As Alpha said, Jon almost certainly owns the rights to anything they recorded, expecially in the last 10-15 years. Some contracts will stipulate that they own anything the band (jon) does while under contract to them, but that's a very bad, very old school contract. Lots of contracts were like that in the 80s/90s (remember credits on other people's records, such a "Jon Bon Jovi appears courtesy of Mercury Records"), which could explain why we are only getting later footage - I expect Jon negotiated a new contract at some point.

Some of the stuff that was recorded for broadcast will be owned by the respective stations/channels.

What Jon doesn't own is all of the publishing to the songs that he co-wrote. He can't simply give these songs away for free without paying the appropraite royalties, which is the only reason that I can think of for only sharing 3 songs per show?

And then the stuff they are giving us is just fluff... Who the **** wants a We Got It Going On from The Circle tour? LTOR or These Arms Are Open All Night from Bounce...

Another example, I really enjoy the live versions of Right Side Of Wrong way more then the album versions so we finally get a Soundboard version of it, and Jon is "Yeahing" all over it.

They just manage to **** everything up.

But they ARE putting out what they said they would, just A) not a lot of it and b) not stuff you like.

What do you mean by it's nothing that they stated? A handful of the shows were unreleased/previously unseen, fulfilling (very lazily and shittily, yah) their promo copy. I get you're dissatisfied but some of the things you disliked I was into (Jon watching Bounce footage and telling stories is miles more interesting then giving us a 50th version of Bad Name etc). You have to realize this project isn't about giving us soundboard versions of rare songs, right?

I just rewatched the video and Jon starts with, "You asked for it, we heard you"

1. Never heard before tracks - FAIL

2. Show tapes that have been in the vault "Forever" - FAIL ... Forever means 80s and 90s

3. "Backstage" access that no one ever dreamed of - FAIL

4. And the photos that date back before Slippery. FAIL... the Story Of Love video of his family doesnt count.

Then when you watch the footage afterwards, it's all HD Footage of....

- Jon with fans on stage which looks like the Crush Tour...

- Something from the Slippery days.

Etc..

Bottom Line... Most of the stuff we got has been recycled previously released material.

The very few rare things we have recieved does not equate to the above.

People spent 80 bucks for this.

- Backstage access means backstage access. All that cool stuff we watched in Access All Areas and When We Were Beautiful Docs

- Never heard tracks means Halo, Peter Pan, Etc.

- Photos before Slippery means the first two albums and maybe even pre Bon Jovi bands...

- Show tunes in the vault "Forever" doesnt mean WGIGO from The Circle tour.

Jon said "You asked for it, we heard you"...he must have heard the wrong thing because no one is asking for anything they posted so far.

What we asked for is Hammersmith, Red Bank, Moscow, Etc....Unreleased Demos...

Jerry and his cult love whatever’s put out so if Jon is pleasing them and it’s costing neither time nor money. Job done.

Bottom line, you paid $80 total not $80 for videos and you're cherry picking specific examples to fit your argument. Just because something from 2010 was released doesn't negate that something from 2002 also was. I really wish they'd go earlier too, don't get me wrong. But them posting interviews and footage you can't get anywhere else checks the boxes they're talking about. It's absolute bottom of the barrel content.

And again, you're not happy, get it. Some are. For the people they're aiming it at this is an okay value because they're not so hung up on the cost equaling all the rare stuff we've been dreaming of.

You might be the most literal man I've ever talked to.

People keep forgetting in that $80 is Q and A's with Jon. Knowing what they charge for stuff like that is a biiiiig hunk of the $80 annual cost.

I am trying not to enter too much into this debate because I do not pay for the product.

I agree that $80 does not get you a lot these days, but I think you are wrong about this package delivering what it promised. Your argument seems to rest on if it pleases some people than that's enough. Partly true, but it is not a stretch to suggest this package is not what was promised. In fact, I think it is stretch to say it is.

When Jon says in the vault from "forever" ago, it is not being literal to assume this means from the 80s and 90s as much as it would the 2000s. RdKopper's list is mostly spot on, they have failed to deliver on much of what was promised.

I truly wonder if Jon does not have enough money-making clout (ownership) of the older stuff. Whether you are fine with the content so far or not, it is strange that Jon seems so unwilling to dip back into what everyone knows were their best days.

All that said, who knows what's coming. Perhaps content will drop that will make everybody happy.
