Was thinking about the few live tracks from San Jose 2008, LA 2010 etc.

By the way, back to the point, what the hell is wrong with JBJ Experience? I can't wait any longer to see David Bergman's EP6.

You made me laugh :D

And what do you want me to do, if there is no prepaid download button in sirius. (This shows should be on JBJ Experience, and not on streaming radio)

I could care less how or why you can't get it. Really think about it, if we just encourage everyone to take it because we can, wave bye bye to the possibility of more coming. Yeah it should be on experience but it's not, it doesn't give the one fanbase that wants it full on permission to take it and teach others how to do it. You want rare stuff to have a market? This isn't a great idea.

I'm with Rolo on this. If you put this stuff out there and don't give the fans the option to download it then the fans are going to find a way to save it. They have to expect that. If they wanted to do it properly, then give it as an exclusive to Sirius for a week or two and then put it on iTunes etc. Everybody wins. But if the only way to listen is to catch it when Sirius stream it, then fans are going to download / trade it, etc, any way that they can. Like Rolo says, it's no different to the way we recorded Milton Keynes or Wembley off of BBC Radio 1 back in the day etc. We all did that and no one had a problem with it.

As long as it's for your own personal use and you are not putting it out there for others to download or stream publicly, then I don't see the issue and I don't see how it threatens the Sirius stuff going forward at all.

I don't not agree but comparing this to the old fashioned ways where they were making the money elsewhere, I don't think it's an apt comparison. Sure they didn't care if shows were bootlegged, they were making hand over fist on merch sales, live shows, album sales, a cash cow bonanza in the old world.

Bigger picture I don't think the amount of new Sirius subscriptions they get because of this show will ever be analyzed that deeply but I'm also more pointing out how quickly the word loot was brought up and we're begging for morsels we're telling them there's an audience and we'll pay for it. It's a very uneven conversation point sometimes. The organization put themselves into this position and ruined the legacy so it's sad that its come to this.

I think you have not understood the meaning of my message. What I was pointing out is that these kinds of things at the end of the day make us commit these kinds of actions. I paid $ 80 for those weird things that Jon said we would have at JBJ Experience, and you defend that scam claiming royalties blah blah blah ... I have to cry for these suckers because they are not able to create a website dedicated to live shows for their download at a fair price? Maybe.

I do not like smuggling, having the thing officially is more satisfactory. Let's stop playing morality, these things exist because there are not many options. And I'm not going to get into the game anymore. I close the matter.

I get it, but if you are recording it, then you must be signed up and therefore paying for it, and the band/writers etc get their royalties. I suppose if fans are swapping and trading things privately then they would be losing out on money, but essentially they have used a platform that is supposedly only available in the US, so they have to expect that international fans will try to find a way to get these recordings. If you don't want that to happen you use a service that is available worldwide and make it easy for fans to aquire these things legally. The harder you make it then the more you increase the amount of people getting things my other means.

I don't advocate illegal file sharing at all, but when there are very little other means, what choice do the fans have?

Yeah fair enough. There's a world of difference between downloading for personal use/Trading and putting it on YouTube, I was more worried about option B. The people that bitched and moaned the stuff that was supposed to be exclusive on The Experience got put on Youtube making the whole thing less exclusive and around the same time less stuff coming out on it. Not saying the two are linked but that feels like the mentality. You can't charge that amount for stuff you can't get elsewhere and see it elsewhere.

Yeah I agree, hence my comments that i don't see a problem as long as people aren't sharing it publicly on sites such as YouTube or Filesharing sites. That should never be OK
