AHA. There it is. Thank you!

Has there been any reports on subscription sales of the boxes?

As bad as the boxes look, they could be selling better than they thought they would. Maybe the quality level of this rubbish is a success for them?

I doubt there have been many sign ups in the last 6 months or so. Most fans paid up front with the only promise being that the boxes would be full of Jon’s favourite things.

The real proof in the pudding will be how many renew their membership (at the level that includes the boxes). I think most will renew but downgrade their subscription to digital only.

Surely they will have a big push towards the end of the year and throw a few bones to retain the membership they have got?

It's clear they're not paying much to make these low quality items. I'd love to break down what each box costs, multiply by 4 and figure out their profit margin.

Dicanio is dead on, these ain't Jon's favourite things. I imagine a lot joined to get the things Jon likes and to feel like they share common interests. This is just chintzy merch.

Totally agree. When they announced the boxes I thought they were gonna send out stuff like copies of Jon’s favorite albums or books or something along those lines, which seemed pretty cool and interesting to me.

Fortunately, the high shipping costs turned me away from the gold membership, but I can imagine that a lot of people expected the boxes to contain similar stuff as I did and that’s why they signed up for them.

It is a possibility this stops after the first year. If repeat memberships decline a lot and there is unlikely to be much new interest, what would be the point of continuing with it? I suspect the Experience will go down as a failure and disappear soon. Don't worry though, people are still going to get their Bon Jovi Santa hat and a photo of Jon putting balls on a Christmas tree.

Surely this is just confirmation that Jon's favourite thing is himself....:mrgreen:

A failure for us the minority doesn't equal a failure for the fanbase, the majority. Look how much the Runaway trips cost, peoples are still buying. They're going after a demographic with a sizeable disposable income, $200 for a YEAR isn't all that bad and if quality was a part of the issue, the band would have lost more of the fanbase as years went on. There are absolutely exceptions to this theory but....we've seen how easy it is to please some of them.

Jon will always have the housewives who want to frigg theirselves silly over a photo off him so he’ll always have a lot of members.

Even these people don’t seem bothered getting no music and love cheap tacky crap.

Yup. If people buy cheapass merch they'll keep making it. It's supply and demand. Whether they've convinced themselves there's a loyal audience that wants it or not is irrelevant. They are making money from conditioning fans into thinking this stuff is special.
