of this but only 9 tracks are on it, not even set list fm has the full track listing .

Then MK 93 .... in all fairness I don't remember a great deal about their set, but more angels, manics and idol as was on the beer( bit like sunday when you collected ticket from Leicester )... but again got the cd , not played it for a while so will dust it off I think.....not one clip on you tube of that show bizarrely

Jon is a pro. He can sing, interact with fans and give instructions to overhead helicopters to the beat of a song.

That's why he never plays Raise Your Hands near the end of the show because it'd cause havoc in the sky.

Exactly. He's been constantly doing that since their European outdoor shows in 1993. Any time he feels uncomfortable in an open air setting, he does this.
