I just don't think it's going to work. If people are paying and happy with it, regardless of what type of fan they are, it's supply and demand. If people stop paying that means there's no audience for it. Hopefully they take the feedback from our side of the fanbase and improve on it but when's the last time they've done something to show that they will? Stagnant setlists show it doesn't matter to them, they have enough casual fans to make the money they want.
It's money. They stop getting it, they'll listen. Matt's twitter is literally filled with him tweeting about bitcoin and #dogelife. He doesn't get this side of the fanbase. |
How is the video quality and sound of Bed of Roses?

It is the ultimate irony that AC/DC outsell Bon Jovi by far by now, and that even Def Leppard make more of a splash when it comes to them doing fan events. Running BJ like a pure company - as in: everything FEELS corporate too - really didn't work out well in the long run. |
You only need to look at the comments on Jon's latest post.
"All 4 performances are amazing, I love the JBJ experience" "Thank you for these, have a wonderful valentine's Day" It's people who are either paid to promote the band or are craving a reply from Jon so they can stick "Jon replied to me on 11/02/21" Honestly, I know the reviews are the same here and it's becoming a bit boring from all of us but this has been worse than I thought. Yeah, you can say they never promised us anything. Yeah, you can say that we don't have to pay for it (I haven't) if we don't want too etc .. but it's really been a disgrace. The Xmas box was pathetic. I have a printing business and the Santa hat and bauble I could do for £5 tops. Legit. The socks, cool, but as part of a £300 membership thing? Nah. Sorry. A photo of Jon in a cotton turtle neck. No. The valentine's Day videos would have been fine on YouTube. A couple of songs that you think Jon may have forgotten about etc... But as part of the membership is poor. Rolo used some good examples of how that could have been made so much better. As stated, they don't care. People are paying for it. That's fine. It's not my money and what others do with it is fine but I just can't accept the fact that people are happy with it. I just can't. Sent from my VOG-L29 using Tapatalk |

But on the other side of the tracks, I don't actually think Jerry is employed by the band. If he's happy I can't be mad at that. I used to be like that but loving this band jades the hell out of you and I cannot understand why it hasn't. Is it being easily pleased? I legit don't know. |

Still plenty of time to produce good stuff for us anyway. Let's hope! Sent from my VOG-L29 using Tapatalk |
My fingers are crossed "days and months ahead" means sporadic additions and not the "one a month" format we assumed here.

Aloha !

They've absolutely no idea what they're going to send out other than cheap merchandising and dodgy VHS rips that won't get a remastering process because doing so costs money and time. Once it's time to cancel the memberships they'll realize they need to throw people a serious bone and you'll get the odd rare song which will then be posted on the internet the next day for everyone to download. There is just no reason to sign up for this other than to be able to say "I am a member". Nothing. If they'd have had a plan they'd have announced it but they're relying on those buying this regardless of what's out there. It works just fine, those who do care won't sign up anyway. It just boggles the mind that there's still people like you who somehow still have faith this just might be something. Salaam Aleikum, Sebastiaan |

I honestly don't think enough of "us" signed up that it will effect the numbers THAT MUCH come renewal time. That's been my point from day 1. |

WITHOUT a clean up, and with Obie being pretty much on speed dial, it'd be super cheap. Transfer them all once, run them through some basic mixing and clean up (you know, the kinda stuff HAND does for free regularly), it's still dirt cheap. And they'd have gotten money from people who aren't just wino soccer moms. But nope. Again, if you're gonna run stuff like a business, with zero romance for rock & roll, that's fine. But they're doing a bad job even from that angle. It just seems cheaply done all around. The old slogans ("NEVER BEFORE SEEN!", "EXCLUSIVE!") make this shit seem even fishier. Oh well. If I'm ever to eat these words, I'll gladly take the unreleased tracks - it's not like me bitching is my dream outcome of this. But as of now, that's what it is. |
This is what happens when it’s no longer a band thing and you give the decision to one person. (Yes it’s been like that for a while).
But if a band thing then Tico might say hey Jon how bout that song we did for (insert album title here) that we recorded and just couldn’t get right. The fans might want that? David chips in - how about the MK bowl performances in 89 and 93 they were pro shot shall we put those out there? Or even Hyde park 03 that was gonna be DVD? But sadly...... Yeah for what they're promising then not delivering it's really fishy to me too. |
Since the beginning, Jon has been breaking his promise, correct me if I am wrong:
He said: *The members will get a cut from the director of On A Night Like This with 6 bonus songs, the same day the movie is released on YouTube. *We would hear Halo soon. *Unpublished photographic material and alternative shots. *In the Valentine's Day video, he said 4 never seen before videos. So clearly, he's not doing shit, he's probably using his time to rest, and maybe compose for a new album. At one point in the livechat he said something like "I'm going to give you my best right all this year, because I have nothing to do." Well, we already know that his word is not worth shit. |
Quote:
The other two are true. Maybe we will get the other songs from Directors Cut but I can't say I'm too fussed. Heard them a million times and Jon is only going to sound shit anyway. Sent from my VOG-L29 using Tapatalk |
I totally forgot about that Director's Cut thing, I wonder what happened. Could it have been a rights/publishing issue as older songs?
The balls on a guy to say "4 never before seen videos" some of which released on DVDs blows me away. Though yeah, some of Rolo's complaints are two, some are just down to impatience. He didn't say when, just that we'd get them. It's very carnival huckster-y. |

a) we have a decent quality bootleg on audio and video b) 6 tracks got released on the TLFR DVD but mainly c) I can think of many other things I'd prefer to spend £10K on! |
Talking about OANLT... Why did the official channel removed the special from youtube?? Some friends noticed that yesterday and 'till now it's still out.
Fun fact: when you search for it the VERY first video that appears is Luv Can from the Experience... |

They set it to private. It'll probably be the BIG fan club EXCLUSIVE release next week.

I can't see it succeeding but at least give it a chance to fail. He's at least out there talking about it and that's better than selling wine. |

Yeah, he's definitely got an unhealthy obsession with the band. He's also got a slightly worrying obsession with Taylor Swift and he's the unofficial sixth backstreet boy [emoji23] Sent from my ELE-L09 using Tapatalk |

Let's not forget, when THINFS was released, we got a totally of 19 tracks... Now we only get 12 with 2020 and the one bonus track mentioned "Halo" gets thrown out there as part of The Experience...
Again, not really a great deal for what I signed up for. Halo should be "an addition to"... Not the backbone of it. Sent from my SM-A015V using Tapatalk |

It's a completely different pricing model, I don't see how the two are remotely similar other than "how dare they sell us so much product last time and have nothing for us this time"

Bonus tracks from current releases were always just expected. A leftover track from a current release would sell for a buck on iTunes... We got a 4 Disc 1 DVD set for around 50 bucks in 2004. Making your one leftover song a backbone from your current release isn't enough to satisfy the 80 bucks I dropped on The Experience. Sent from my SM-A015V using Tapatalk |

i agree the jbj experience is a bit of a let down til now...BUT
1. Jon highlighted in the exclusive talk that the bonus tracks might be ready in 2-3 weeks or 2-3 months, they will be uploaded but couldnt tell a certain date. He used carefully his words to avoid misunderstandings. he said though they ll be shared the coming months. he is right on that one.. 2. the bed of roses video is a start. havent seen the video live in youtube. it certainly looks rough, and thats truly disappointing but i hope we ll get at least 1 pro shot video from the past, sth not released within the year. i also hope jon gives access to their live shows to a guy who will put the love and work to make them sound and look great...imo this is their legacy..they had the hits and they had great live shows... releasing, at first in jbj experience and later on youtube a couple truly great live moments will work as a proof how good they used to be time and time again and as many have already mentioned, if they put some thought and effort there are at least 5 pro shots concerts, aimed for a released that werent released in the end. yokohama 93, central park 2008 for example that have potential to be shared and and have a great quality. |

They could drop some of the HAND tour, the Boston concert was professionally recorded, they could also release demos of Sex Sells, you know, but they're not taking it into account, and the months go by. They started well with the Christmas songs and Luv Can & Shine, but the rest has been insufficient. This should get better and better, but it feels like it's worse than the beginning. My point is .. this is an annual subscription, damn, if we finally only get the rarities in the last 3 months it will be a disappointment. I just hope that all this waiting is for a reason, something like they are remastering things to release them in the spring, and they need these months to work on it, but if we come to summer with the same vague monthly release, then they are not taking this so seriously.... and all of this JBJ Experience and its exclusivity would have been total shit. |
