But why proclaim to "have the keys back"...if you can't actually show or give away anything?

I think its either membership numbers were low so they thought **** it they're not getting anything decent or jon has just simply lost interest and can't be bothered but has the money now so who cares if people are angry or not.

It's a very interesting discussion, I'd love to know their projections. If 75% of the casuals are happy, 25% of the diehards are pissed, is that a win to them? They've got so little overhead with cheaply made goods and clearly premade videos so no cost there. Their break even point has to be astonishingly low I think. But I stand firm that not enough people are disappointed for it to matter.

There is another thing that I do not understand. If it is a question of rights ... why can they launch We Werent born to follow from Berlin - broadcast on TV, Bed of Roses 93 Phillips, Undivided 2002 Times Square, and others like San Jose 2008 / Los Angeles 2010 from webcast?

I think this is not the problem. They release recycled material because they don't bother to do things right. Damn, They haven't even updated the photo gallery since November. All pics are from the THINFS Tour.

I am not interested in anything outside the music, not even photos. However, you have to believe that even the people who are lapping up the JBJ Experience would prefer some new photos over Bon Jovi branded pap. Heck, even a note from Jon would be better than Bon Jovi tampons or whatever it is they are including in these boxes.

In 2010, on the official Bon Jovi website, by registering, you could access material that Obie put up for us to download. Live tracks like Wild is the Wind, Love for Sale, Diamond Ring, Story Of My Life, from the show 02 arena 2010, MP3 soundboard.

Giving away stuff for free on a streaming service such as YouTube is very difference to giving stuff away as part of a package that you charge for....youtube royalties are claimed via other means.

Also bear in mind that Metallica and Pearl Jam mostly write their own stuff and don't use outisde writers, I believe. The majority of Jon's stuff is co-written with outside writers or people not part of the orginisation anymore....you can't just give their stuff away when you are charging for it (Billy Falcon, Desmond Child, Sambora...)

You're correct, of course, but didn't Richie sell all his songs? Does is still have a say?

Pics also rights issues related with the label?

No, but if they are professionally shot you would need to pay the photographers for the use. Everything has a cost.

The company that purchased them would be able to claim the money for Richie's share. Just because Richie sold them it doesn't mean Jon can use them for free...

No, no, I know. You mentioned Richie ("Sambora") and I thought him selling his rights means he has nothing to do with deciding what happens with those songs, while the company that purchased the rights does.

So Jon did his cheap trick in that teaser and now we only get the shadow of what he promised.
