The Circle doesn’t stand out very well these days, but loved the circle/gh tour though!

Brokenpromiseland being a copy and paste of Coldplay, I never really got that and have heard it a lot. The synth parts in the intro are reminiscent of Clocks but past that it feels a world away from Coldplay. Could someone provide me with a Coldplay song it sounds like.

HAND is rife with "what was on the radio a year and a half prior. Title track takes the vocals of U2's Beautiful Day and puts it behind a slower American Idiot. The tracks recorded later, to me, the synth lines are very Killers-ish.

Had both been produced better I think i'd be way less critical of them now. There are songs I still adore on both though so..

The Circle is my least favourite album too, but what a tour. The last gimpse of their greatness as a live act unfortunately. It's almost as if they knew that it would be their last chance to play some stuff from the first 3 records (Roulette, Only Lonely, Let It Rock, etc)....weird...

I admit I phased out after Lost Highway especially live, what was special about this tour? It is worth me looking up specific shows, if yes, which do you reccomend?

It was mostly the setlists. The first four or five shows had a lot of songs that hadn't been played since the mid 80s. Roulette, Get Ready, Shot Through The Heart, Only Lonely (not sure if I'm missing any) before they were completely abandoned. Once they hit the UK setlists were great with Jon's voice being the best it'd been in awhile.

Listen to Jon's voice at the 3 minute mark. A few of the shows I saw in 2011 were the best I've seen them since 2003.

100% agree! It had everything that tour... Bon Jovi as a ‘band’, Jon’s Voice, the fans, the rarities, the set lists, the overall dynamic etc

Sadly it was the last glimpse of the band we know and love

Trouble is Jon dropped those ultra rare tracks but everybody wanted to hear them.
He looks and sounds so zoned out during only lonely. You can tell he hates that era.
Real shame as I’d love some earlier tracks instead of the usual stuff that could be dropped.

Trouble is if everybody wanted to hear the ultra rare tracks they wouldn't have been dropped. I see the look on North American faces when rare stuff gets played. It's the same one when When We Were Beautiful gets played. Should have dropped the non-single ones for the rare ones and then threw in a few more hits.

Only lonely was a single so not as ultra rare as say a bside or box set song.
Everything for the die hard gets dropped as Jon doesn't like that era.
How many shows were the way songs played for?
I seem to remember them being there at start, they got dropped then Europe got a few then dropped again??
